Coach Andrews has made a few changes , that seem to have helped the Bucs keep the pressure on when they get a lead now. Before when they got up they seem to try and not loss instead of keep puting on the pressure. He has moved Carrington to the 4 and Green to the 3 with Dunigan at the 5. Before he keep trading out Carrington and Dunigan, but now he is playing them at the same time and that has helped out on the boards. And DaBoss they may not be that good but they beat you at home and will beat you at EC so i guess that makes Harden ( ) you fill in the blank :D
OK..........I have always believed that the young people on the court were a reflection of their coaching staff. Tonight was no exception....The head coaches for both these schools...1) COACHED THEIR PLAYERS..2) ALLOWED US TO DO OUR JOB and as a result the kids played hard and do not complain....Thanks to both coaching staffs for this....OUR CHILDREN ARE MIRRORED REFLECTIONS OF WHAT WE GIVE THEM!!!! ON ANOTHER NOTE..............TRUE BLUE ...IT WAS A PLEASURE TO MEET YOU FACE TO FACE AND TALK BASKETBALL......MADE MY DINNER THAT MUCH BETTER.
Thank you Sr but the pleasure was all mine.It is allways great to talk Basketball to someone that just enjoys a good ball game. And again cong. on being selected to call a state game.

44 to 67 Ec I think Thats what is was with 1 min left
-
JMO but Evadale is hurting by not having a true point guard so that being said I think if they try to run with the sharks the trunovers will cost them the game. But if they slow down and play a 1/2 court game and use their size adv. they should pull this one out. But will be a close game and won in the 4 or 5 qr ;)

They play backetball just about year around and it showes. This realy showes early in the season when teams are adjusting from football to basketball. I am glad to see them having another good year and I hope this is the year to see them in the State Tour. I have watch this group play sence they were 10 yearsold , glad to see the hard work that they have put in start paying off.
This makes no sense to me, if this is true then why has spurger had such a drought in making the the playoffs untill the last couple of years. Every school has players that plays summer ball or AAU ball so I dont think its any where near a perfect example of why Spurger(with a P) ;) has been doing well for the last couple of years.
All I ment is that without playing football they are in the gym early and are in BB shape at the first of the season. You know that most kids that play both sports are not in the gym during football season. And it takes them 2 to 3 weeks to get in to BB shape. It has been proven that you only run about 6 to 7 min in a entire football game. You run more than that in the first Qr of a BB game. Sorry SPURGER ;D -
I would rather have two new schools, renovate two schools and have a new gym like HJ has than just have a new gym like EC has.........I LOVE the HJ gym just wish is was slightly bigger and possibly with stadium seating as well.
That is like saying your girlfriend has a buttherface You love everthing BUT HER FACE :D
having different refs wont change the out come of the game true blue
Sorry did not mean to imply that different refs. would change the out come of this game. Just that there will not be anyplay ground playing allowed. On the play ground the trashing talking is part of the game, JMO the UIL fers let the playing get out of hand then tryed to keep the talking from happening. I think the TASO fers will get on top of the trashing talking from the start and there wont be the techs called. But keeping it real I dont see any team in this dist. beating the Lions. If their two stars stay healty could be a trip to Austin
-
Very happy that EC players steped up and played a good game without 3 of their players. Glad that they have gotten back on the winning track. Now it is time to take care of rest of their dist. games. Hope to see them keep up the intensity that they are now playing.
True Blue pulling the H-J card....Get'em TB. It will be a closer game at EC....33 being out is not what cost EC, it was the lack of guard play when the press started wearing them out.
Yea your right the lack of to true point guard is hurting them But the lack of rebounds did not help. The EC coach changed his starting lineup in that game and it helped He started 5 guards with no center, then in 4 min. he put in both post players at the same time When that happen Kounze had ever few Off. boards, But when 33 ran his mouth with 15 and got his tech, that took that advange away. Kounze can jump out of the gym but with 2 bigger players in at the same time it helped on the boards.
Swag has made it hard to like Kountze this year..but True Blue I didn't know it was so important to you that EC stopped Kountze from dunking...I'd be more worried about getting blown out.. Small moral victory? ::)
I have said that Kounze was a better team, and I new that the lack of a true poing guard was going to hurt EC but the EC kids heard all week how many dunks that they were going to get. They have dunked and talked trash on everteam that they have played, even the game that they lost. And it was not important to me but it was to them, not to allow any dunks. And your right about not getting blowed out but they have betten most teams that they have played by more. But when 33 got his tech and the coach set him out they were only down by 13 points. He realy hurt his team by not being on the floor, after that Kounze realy started taking over the off. boards.
