[/quote] Dont use that crap for an excuse Look at the games that Ec played. They played just as many games. They were in ever game an only lost by a few at the end with one going to overtime. So they were just as tired. What did hurt HJ was lossing the big kid. When EC put their 6'6'' kid on the floor HJ had no inside game. This EC team has gotten better evernight and come playoff time they will be OK. And HJ has showen how to beat Koun. Get one of their two big men in foul trouble. They have no bench inside. You can not beat the two of them together they are the best tandum I have ever seen at this level. But you can take them one at a time HJ showed you that. GREAT GAME EC Swagg that why they play the game ;D

HJ and New Waverly are on the sameside of the bracket so they cant meet in the Finials . Looks like Ec on one side and whoever wins out of those two, in the finials

I hope this kid is allright, He is a good kid very respectful and good ballplayer. Always playes with class, and today that is hard to find. Just wish someone new what happen and that he was going to be allright.

Being hardheaded cost the Bucs this game . They ran in to a Ref that loved to call the charge. They got 7 charging fouls in the first half that cost them 14  fast break points. They have got to learn to play to the Ref and not against them. In ever case they had a 2 or3 on 1 fastbreak and just refused to give up the ball and just ran over the 1 defender. JMO they need to run hours of 3 on 1 drills to learn to share the ball.

[/quote] You can bet that someone is watching that showboating and when they run the play were they come up the rightside and throw it off the board for the dunk on the leftside. If I am coaching I will have a player watch for this one play and when you run it I am getting set to block out on the leftside when he jumps to dumk am am taking his legs out with a good box out. once he eats the floor a few times that play will stop. Play good basketball and leave the showboating to the Pro.

This will be a good test for the BUCS before the HJ Tournament

I hear that the teams have been invited to play this game at Ford Park .To open for  the Semi Pro game. I think that this is great for the players from both schools.

[/quote] You are right , you have to have 3 point in the frontcourt before you can be called for backcourt. You can cross the middle stripe with you feet but if the ball never comes in the frontcourt you can go back across. The Ref that called the game that I watch did not know this. I saw him after he missted that call, ask the other Ref if he had made the right call. The guy just laughed and walked off.  I Watch the same Ref in another game call travel on a kid for catching his shot after getting it blocked. He called it up and down. The other guy try ed to tell him he misted the call but he had already gave the ball to the other team and the play had started. I am not trying to call this Ref out just wont him the make the right calls when Dist. games start.

You are right on point. A judgement call that everone will see their own way But a rule call can only be made one way. I was just asking if anyone ever watch and told these guys when they make the wrong call on a rule violation?I watch a ref make a backcourt call when the player only put one foot in the frontcourt and turned to go the otherway. He called backcourt, The rule states that there must be 3 points in the front court in order to be backcourt.After the game the Ref said he did not know this new rule. That was just one call, I watch several others, I just hope they get it wright come Dist. play. I have never lost a game because of a Ref, but they can change the momentum of a game. Most games are lost and won by making and missing shots.

After watching this weekend Tournaments games , There is little dough that Koun. is as strong as any team in the area. The other teams that were impressave were The Evadale Rebels, and the East Chambers Buc's. The Rebels play two really strong games to win 3, there inside game is strong and their outside shooter can hit the openshot. The Bucs were ahead in ever game by 10 points, but ran out of gas to lose in the 4 Qr And I know you have to play all 4 Qrs. But not bad for only having 1 prac. and 1 game going in to the Toun. As soon as they get their Basketball legs and learn to play with their new center they will make some noise in Dist. play.

Sorry I read it as Mediocrity of Refs, and OF. But I have said my peace and I will get off my soap box ;D ;D

If you get payed for a job you are a Professional. Part time or not. And for the most part they do, do a good job. But this weekend I watch a few make ruling call that were wrong, not judgement. I just wonted to know if anyone told them that they made the wrong call. I know that on a judgement call that everone will not see it the same. But on a rule there is just one call to make. Not meaning to put anyone down just wont to see them get it right when dist. play starts. These early games should be used for the refs to get ready for dist. play just like for the players.

Lazeek You need to read the definition of professional. It is some that gets payed for a job. It does not state the amount. So if you take the money get ready for all that comes with it, good and bad. Whsalum maybe if more refs concerned themself professionals they would make more effort to do a good job. Like I have said , most ARE doing a good job but for the ones that are not someone should watch these games and point out what they have done right and wrong, they maybe they can get it right the next time.  Never have I said that they were making bad calls on purpose. It is just maybe that they don't know the exact rule.

But I am also paying for a Professional Ref to call these games. If your job performance is poor and and you make that many Mistakes you should not be allowed to call High school V games. Call JV and little dribblers until you can perform as a Professional. Not one person that I know go to the games to watch Refs. As a professional ref. you should never become a part of the game. I do know that for the most part the refs. that call highschool game are OK but it only takes one to make the rest look bad.

Ref are human and they do make misstakes, but they also are grown men getting payed to do a job. With that being said if in the real world  you do a bad job at something and make that many mistakes, and you are getting payed  that will be a short job.  I just hate to see bad calls that can change a game one way or the other. JMO the best ref. is the one that when the game is over you cant even remember who he was

I too was at the Evadale games and I would like to know how the guy get the stripes to call V games. There were some real bad calls,not to sayany team got specially treatment, but I am just hoping I do not see any of these guys in games that really mean something. Watch one guy make bad calls the hole game for both sides and then with 1.6 sec on the clock in a tied game make a cheep blocking call at midcourt to decide the game. Everone came to the games to watch kids play and not to watch grown men decide games. As far a player rotation, at this time of the year most coaches are using these games to find out what kid can play together, and who can handle the pressure. But to come on here and to call out one coach is not cool. If you wont to make the starting lineup all you have to do is go back to school for 4 years, take a job that pays way too little , for the time you have to spend, and then you can play anyone YOU wont. We all see things that we would do different, but ever coach has put in his time so please respect that.

I know what happen Evadale play a solid game and Colmesneil is really bad. Watch point guard dribble ball off his face on a fast break with no one on him. With the football team having a good run I thought that they would have had better athletes. But looks like they did not play Basketball. Looked like they were real young. Evadale looks strong to start off year and could make some noise this year. Spurge is still the front horse but looks like the Rebels will give Sabine Pass a run for the 2 spot.

Kountze Should win this turn.  with a point spreed of 50 + per game. Watch everyone play today and unless the bus runs out of gas on the way to the gym, everyone else is playing for second. :o :o
