[/quote] I dont know who Deweyville has left on there pre-distric schedule. but as far as playing Evadale they have play the last 3 yrs and lost all 3 times. So why would they wont to play anyone any better. And Evadale has been the best 1a team in area for the last 3 yrs. With all that said I think that Evadale will have a tuff time beating Deweyville this yr. Evadale won a close game last yr by 1 with a much bigger and experance team than the one they have this yr.

This is going to be a long yr for the Rebs. Its been along time cense they had to replace this many starters. And losing the starting QB before the season started is going to take a few games to weed out just who is going to take that spot. Still they will make the playoffs  :(

Just another case of a kid that has never had to be held accountable for anything.

But I have seen it first hand. I saw a new coach come to town, and he told all the kids before the season started to " show me what you can do , dont try and tell me" Yet when the season started one player had a broken arm and was unable to play at all. Yet as soon as the V jerseys were handed out ,he got one. And the only thing this kid showed the new coach was his last name was the same as the President of the school board... And it came back to bight the coach in the butt. During the reagonal playoffs the two starting centers got in foul trouble and had to set. The kid gave up 5 off. rebounds in a row and we went from 6 points up to 4 points down, and the team lost by 4. He had other kids on JV that could out play this player, but were not even on the bench.

I hate saying this but maybe HighIsland should look into playing 6 man ball. I just dont think its right for the other teams in that dist. to loss a game due to HI  lossing a few players to injurys and have to pull out. Burkville does not have many games allready this yr, and if HI pulls out late in the year they wont have time to schedule a replacement. endturn hurting both schools.

Just from what I was told. Warren won. The Evadale team is young with little V. experience. This will be a rebuilding yr.

I have not had much experance with bigger schools. But in the smaller ones I like to play a box in one, Most schools have one maybe two strong players, and then other roll players . I like to take the ball out of their star players hand and have them try and beat me with their roll players. But to say you stay man on man or just run a Zone realy hurts your players.

After watching Evadale play the yr before with out him, I think they could have betten Spurger and had a chance to make it that yr. But Hind sight is always 20/20. I think he gained alot by playing at all three schools.

" I would have loved for him to play there, but there was not a spot that he fit. I Have no regreets though were we finished at. We did get to play in the BIG HOUSE. Hope your son gets to play there some day. It make all those nights at little dribbler game worth it..

And it payed off by  me getting to watching him play in the state tour. and now he will be playing at the collage level. Man Moma Dove did not even give the new coach one yr at HF before she jerked he babys out .A guess she just could not stand watching them being the wipping boys for Silsbee and HJ another year.

From what I hear the coach is only there for a few yrs anyway. He is close to retiring and he took the job to be able to retire at a higher pay rate than he was making at EC.... IT ALL ABOUT THE MONEY...