-
Well swaglet How many Ally woops did you get against EC( for the ones not there) NONE How many did you try, 1 and 33 blocked it How many dunks did you get with him on the floor ( for the ones not there) NONE Like I have said the Kounze team was and is a better team But I listened all week how they were going to dunk on EC all night and that did not happen. So I think he back himself up just fine. The reason that I say that the dunks for Kounze are just showoffs is because I watch them Dunk and pump up the fans and watch the HJ team just make layups on the other end ;D And yes If the HJ team is shooting 3s and holding up 3 fingers in the other teams face that is showing off and trying to showup another player. I have never seen that happen But I will take your word for it. But you are right I have only watch a few Kounze games but in those games I have seen the same thing happen so I just guess that goes on in ever game.
-
You have prob. watched more KZ games than I have but the two that I have seen that kid in the HJ game when he got his 4 foul goes to the bench and when the coach tryed to talk to him he put his hand in the coaches face and turn away. I have that on film So if tha this what you call control I just disagree. He kid has great ability just is ,to me, to much of showoff. Dont see any collage coach putting up with the Attituade. As far as showing class for setting a player for getting a tech and can clearly see that is not the case in Kounze seeing they had two players get tech for running their mouths. But looks like that is OK in Kounze.
EC played well for 2 quarters and got tired in the 3rd qtr. Lacking a true PG hurt them. 33 for EC, their big man, got a tech in the 2nd qtr and sat the rest of the game.
EC coach showed class and integreity by setting 33 for the tech he got when he and 15 for Kounze got dubbel techs. His lost realy cost the bucs on the boards but he should have keep his mouth shut. And it is clear who is running the Kounze team, That was the first time in all the yearts that I have watch High school ball that I saw a coach send a player on the floor and the other player tell he he was not comming out. That player has tons of ibility but would not play for most coaches that I have seen. But EC did play a very good game and the dunks and alley oops were not there for Kounze they only had one brakeaway dunks and EC ansewerd right back with a dunk of there own. You also can see why Kounze uses UIL for there games. There is a whole lot of playground plays allowed that will not be in the State playoffs.
True Blue, all of your posts on this subject matter have obviously pointed out that you think #33(your son) should always be on the floor. You have made that quite clear. Don't crawfish and say you just want them to win, regardless of who is on the floor. All of your posts regarding EC basketball has had an agenda attached to it. We know what that agenda is, don't we. ;) ::)
I would like for you to show me were I have ever put my son or anyone above winning. I do feal that they are not using him as they should but that is like beating a dead horse they dont feed the ball to anyone inside. I have talked to the coach a he said that they try to work on feeding both post players but come game time that seams to never happen. So that being said on this night the two players that I have pointed out should have been on the floor at the end of THAT game. As far as my son goes he is getting his playing time and when in he is producing That is all he can do. He is leading the whole team in rebounds, blocks and free throwes and 2 in scoring. So he is happy to be playing at EC. Just wonts to win and move on in the playoffs
-
Were did I say that the coaches were not qualified. What I said is that on this one night that the players that were on the floor at the end of this game had not produced anything in this one game. And there were two sitting on the bench that had been putting up points. Everyone has a off game and when that happens you have to go with the one that are. In the next game the starters might have a great game and then they need to stay on the floor and the backups need to play less. JMO but you have to adjust to who is hot on that night and you have to put those 5 players on the floor that night. Everone has said that this team has not got a star player but they have 8 that are pretty good and you have to find out witch 5 of those 8 are on that night and get them on the floor. The fact about my sons playing time has nothing to do with the fact I wont them to win first. If he is playing or not I just wont them to win, and have a winning season.
There is no sense trying to make these kids something there not. These coaches have consistantly took teams pretty deep over the years. They know what they are doing.Just relax and let them do what they get paid to do,they are pretty good at it.The teams that are beating EC right now are just a little better than they are, it probably wouldn't matter who was on the floor the results would be the same.
Well this tells me alot. The head coach is only in his 2 year and one of his assistances has never been around basketball untill this year. The head coach did take a team to the 2 round last year but I would not call that CONSISTANTLY. You had me going untill this post ???
