Are you saying that they should have the same with all the kids that they have to chose from ;D ;D.  I know that Evadale rep. their town well in ever sport, they have 2 state championship  statues in front of the new gym, and played in the state game in baseball last year. Well just ask the Kountze coach if BMT schools pay pretty good?? He was ready to move to BMT last summer but would have to have taken a cut in pay..  2a going to 5a and having to take a cut ??? But just find out how much the girlfriend and wife makes ??? Oh and how many $60,000.00 ford king ranch trucks they drive ;D

BMT schools dont have enough money to get one of the winning coaches to come there. Butch has to play his wife and girlfriends . There is no money left in the budget, for a winner.

We think it is very fortunate to have 3 and 4a clubs willing to come and play us. Some people think that a bigger club has nothing to gain by playing a small school. I think that the game will help both clubs in the furture. Just wish that we could have play with our whole club healthy. #32 has been out for 2 weeks and during that time we have gone 1 and 6, so hopefully he will be back at full strength come dist. play

The lack of bench play realy hurt the Rebs. They only had 3 players scoring and in the 4 qr those 3 just ran out of gas. 32 for the Rebs tryed to play but you could tell he has been setting for 2 weeks. He only played about 3 min. but had no movement and no legs.He is averaging 11 points a game but last night he only had 1.  # 10 for HF was a nice emprovment for the horns at the point. He opened the 3 Qr with 2 back to back 3s and cut the 10 point lead that Evadale had to 4. HF coach used his bench and looked to play 9 or 10 kids, and they just out ran the Rebs. Cant wait to start playing teams our same size. 3 and 4a teams just have more horses in the barn.

Well as I said before I dont thank a 3 game at this time would help eather club. Kountze shot a huge% from behind the line in the first game. And that was the biggest differentce in the 2 game. But people keep saying that Kountze played a bad game the 2 time. It might have something to do with Evadale playing a whole lot better Def. Remember they had only been in the gym 5 days before their first meating. But both clubs need to start looking head. Kountze better be looking at the EC game tonight. I see both clubs pretty even with neather club having a big in side game they both play a fast pace game and shot a lot of jump shots. If they dont shoot any better than they did against Evadale the second time they will get beat. And Evadale needs to get ready to play the 3a power house  HF tonight, with their 6'7'' exchange student ;D

Think there is allready 2 players from this area that are coaching now. The  Kountze coach played at HJ and the coach at LCM played at Evadale , his sister is the girls coach at Buna

I think you are right about the dist. being down this year, But I hope the fact of them playing in the hardest pre season in years, will help them come playoff time. I all so hope that with them winning the dist. they will get a first round bye. So hopefully they can play a good team in a warm up game. As long as no one gets hurt I see them winning all the games left this year untill playoffs start.

Tuesday 4th 7:00 at Evadale

Evadale will have all their starters back for this game. I look for them to get back to .500 for the year and to win out the year heading to the playoffs..

I think the same as was said early .. the one that fits his team the best The 2 I have seen  are different type of players but they are the best for their teams. Gus for HJ and Jones for EC.. Gus can push the ball and make the other team use a lot of energy trying to stop him and when they try and tighten up the inside that opens up the out side for the 3. In Jones he makes his team better by hitting the open man with strong passes. They both fit the system that they are playing in.

I think thats working pretty well.. They are playing with 7 players and are the smallest team in the tour. They were down by 5 to 4a LCM and half and then lost by 11. LCM played 12 players. They were tied with NW( last years 2a State Qualifier ) and ended down by 10. NW played 10 players. They Beat 4a Cor. by 2 ,after being up by 14 at the half. They also played 10 players. They got blew out by OF last night, they were just tired from playing so many games, and OF played only one game yesterday.  So in all I say that they have had a good tournament. There is not a team that they will face that is anywere close to as good , and deep as what they have played this weekend. They sill have to play EC at 1:30 today. So before you [color=red]uknowit[/color] start talking about things YOU DONT KNOW get some of your fact straight. Evadale is also playing short one of they starters that is the 2 in scoring. Not making any excuses just letting you know we are all proud of they way they have played so far. And their inside game has played pretty solid this weekend. Their 2 big kids have 35 blocks in 4 games. And they are still having prob. with not having a point guard but they are working on it. And I am not throwing anyone under the bus, they know that is their week spot. But you have to play with what you have. Being 1a you cant go to the JV  ,like in 2 and 3a and pull anyone up, there is no one.

After the NW and Evadale game I went and told there coach that he had a fine group of kids , and I told the team that they had played a good game and wished them luck in their next games. During the Evadale OF game a group of NW fans sit behind the Evadale bench and bad mouth the intire team.. Then after the game they contiued to bash the KIDS..  Like I said they got kicked out of 2 games that they won... What is going to happen when they lose to HJ tonight :o

Ec playes Evadale at 1:30.. After being at the gym for 2 days I have seen some very hard played games. But I have to say the New Waverly has the most classless fans I have seen in 20 years of watching Highschool Basketball. They had a fan thrown out of the Evadale game, that they were up by 10 points, then had 2 fans kicked out of the EC game during half time for verbally attacking a Evadale player.  Their head coach handled him self and his team with class but their fans were trash talking, low class fools.
