Well  how many times have you made stataments about my son and when and were he will play? And that he could not make this team are that team? But if you wont to stand behind this screen and make attacks that is your right. Me I stand in the middle of the room and make my oppions. And no one will ever have a hard time finding me. I have said that I did see Silsbee play some games and they looked to be a one man team, you told me that the hole team was not playing at that time so I SAID THAT I had not seen all the games and that if they had players not playing I might be wrong. And my prediction on WOS was baced on who their coach was going to be ,  but at that time he had not been named for sure so I could not say anything. But go back and read my post I have allways said that it was going to be at close year between all three teams.

I dont wont to cause trouble for the Basketball program in HJ. If he playes there he will forsure live there or were ever he playes. I just find it funny that you two know so much about this kid that did not even start at eather school that he has played for.

I think that the 3 teams at the top will be the same as last year. And on any night, any of the three can win if they have a good game. Silsbee did look good at the tourment But so did a lot of teams, The only prob. that I had a the games is that Evadale had to play a back to back game with only 5 players and when they were going to pick up a player from Spurger the head coach from Silsbee came on the floor and made the kid leave. I thought that this was a summer game that NO COACHES were to be a part of. But I guess that the big 3a team was not going to let a little 1a team have any advantage on a game that ment so much. ;D And no were have you heard me hating on Silsbee or Ktz last year. I said from the start that Ktz was the strongest team in that dist. but they played undiscipline. and it showed in the playoff game that they lost. As great of a player as Deven was he should have never been the one bringing the ball up the floor and taking that 35 ft shot at the end of that game. Long rebound, fast break and a fooles foul did them end , after playing a good hard game up to that point.  But unlike some people on this sight I will always pull for my sons team, but I WILL NEVER PUT DOWN ANY KID OR ATTACK ANY KID. I will have different opinions with some coaches and fans but thats part of the game. But if you have not heard my home was one of the homes that got damaged, when the storm came through Nome so as of right now I do not have a place for us to stay. I am having it fixed but dont know if it will be before school starts. If not I do not know were he will go to school this year but were ever he starts that is were he will finish he will not move again.

So We Will See What The 9 and 10 Grade Boys Will Do.They Have Nothing To Lose,They Will Be All Back In 2012 2013   [/quote] Saying no one gets hurt in football this year, Evadale will have the best team in Basketball this year since the 2001 state champs.  They should win this Dist. and make some noise in the playoffs. But they have not play BS there in a few years and BS allways playes good at home.

Only watched one game but HJ beat Spurger . Very good game untill the last 2 min. when Grayson hit 4 threes in a row and HJ pulled ahead. Very good showing for a 1a school going up against a 3a club. Sure hope that George can get someone to look at him for the next level.

What is the schedule going to be ?? I Know HJ plays Spurger at 4:30 but would like to know some other game times please.

Wow this looks like the making of some great games. Cant wait to see what times the games will be, looks like there will be some sick days used this week.  doesnt look like any easy draws, better come ready to play from the first game.

Tonight is the last night for play in Kountze summer league  5pm Warren VS Sils. V  6pm Spurger VS Lumb  7 pm HJ VS KTZ V 8pm Evadale VS Silsbee JV

The Potts kid that set out last year will play this year and I dont think there is a faster player in that Dist. I have watch them play this summer and he has got to work on his ball handling skills a little, the setting out one year did hurt him but I think he will realy help them push the ball up the floor. Well WOSgrad you have nothing to worry about. I know YOUR new Basketball coach will not be using Universal weight lifting program over there. He will not have his basketball players, during their season, out on the football feild pulling tires or pussing the sleads. So just set back and watch the HF program and see if it workes for them.

[/quote] Because that is what he is being paid to do (win in football, not kill other programs).  Again, that is how it goes in a small 3A school, the AD is the head football coach. But I still do not see how working on agilities or plyometrics or even lifting weights 2-3 times a week is bad for any high school athlete any time of the year.  I will agree that I wasn't the biggest fan of lifting when I was playing, and I still don't necessarily agree with it, but hey if that's what the coach told us to do, we did it.  [b]His team, his choice, he will live and or die by it[/b], so just let it be. [/quote] That is not quite so, The football program is what he will be acountable for not the other programes. So if the basketball or baseball  programs or no winning they will be replaced not him. If he was judged on the success of the hole athletic program, like a real CEO is held for his job, I think things would be different.

I think the biggest complaint I have is to have a AD that is the head football coach tell another coach (basketball or baseball ) what he should be having his team doing during their season. I do think that lifting will make them stronger and even faster, but that program should be run by that coach during his season. If your going to have the football coach run the hole program then save the tax payers some money and have him coach all sports and just hire assistance.

Looks like the rummer that I heard is true, Looks like Jason Wilkins is going to WOS as their head coach, so this season will be good one to be a part of. Cant wait for it to start. Best of luck to him and his new team, except when they play HJ  ;D

But I just got on and Like I said go look back at the 15 years of success that EC has had and call those coaches. Hoffpauir Sutherland Hargroves and see how many of them had their teams doing any football training during BB season. I see that some has allready said that it is not the fact of lifting or not it is the fact of lossing time to work on BB. I agree that you have to work on being stronger and faster but not during the little time you have during season. Go get coach Andrews on the side and ask him if he would not have benefit by more time in the gym. I know he is young and has not got the experience that some older coaches have so he must do what ever his boss ( the AD Head football coach ) tell him he has to. But I bet geven his choise he would have his team in the Gym as offen as he could.

My wifes nephew was the leader on that team and my son played on the 2000 team for Evadale and I know they never touch a weight during BB season. And I know the 3 coaches that took the EC teams to the state games, and they never lifted during the season. So you need to get you fact stright before you make a statment like that. This Topic is about offseason football workouts during BB season, and you still have not proven were it has help any team. If you are OK with having a average team in every sport and going 1 or maybe 2 games into the playoffs thats fine, but some wont to have verygood team and make several trips to Austin. JMO for what is worth.
