Should be a good game, neither team has a big inside game and rely on speed and good shooting. Should match up good. I think they split this year with a win at home each. Just dont see eather one going very far in the playoffs. The lack of size will hurt both teams.

Because you are absolutley correct. Some do get a little "rude", though I wouldnt dare say classless at times!!! HJ has no Gestapo like characters? I thought every town did, Huntington just had a few more than most.
More specific reference is when a uniformed officer informed a spectator(supporting the opposition, of course) in the Huntington Gym (HJ not involved) that they were yelling too loud for their team and would be removed (no profanities or language issues were involved) if they did not stop.
Now that is a home court adantage ;D

Never said that this tour. was going to be eazy. But if they just wonted to put up wins they could have play a cup cake schedule, like Vidor. ;D They chose to play bigger faster teams to help them when they reach the playoffs. Look at who they are playing this year, not one school smaller all eather their size or bigger.. Do I think they can win this tour. ? NO .. but I do think they can play with most of these teams ?Yes They will not get embarrassed.. It will be a little harder playing without one of their starters, but one of the younger guys will have to step up. Adversitys that do not kill you can only make you stronger ;) Come late Feb. I look for them to be one of the few area team still playing basketball. -

Dont take me wrong I know that there will be alot of good teams in the EC tour. including EC I am just saying that with Evadale being the smallest school there they will not get blew out and should play everone there tuff. For the last few years they have not had a team that could play with any 2 or 3a clubs. And we know that Dunigan has got to keep his head in the games, he came home last night and was putting the lose totally on the fact he misted 2 inside 2 foot shoots.. After watching the film he had 19 points 21 boards 5 blocks 5 steals 6 assist but he still felt like he let the team down. He gets the maddest at himself for making mistakes he knowes he should not make, and some people take it as he is upset at someone else. -

I dont think a 3 game is needed at this point, but I can tell you all this much..Right now the Rebs are not scared to lace it up with anyone.. They are playing this next week at the EC tour. and are the only 1a team. And other than HJ I see no one that they should have trouble with.. Just wish that they had their whole team playing. 6 games in three days is hard when you dont have a deap bench. Not saying they will win them all but they will not get blew out and wont be a eazy draw for any team ;) -

Your right and you have to knock down those down in games that close. Your not going to have a better chance to beat a good team like Kountze than what they had last night. To work that hard and not take adavantge of the free shots is hard to take. But there is some good news today, #32 is only going to be out 2 weeks. And to those that said the Kountze had there worst game, the presure def. that Evadale played and the blocks on the inside had a lot to do with the way they played. The first time they played Koun. made 14 open 3 pointers, last night they had pressure on every shot. -

I have been wonting to post ever since I got home but had to wait and cool off.. :D The Rebs played a great def game but the lack of a true point guard realy came out at the end of this game.. You just cant turn the ball over at that time of the game. When #3 has to help with the press it realy affects his 3point shot. and with #32 out the other two big players just got tired. They dominated the paint all night. 21 did play the hardest game I have seen him play all year, but he just ran out of gas. Congats to Kountze on the win and Congrats to the Rebs on a hard fought game. Things will get better when they start playing schools their own size. I to wont to thank AggiesAreWe and Setxsports for comming to this little Gym and airing our games... -
big bounceback win :)
Nice way to get back on track, by beating a power house team like Legacy :o They should be able to handel any private or 1a team in the area that they might face the rest of the year ;D -
There is a JV game that will start at 5:30 and Vr should start at about 6:30 to 6:45
I wouldn't put much stock in the win over Spurger minus Whittacre.Evadale has a nice inside out game with #32 and #3.The games that I've seen them play #32 has been the key to what they do from beating the pressure to kicking the ball out to the shooter. The blonde headed post player and #21 are good role players. They have a very good coach but have asome holes that will limit how far they advance in the post season.
You must have seen games early this year because# 43,32, 21 are all with in 10 points and 10 rebounds of each other. So with all of them on the court at the same time they are aver. 29 ppg thats going to be hard to stop. But the hole that you are refering to is the point guard, they still have problems with teams that press the ball in the back court, but their working on that with a new line up. We will see how far they have come this Tues when the play Kountze for the 2 time, they had their hands full the first time.

You are right about #3 shooting the open shoot, but this team runs through their three big Srs. they combined for 18 boards and 30 points, and dominated the paint. At this point Evadale has played 14 games, 12 of those have been against larger schools. The 2 1a schools have been Caugua, defending 1a state champs and runner up state champions Spurger. They play Caugua to a 9 point lost and they beat Spurger soundly. I think some people that were doubting them at the start of this year might wont to take another look.
Wha's wrong with Whittacre,Spurger won't be anywhere near their best without him.
They said that George took an elbow to the chest Thur. against B City, and he had pain whenever he raised his arms. Dont realy know what to think about this game. At the 2 min. mark of the 4 qr Evadale had a 20 point lead, then pulled the starters out. But with out George playing they did not see the real Spurger team. But I dont think he would have made a 20 point difference, so I dont know if Evadale is better than some people think or Spurger is not as strong as some thought. I do think both teams will represent there dist. in the playoff well. Good luck to all the fokes in Spurger and hope George gets well soon.
-
Well this game was not what i was expecting, but with Spurger's big not able to play they realy had no inside game at all. Here are the numbers on the Evadale #43 6 boards 12 points # 32 4 boards 4 points #3 21 points #21 8 boards 14 points and 5 blocks.
It will depend on the big kid from Evadale.I think his number is 32,if he can slow Whitaker without a double team it will be close ,if not Spurger will win easily.Spurger gets the edge in the paint and on the point while Evadale has an advantage shooting from the perimeter. While I really like Spurgers young coach Evadale has a basketball guru on the sideline.Overall I think Spurger wins by 6. Spurger -66 Evadale-60
I dont know if you have seen Evadale this year, but there is no way you can say that Spurger has the edge in the paint.. Evadale has a 6'7'' and 2 6'4 players when Spurger only has Whitaker and 6'2'' Now Spurger has got a large advantage at the point guard. But I will take Evadale with 7 play makers against Spurgers 2. But we will find all this out in about two and a half hours..
I was just curious if Evadale was wealthy and had ever been 2A. I didnt think it correlated at all to their basketball team. I am sure what ever money they should have within their district is pulled away from them"hence robin hood" and given to other districts. I had just heard Evadale at one time was 2A and that had the best facilties you would find anywhere for 1A. That was all I was curious about. I think Spurger wins concerning the game.
Iwill try to answer the questions you have asked. Evadale was at one time the 5 wealthys school in Texas, but after the Robin hood tax their not there anymore. They have been a 2a one time a long time ago. But they have also been a B size school. As far as the facitlies go they were the first school in the area to have a new gym, and it was the best around. But now with EC, HJ, Kountze, D-Vill, K-vill ,Spurger, Buna, all having new gyms they are just one of the best. Now as far as the game goes there is only one team that both have played, thet being B-City Evadale had no trouble beating them, and Spurger just won by 4 so this should determine who is the best small school in the Area.

Nederland vs Vidor Predictions
True Blue replied to ForeverADog's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Nederland in a big blow out.. As soon as Vidor falls behind they will have on ideal what to do, seeing that this will not be one of the cupcake games they have played all year. Starters will have to play more min. than they have played all year, and they wont have the legs.. 80 to 35 if Nederland let the bench play much.. -
That takes place at ever level. I read that Jackson's mom was calling the Minn. coaching staff and trying to find out why her son was not playing before Farve got there... :o
