Yes your right you win some and you lose some. I just fell sorry for those players that are Sr. and that is the way their high school career has to end :( And some will have played the last real game of their lives.

And I have said that I dont know IF they could have pulled out a win in over time, BUT to ADD A FULL SECOND to the game is STILLING THE GAME FROM THE PLAYERS.  Those Refs got payed to do a job and to make sure the rules were followed, and by adding time to the game they STOLE the game.

I just hate it when the officels become part of the game and take the outcome out of the players hands. If they wave off that shot, the game is still tied and the players get to deside the game. But by blowing that call the officals stoll that game from those kids.

I just watched the last 2 sec. of this game and man did those boys get screwed, the Refs miss 3 calls in 2 sec. First the kid takes 3 steps before making the pass ,then the player takes the defender out with a moving screen, then the toper was the kid has the ball in his hand clearly with the back board light goes  red. Man it sux to get cheated out of a game :( .Not saying that the Rebs could have won the game in over time but they should have been given the chance.

It kills me that I had to miss this last game, so I can not say if the refs call tigher on one team or not. A blocking foul and a charge foul are all judgment calls, and Dunigan got to charging fouls. But the shot at the buzzer is not a judgment call, its black and white. And I cant beleave that 3 Refs, got this one wrong :( Just another cass of refs not being held responsible for blown calls.

I have also said that first you have to make it to the dance, then anything can happen. From what I have seen about Eula, they have a pretty good post player, but he is small. I dont know if Austin could have handled that many rednecks in town at one time.It just others that have a hard time giving Evadale the credit that they deserve.

I know that everyone  knows that Blane is My Son. And I am so proud of him and the rest of the Evadale team. I also know he has taken alot of heat on this board, most was brought on because of me. But if you cant brag on your own child than who can... Some people take his emotions as being cocky, but the truth is he just loves to play, and compete. I just hope he has a good game this weekend and represents Setx with the class that it deserves.

[/quote]Basketball is a team sport, but "SETX player of the year" is not.  I don't know what to add.  As I've stated, you've claimed that Evadale has won as a team, and each game there is somebody who steps up.  In other words, no one has consistently carried the team on his shoulders. [/quote]TB, I don't see how anybody can honestly argue that Evadale is not the team of SETX this year.  Those boys have done a magnificent job and they proven so many on these forums wrong (they've certainly gone farther than I gave them credit). But I'm not sure if you are correct in saying anyone of their players should be player of the year.  You yourself claimed that Evadale has won because they are such a good TEAM.  You stop one player, and another player beats you.  Each game it seems like a different player shines.  Let me ask you, is there any player on Evadales team whose absence would have caused them to lose much earlier in the playoffs.  I don't think so, but I haven't watched them lately...... but I have been reading your posts and from those I gather that they would have won even with the loss of say..... Dunigan or Murphy. Now, in contrast, if Shawn Prudhomme would have gone down after our first district game, we would have lost against Stafford and Cleveland - hands down.  I'm not throwing Shawn's name in the hat, but because I follow the Hawks, I can tell you what I think an MVP is..... someone you can't win without. Well I realy could give a rats@$$ if anyone on here calles them the best in SETX but Right now Blane Dunigan and Deven Murphy have led the Rebs to the State playoffs, With 60 and 63 points. When all the players that you all have crowned the best... are at home getting for baseball,or next year. And if they win two more games they WILL BE The Best Team IN STEX. But if they LOSE they still will have made it farther than anyone else in SETX. IN my eyes theses boys are the best. And I dont think eather one of they care what other people think of them. Well dont know how it worked out in the bigger schools, but in 1a, all four teams in the final 4 are 1 place teams.

And then there was one..... As in all three playoff games the Rebs show that if you shut down one some one else will step up. And tonight that was D Murrpyh #3 . Great job guys now there is one more....

Little old Evadale is just a small fish in a BIG OCEAN and they have been swimming up stream all year, With a new coach and a new style, and playing the best teams in all of SETX. They took some tuff butt woopings at the start of the year. But you know how to make the strongest Steel?? Thats with the hottest fire. But right now they are playing their best ball all year. No one on here gave them any chance of making it this far, so they have no pressure on them at all... Some on here had them as the #10 best small school in our area, but look they are the only small school still playing  ;D Just playing ball and letting the score talk for them.. [size=14pt]And Blane Your Dad Is So Proud of You [/size] ;)

Just one more stat that they need to work on :(  11 for 26 from the Free Throw Line..... Come on guys Champions have to make those free points ;)

Milano's coaches had done the homework, and they were not going to let Dunigan score at will ,like the Yorktown game. But as I was hoping he just passed out of the double teams and Stark, and Tucker made them pay. I have always know that this is not a one man team,so if any team tries to shut down one player, the other 4 will step up. Great Job Guys, and just keep playing one game at a time.  Now I know we won the game, but the Refs in this game were the worst I have seen all year. Dont know what chapter they were from, but looked to be UIL. But I just dont know why, at this time of they year you cant get a good crew?? I know that during the year , they get spread out and you get a bad ref. But As with the teams this is when the best should be on the floor. I have watched the film 3 times this morring and there was one guy that made 8 wrong calls. Not judgement call, just flat wrong calls. These coaches and kids have worked to hard to have a incomment Ref deside the out come of a game.

But SP did not even make the playoffs, Big Sandy was the 2 place team. But also you need to look at the preseason games that Evadale played. They played all bigger schools and 9 of them made the playoffs in their Dist. But all this debating will be over in 4 hrs :D
