The way the State is cutting the money, I look for the small schools to disappear in the next 6 yrs. Leaving just bigger schools left. I hate to see that happen but Rick Perry has a plan ::)
I can't decide if True Blue is slamming Hunter, the Deweyville Pirates, Or the group of coaches (24-2A)that voted or the group of coaches from his district (25-1A) that voted on his kid. I guess it doesnt really matter because he finds fault everwhere. Either way, I feel bad for him.....this is eating him up inside!! Proud of all you boys......Ya'll make a school and a community proud!!
I have nothing against the Kid or Kids from Deweyville, or Deweyville. Its not there fought that the other coaches Voted the way the did. A coach can not vote on their own player they just give the names of the player and the other coaches vote. -
No What I know is that the kid did deserve to be on the all dist. team, But JMO inorder to be a MVP you must play on a winning team.. Sorry that just the way I feel. Scoring all those points on a lossing team, just mean that your the best player on a bad team, Not the kids fought but it just that way. JMO a MVP Has to come from a winning program.

OK, The Davis kid scored 136 points in Dist. But better than that his team only lost ONE game... I cant find the # for the DV kid. but He only Won ONE game....
It does not matter if he Average 20 or 50, his team came in last in a 7 team dist. that mean that 30 other kids play on a team that beat him. MVP means Best Player in Whole Dist. and if you play on a team that only wins one game and comes in last place, that aint you.. ::)
He wasn't MVP, he was Offensive POY. McDaniel was MVP. I have seen offensive POY's come from teams that did not do well. It's not that big a deal.
Try telling that to the kid that played on a winning team that thought he deserverd it. Its a big deal to them. In 5 years it wont but at 17 and 18 yrs old its a big deal.. -

If he put up 363 in district games he definitely should get the nod, thats 30.25 a game which are super stats in anyones books. If he put those numbers up over a season the it's somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 pts a game. The Estes kid has been a solid lil player for the last several years.Sometimes it's tougher on kids on not so good teams to score because the defenses are geared to stop them.
No player averaged over 30 points a game in this district. True Blue's stats are inaccurate.
I did not say he score 363 in dist. that was his stats for the year. According to Max Preps numbers. That is 12.5 points a game. But I cant find the Kids Numbers from DV his coach must not post them.

Like I said before the Kid did deserve All Dist. , but to say he was the best (MVP) of the Dist. when his team only won one game is not fair for the kids that did deserve it. And Like I said ,its all political. DV came in last place in a 7 team dist. that mean that 6 teams and 30 players beat them. And you going to tell me that they had the best Off. player of the whole Dist. :o :o :o They came in LAST there no way they had any MVP playing on that team.
well, apparently this district based their picks on stats (like it should be) and not how many games the team one(which was more than one btw). Why does it bother you? You don't even have a dog in the fight!
Well I am looking at stats also and the Davis kid from EC put up 363 points this year and he beat DV by 45 points twice. And his team won the dist. and only lost one game, were the other kid only won one game.
True Blue you just can't ever be happy for a kid can you? Just like you sayin the kid from Deweyville didn't deserve offensive MVP when he did!! Give credit when its due
Why should anyone be happy of someone that got a award for something that they did not deserve. The kid should have got 1 team all dist but not MVP, come on look at the numbers. He did not have them.... -
True, his stats were better than most....you may need to look at them before commenting, just sayin...
It doesnt matter if he scored 50 points a game. If his team lost all but one game there is no way he deserved to be Off. MVP of the Dist. All that means is that the rest of the team scored nothing, or he shot ever time he got the ball. But your team has to win more that ONE game to be any MVP.

As in the 1a All Dist. picks ,looks like politics played a big part here also. How does anyone think that a player can be Offensive player of the whole dist. and his team only win one dist. game. Again what a joke ??? ???

This list goes to show that politics play a huge part in picking All District. The Numbers definitly dont match the picks. Tucker from Evadale lead the whole dist. in steals, and Dunigan lead the entire state, From 5a to 1a in blocks, and the coaches pick a kid from a team that only won 4 dist. games to be Defensive player of the year. What a joke. -
This is 2011 and there are cameras everywere, and as I said earlier there are judgment calls that half of the people will fell that were wrong. But this call was black and white. Eather he got the shot off or not. How long would it have took to go look at the film? And then they could have seen the ball in the players hand, with the score board in the back ground lite up. Then they put 4 min. on the clock and the players deside the out come of the game. This game was a game of runs. and with it being tied eather team could have won that game.
I talked to one of the refs that helped work the tourney.....After watching the game film he said there was a travel......but the shot was good.....
Then the guy must not have seen the picture that is all over. It is clear that the ball is still in the players hand and the lights or on ,on the back board at the far end of the court.
The question is not about Perry or other poiticans. I am sure some would ask True Blue would be, "have you ever WORKED a day in your life?" I am sure some around you would say, "no". What's the point then? So, anyone can take anyone else's salary times the number of years worked and total a hefty sum. So? One could say the same to True Blue too. So. The point is, the local districts are in trouble by their own hands and by the state misusing funds. Now what do we do about it? That's the point.
How do you find that the local districts or in trouble by their hands, when the State, and YOUR REP. Prick Perry is taking money from them and giving it to other dist. that did miss spend their money. But as for me working for a living , I worked for a paycheck starting at 14 and have done that for 34 years now. And not one time did my job involde thinking of ways to give my rich friends tax cuts while thing of other ways to spend other, working class fokes taxes. -
Nash, I love you bro, but Dwight Howard doesn't look like he is scared of a weight room. With moderation and timing, a solid weight program can be productive.
Well your talking about building a winning program ,right? Well just how many championships has Howard won?? I seem to have seen were Garnett has 2 championships and he has never lifted. He said that he did not have to lift weights to shot a basketball. Maybe if Howard spent more time working on his jump shot, and less on body building he might win one ;)
Regardless of whether or not the refs got it right or wrong in the final two seconds, the Rebels blew an 8 point lead and thats where the accountability lies. I really dont like it when people just blame the refs without putting it all into context.
You must be one of those guys that walk in to the end of a conversation and know everthing that was talked about.. You need to go back and read alittle more. I think everyone has said that Evadale let EULA back into the game by blowing a 8 point game, But They should have been given the chance to finish the game UNDER the Rules That Say A quater is 8:00 min. and not 8:01.... Its all water under the bridge, But those three Ref Blew that game for those kids..
Rick Perry was a pilot in the US Air Force in the 70's. In my book, that's working.
He flew a cargo plan. That is like saying a truck driver is a race car driver..," Perry said. "That is a local decision that will be made at the local districts." Of course, it's a local decision to lay off teachers. But what the governor didn't mention was that those local decisions are being made thanks to the state budget plan to short schools $9 billion to $10 billion in state aid. If the state coughed up the money, the schools wouldn't be laying all of these teachers -
I found out today that the 3 man crew that called the Evadale/Eula game was sent home packing. They will not be doing any championship games.
Man thats the best news I have heard this weekend.... Still makes the loss hard to swallow, but it make you fill a little better knowing that someone other than a Evadale fan thought that the call was blowen... This loss will take a few days to get over. But I am still so proud of these boys. And I just got the BMT paper, man that picture is hard see. Man I would rather take a punch in the face than see someone I love,in so much pain and I could do nothing about it >:( >:(
