This was a classic game of experience (BC) against youth (Silsbee). The "out coaching" statement was wrong. It was both teams making adjustments and when it stopped working making another adjustment. The "wanting it more" statement was stupid too. Silsbee had the only defensive stop of the game and both teams had one turn over. It was just a great game to watch, hated Silsbee lost. It was a bad time to try our first field goal of the year in that pressure situation, and a bad time for him to have an off night. TigerNation

With that being said, for the Tiger fans complaining about Refs, on the one where the Tiger got out of bounds and the clock kelp running. The receiver did not go backwards he was going forward as he was headed to the side lines no forward motion was stopped. Bad call. On the one where there was no interference call on Barnes, the defender never looked back as he reached out with his right arm and held Barnes arms from coming up to catch the ball. Bad Call. All the other holding and this and that, that wasn't called or called, well........... I guess it's just football. These two teams did a good job of playing through it. These two calls where relevant to Silsbee because in 25 seconds Silsbee can run 4 maybe 5 plays and Barnes dinged his shoulder up a little keeping him out of the game for a while. I like these two teams chances to make some noise in the playoffs. Good luck the rest of the way.

If some of you think a district championship doesn't mean much any more because of four teams going to the playoffs, try telling it to Silsbee and Bridge City tonight. Not saying the winner will win district, but both teams knew what was on the line with a win and a loss with only two games left. This was a good game, both teams left everything on the field, you really hated to see a team lose. Good luck the rest of the season. TigerNation

Wrong, not going backwards.

Silsbee JV 14 Bridge City JV 14 This was a good game. Silsbee got the ball on the 41 yard line with 36 seconds left in the game. Drove down to the 15 yard line with 1.1 seconds left and had a pass in the end zone and it slipped through the receivers hands as he slipped down on the field.

Come playoff time, coaches will be scratching their heads a little more and thinking do I want a one game or three game series.

To me, this was the game that swayed my mind about Dek keeping the starting spot. The past two weeks Dallas has played two pretty good defenses and the offense has handled the job. But going to Green Bay and beating them like they did was surprising. Last year we hurried Romo back and he got hurt again, this year Romo can get 100% healed before he comes back. At some point Romo will have to play, will it be a start or come in and finish a game. I think he needs to start so you can see him play and let him get game speed. Then bring Dek in the rest of the game. Let Romo start two or three games and each game increase the time he plays, then evaluate and make a decision. JMO! Go Cowboys!!!

Silsbee JV beat Navasota JV in Navasota 30-21. We left at 1:00, early enough incase the traffic got bad and construction, and got there in plenty of time. The drive to Navasota was ok, but the drive home was brutal that night. Even with the 5:30 start time we got home after 11:00. Wishing Navasota safe travels to and from the game tonight. TigerNation

Because of the length of the trip to the games the district split the freshman and JV games up, instead of the traditional both teams on the same night. Also, the games start at 5:30. So, with the long drive and early start time for JV I would say 30 fans (parents and grandparents) made the trip. It was a long drive but if your going to drive that far mite as well win the game. Silsbee JV 30 Navasota JV 21

Navasota like Silsbee has played a brutal non-district schedule. Both team have new head coaches, only difference is Navasota runs the same offense, Silsbee is learning a new offense. This is going to be a good game.

Who won???

If Silsbee can slow down the passing game of LCM, quick outs and WR bubble screens, we will be in good shape. LCM does have a couple of WR that are tall and physical, we got to control them plus the back coming out of the back field. LCM has to STOP Silsbee ground game, period. I'm thinking Silsbee passing game takes a step up tonight. JMO. TigerNation!!!

Good thing about two weeks off BC bumps and bruises get healed, bad thing about two weeks off, hard to duplicate game time speed and rust sets in. BC mite be a little slow to get going in the first quarter, then in the second quarter start controlling the game and in the fourth really pulling away. JMO

I no longer call games with Mike. I do pre game then go down in stands and watch my son play. I will be back calling when my youngest graduate in three years.
