That is a classy coach.
Speaking of coaches, with 2 min left Evadale put in all of the bench, but the SP coach keep his starting 5 on the floor and there were 3 kids that were on their bench that never saw the floor ??? ??? did he think that they had a chance to come from that far down ??? -
That is a classy coach.
I think you are missing his point. He is not saying to run up the score, just that when we pressure the ball and start to pull away he seems to put the brakes on. I see no reason to run a score up to 100, but a 10 point lead is not enough of a lead to back off. Its been proven in the last 2 game, the second team can give up 10 points realy fast :( -

Evadale wins 71 to 49. Very sloppy game but a win is a win. Were up by 29 with 2 min left and back ups gave up 10 points in 1:30 before they scored a point. # 3 had a big game with hitting 6 or 7 3s and ended with 29 points. the three bigs had good games 32 and 43 had over 10 points and 21 had over 20 boards and 10 blocks. This week they realy need to work on the free throws , those misses will come back to hurt in a close game. -
Big Sandy @ Hull-Daisetta Who Will Win

I am looking forward to see how this game comes out. I have not seen BS play this year, but HD played hard and had good guard play when they played Evadale. They just could not handel the size of Evadale, but I hear that BS does not have any size, just good guard play. -
If Evadale does not have good guard play this might be interesting. They will bring full court pressure. Evadale is big and that will be a problem for Sabine Pass. They have no size.
Evadale does not have a true point guard, but they have learn to pass the ball over the top with their 3 big players. But teams that put a lot of pressure on the back court does give them trouble. And once in the half court they play very good.
whats it matter if they get 2 dunks?? last time i checked it was just as good as a layup
A dunk in a highschool game can realy lift the emotions of a team, and can effect the confidence of the other team.

SP has beaten Evadale the last two years, But I see that streak comming to a end tonight. I see Evadale getting at least 2 dunks and winning by 20+. Bench players should get plenty of playing time tonight.

I know that WO-S will come in looking to knock them off. And playing with nothing to loss they could be dangerous
\ When you are the top team in the area, every game is a potential trap
Excellant point, nash.
True, but keeping it real, WOS is the only other team that might have a chance of catching Silsbee flat. I feel even with a off night they can beat the other 3 teams -

Like i said before maybe if HF make the playoffs , they could play a warmup game. I bet you do wish that they could play a few more 1a schools ;D But after seeing that HF lost to OF I guess its time for you to start warming the arms up to play baseball.

I have been out for a few days, But I to beleave that a team is better with 3 guards and two post on the floor, but Evadale dose not have a true point guard so they are week a the guard spot. And you are also right that without anyone to let the big players rest it has hurt them late in games were teams have a bigger bench. They seem to get tired. -

I dont think an up tempo game is your strength. You dont have the guards for it. I agree with bball, your best opportunity is the size factor. The fresh has to learn to get his bigs involved as opposed to looking like aau. He is good player for a fresh but the game changers are down low and he needs them if he is going to effective at all this year. Also, the exchange kid needs to learn to use the size and take advantage of the mismatch he creates as opposed to standing outside.
BINGO!!!!! This is exactly what I have observed in the few HF games that I have seen this year. They have the size but the overall guard play is not good. Teams that pressure these guys will have great success.
I fell the same, they have good size but just dont use it. When you biggest kid it standing behind the arch you mayaswell have a 5 foot guard out there. Make you wonder who is running that team. Is the kid playing for himself or the team ???
How is it going to be the game in the dist. u said Evadale win all dist. game by 30 ??? ??? How can that be the best. ??? ???
You need to go back and look at what I posted.. I said every team by 20 but after looking at some of who HD had played I felt they would have beat them by 30. And as far as BS it is always a good game in their gym. And this game will prob. not be the closes game in Dist. ,with the rest af the field being so even, but it could be the Rebs hardest. But I also fell if HD comes out as hard as they did here, at home it will also be a good game. And you know the ball can take some funny bounces in that old gym ;) -
It hasn't been long since Evadale has had a player who could dunk.Daws hasn't been gone long.Any player that's 6"7" should be able to dunk.Evadale is a better club with 2 big men on the floor and 1 subbing in off the bench.Small teams who pressure the ball will give the Rebels trouble especially if all 3 big kids are on the floor. From the games I've seen the Rebs play, they have a solid club but aren't very deep and aren't in real good shape. That has more to do with the 3's not falling than anything else. They better not sleep on BS at BS or they will be surprised.
Time realy flys, Its been 5 yrs since Daws got his one Dunk in the old gym at the Evadale tour. And you have said several time that you think that Evadale is better with 2 bigs on the floor at a time. But the coach , that gets payed for coaching, does not fell the same way. I dont know if you have seen them play since he started starting the three big players at the same time, but they are playing real good together. They are all 3 averaging 10 points each. So if you get a chance you should make the trip to BS in 2 weeks and check them out. It should be the best dist. game of the year -

I allready said that I was impressed with the way HD came to play. And I think that the Evadale players took them lightly. But they were ahead 18 with 1 min. left and we had 69 at that point. But if BS only scored49 against WH it is going to be a long night for them when we come to town. -
i know how good #21 could be if he would play fundamental basketball and a little less showboating . i like to watch him when he's dunking and stuff but there is a time and place for it and its not with a 6 point lead my opinion don't count but thats what i think.
Yea the behind the back was uncalled for but they were up by 8 at that point and if he would have made it the team would have had a huge momentum swing, and the dunk came when they were up by 16. But come on How long has it been sence Evadale has had anyone that could Dunk in a game. ??? -

Wow I though I was the only that was think that way >:( I to think that when the other team is trying to play man def. and they put a 5'11'' kid on a 6'7'' kid you have to post him up and get him the ball. That will make the other team eather go to a zone or have to dubbel team ,witch will open up the out side for #3 to shot the 3. #21 has proven he can see the floor and hit the open player. But we have got to start getting better guard play or it will be a short trip in the playoffs. -
I though the same thing ,after seeing HF play. They have good size ,but just dont use it. When your tallest kid playes behind the 3 piont line and never attackes the rim, it kind of makes you wonder who is running the team. I know the kid wonts to play out side ,but in highschool you have to play were you help the team the most. But look at the brightside your son is young so he has 3 more years to try and get it fixed.

I got to hand it to HD they played very tuff seeing that they have very little size. They played with 4 guards and realy put pressure on the lack of guard play that Evadale has. #32 for Evadale had a strong game with 20+ points and #21 had 20 boards and 8 blocks to help lead the Rebs to this win. All 3 big guys played a strong game inside. # 3 did not get many open looks tonight but he helped get the ball inside were they had a big advantage. Great job guys and keep working hard and good things will come.
EVERYBODY BY 30 POINTS ??? TRUE BLUE U SAID IT ???
I think I said everyone by 20. Then after looking at the teams that HD had lost to I said that Evadale should beat them by 30. But as I said HD came out ready to play, and I think the Evadale players have been reading their press and did not take HD serious. But Evadale missed 12 FT in the first half and they pulled the starters when up by 18, so I did not miss it by much. But from here on out every team will be comming out to knock the Rebs out , with nothing to loss. But HD played very hard and throw up some prayers that went in. If they play WH and BS that hard they could be in the race for the 2 and 3 spot. -
