  1. I too would like to thank the sharks for their excellent sportsmanship and hospitality. Their fans remained seated and quiet (as did their cheerleaders) while the West Hardin band marched their half-time show and showed their appreciation with applause after each tune. Additionally, as the band marched off the field toward the homestands the crowd members were shouting "Good luck at contest tomorrow." I have rarely seen such support for the Golden Pride from their own homestands! Sabine Pass parents and cheerleaders showed themselves to be classy people with a concern for everybody's kids. THANK YOU.
  2. I think it's a bad idea to bad mouth the bands. I know ours works hard even with the small numbers and other students constantly mouthing at them. I can't read music, so I don't try to be in the band. Just because a kid is not an athlete doesn't mean their bad or anything. I know our three girls on flags have done like four or five different routines this year just to try to change the routine up a bit. The band spends hours doing the one routine only to hear all this griping. It's not fair. Those who are talking should play in the band or shut up. JUST MY OPINION as a student in the stands, but the game would be a lot more boring without the band playing in the stands and pep rallies would be TOTALLY lacking w/o the band. I say lay off the bands, they put up with enough as is. It's easy to be in a "cool" program like football not so easy to be a teenage in a "not cool" program.
  3. The Seniors who we are losing--Letsinger and Simmons will definitely hurt us next year. It' s not like there is someone to replace Simmons, but Copeland will help with the loss of Letsinger. As for Carouthers no way will he be back in time for playoffs. the end of our grading period is this Friday--the first playoff game will be the following Thursday. Hopefully, after that if our team goes on he'll be able to play---but who knows.
  4. TRUE--they forfeitted. Y'all think this will be good or bad for WH? On one hand, they can rest and there's no chance of injury. On the other hand, they can't play a game to replace the forfeitted one!
  5. That's the correct score!!!!!! The fans were awesome tonight---the stadium roared GOLDEN PRIDE!
  6. Well--I'm sure it will be a hard fought game, but seeing as I am who I am I predict....West Hardin will win this one. Anyone who's honest from either side will admit that it's anybody's game. Who wins could turn on something very simple...who's sick, who's failing or (more likely) who makes an error.
  7. Great job Hardin! We Oilers are proud to be your neighbors.
  8. Mustang- WH varsity was playing Kelly JV because WH's district games start next week, and there was nobody else to play them. I was proud that the Oilers did the right thing and didn't run up the score for the heck of it. It's sometimes rare for WH to show class, but with Westfall at the helm it is becoming more and more common.
  9. 20 seconds left--they should have fallen on the ball..not run. No doubt about that. There is always a reason for a loss and that is it..pure and simple. I was just pointing out that they are having problems with staph...scarey stuff to say the least.
  10. West Hardin is fighting a big outbreak of staph--that's the problem.
  11. I heard this coming week...but they are being cautious so as to insure that he'll be healthy come district. Let's just hope all of them have taken care of their school work since grades come out Friday and anyone who fails will be out for several district games.....
  12. yep--a healthy Letsinger with Carouthers would be awesome! Copeland's just a sophmore so we can expect even better from him later.
  13. Well HD better watch out! In one more week WH grades come out and they'll have even more strong players out of grade trouble.......
