1. Good luck, WO-S. The stadium at Waller is nice, but they will not open the ticket booth until 6:00 PM, even for a 7:00 PM game time.  So good luck to the fans to try to beat the Houston traffic but yet not be at the stadium too early.  The concession stands are large and quick, but they ran out of a lot of stuff by half-time at the EC game there last week.  I think they just underestimated the crowds that a "little 2A school" would bring.  And they do not allow fans on the field after the game, so it is very difficult to find a place for friends & family to visit with their player after the game.
 2. Friday night at 7:00 will find me in Waller, TX watching the East Chambers Buccaneers take on the Franklin Lions ... frequently checking for updates on the  Navasota / Jasper game!
 3. Glenn is a great kid, both on and off the field. So are all the other Bucs. They realize it takes a team effort and none of them can do it by themselves. Let's Go, Big Bucs!  Take those [s]Tigers[/s] Lions by the tail!
I'm with you Farmer Fran. What does this mean? We do have fire trucks at our games at home. They do blow their horns when we score. But that's it. I don't really know where this is coming from or why.  :D
You may want to let the powers at be at Newton know that this is a direct violation of UIL Constitution and Contest Rules 2012-2013 Section 1208 ... (n) MASCOTS, FIREARMS, PYROTECHNIC DEVICES, BALLOONS. Live animal mascots, cannons, firearms, fireworks, etc. are prohibited at League athletic contests. Except in their normal course of business, emergency vehicles shall not flash lights or sound sirens during the course of a game. Noisemakers are prohibited at League athletic events held in field houses and/or gymnasiums. Releasing balloons is prohibited at League athletic events held outdoors. Just at FYI.
 5. That is sad.  I know it follows in all sports that people jump on the wagon when things are good.  But in small communities like this you'd expect them to support the kids better than that.  Win, lose or draw; let the kids know you are proud of them for trying.  Put politics and everything else aside!
 6. Would have liked it better if they covered 2A, 1A and six man teams in the area. :-\
Does this district use positive and negative points?  Is that even possible to only use positive points?  Just wondering because the statement above says they go to positive points.  That means that Warren is at 0 right?  Or do they use negative points as well?
The way I understand it and the way WOSgrad shows in his examples is that "positive points" simply means the points differential in the games amongst the tied teams.  Wins add to the points total and losses subtract from the points total, but only including up to 21 points per game.

A four-way tie is on the edge of the realm of possibility, but not at all probable. Go Anahuac!  Just win over Kountze and put an end to the confusion!
Who said woodville would beat Newton?
Just like who said warren would beat woodville.. Anything could happen. its most likely not going to happen but still.
The 5 way tie would happen with a Woodville loss, Kountze and Warren win.
Oopps.  You are correct, the 5-way tie would be with a Woodville loss.  But then you have a team going to the playoffs with a loosing record, which really gets under my skin.  I know it happens a lot in this insane "UIL-gone-crazy" system that we have, but it is still ridiculous.
I thought I explained all this in the first post of this thread. ::) I am sitting here looking at 10-2A DI standings. There is a possibility that 5 teams could end up tied for that 3rd and final spot. Kirbyville is 3-3, Woodville is 3-3, Anahuac is 3-3, Kountze 2-4, Warren 2-4. All 5 could end district at 3-4. If Kirbyville loses to Warren, Anahuac loses to Kountze, Woodville loses to Newton, that would create the 5 way tie for the final spot. Crazy!!! Figure that one out!
Yes, you did.  But often times you find yourself forgetting how the topic began by the time you get to the end of it.  LOL. Also, I was confusing this thread with another similar thread where several people stated that Woodville was still in the hunt. I don't know about you, but I'm not perfect.  My apologies to all who are.

 11.
This is what I was think last week when I started the 10-2ADI thread. Don't see it being a five-way tie but it could. Bi-district opponents up North could end up in a four-way tie.... for first. Assuming both Tatum and Troup win this week it would end up as Tatum #1 seed, WO #2 seed and Troup #3 seed.
How do you get there?  Troup, Tatum and White Oak are all 3-1 in district.  If all three win this week, I can see a 3-way tie but not a 4-way tie. What is your tie-breaker system?  If it is margin of victory, wouldn't White Oak be #1 (+10 over Troup), Tatum #2 (+7 over White Oak) and Troup #3 (+4 over Tatum)? And while I don't know a lot about White Oak and Jefferson, they appear to be fairly closely matched.  What if Jefferson pulls out the win?  Then would it be Troup #1 (4-1 but beat Tatum), Tatum #2 (4-1 but lost to Troup) and a tie between White Oak & Jefferson for 3rd?  How would the tie be broken then for the 3rd place spot?
 12.
In all fairness to Lamar U they don't run their own concession stand. A private company(forgot the name) has all of LU's food contract and they decide the food, # of employees etc. What is really crazy the contract between the two forces LU to pay for the staff, to man the concessions, so I don't know why the private company would be understaffed.
This is not entirely true.  I believe that applies only to LU games.  When I have gone to high school games at LU stadium, whether regular season or playoff game, the concessions are run by various organizations which are often non-profit groups. If all you care about are the concessions, stay home.
 13. This is always a good game.  A lot of "cousins" on the field and off! LOL.  Best of luck to both teams. EC        21 Anahuac 14
 14. I agree with what others have said.  Pulling starters in the 3rd quarter when you are up by 21+ is considered good sportsmanship.  However, the 2nd and 3rd string kids want to do the best they can, too.  So if one teams 2nd or 3rd string is better than the other teams 1st string, there is not a lot you can do about that.  It is not fair to tell them not to do their best.  You want everyone to do their best.  Kids need to learn to accept defeat graciously no matter what.  That is one of the best life lessons they can learn through sports.
 15. Newton by 50 or more. I think the point someone made earlier about resting starters is valid.  But Newton has never done that.  They just want to run up the score on everyone by as much as they can.  One the other hand, it doesn't look like they have all that many players on the bench either.
