1. I am glad that HighIsland has pulled together and made a team ,but the UIL has made a joke out of the playoffs, by letting a 1 win team make the playoffs. Thats what is wrong with alot of kids today, letting every kid get a reward just for playing. Life is not that way ,there are winners and losers. The fact that they have pulled together and gotten enough to field a team and worked hard, they still have only won 1 game. Life goes on ,and basketball will start on Monday, and it only take 5 to play. Take that hard work to the court, and make some of those teams pay for beating them on the football fields.
 2.
true blue you are mean
I am not being mean . Its not their fault , but its a joke for a one win team to make any playoff. Schools or straped for money now and having to make a trip for a game that there is little chance for them to even stay close, must less win, is a waste of fuel, money and time.. They need to be getting ready to play basketball. I am glad that they were able to get enough players healthy to make a full team, but to make it to the playoff is just a waste.
 3. High Island makes the playoffs with only winning one game :( :( :o :o
 4. Your right they will But The High and Mighty Rep. are above that, Right?? Are they say they are
 5. Questioning America's minimum wage has somehow become a rite of passage in the Republican presidential primary. Michele Bachmann has said she wouldn’t rule out lowering it. Ron Paul has predictably said it should be eliminated entirely. And Rick Perry, in his book "Fed Up!: Our Fight to Save America from Washington", has rued the role the commerce clause played in "creating national minimum-wage laws" and "establishing national labor laws." But when it comes to battling our $7.25-an-hour wage floor, these contenders have neither the vision nor the resume of current frontrunner Herman Cain. Cain's time in the restaurant business was marked by a long and largely successful battle against minimum-wage increases, and even today, some 15 years later, many of the nation's waiters and waitresses have Cain and the restaurant lobby to thank for a federal minimum wage of $2.13 for tipped workers. And that not the top 1% now is it????
 6. Linda Wall, a conservative independent Virginia candidate for the House of Delegates, admitted on Wednesday that she had an affair with a female student as a junior high gym teacher in the early 1970. Just another example of how hypocritical the Rep party is.  Republican candidate Matt Fariss was named in a 2002 emergency protective order against a local woman, and was convicted in separate incidents for holding a concealed weapon and drunk driving
 7. Economic growth increased at its fastest in a year in the third quarter as consumers and businesses set aside fears about the recovery and stepped up spending, creating momentum that could carry into the final three months of the year. Though part of the increase came from the reversal of temporary factors that had restrained growth, the expansion was a welcome relief for an economy that looked on the brink of recession just weeks ago......     Lets wait and see how the Rep. spin this one......
 8. Sorry I dont see Kountze staying within 25 points of HJ this yr :(  HJ has to much size and just better players for Koun. to match up with. I know the HJ coaches will not wont to run up the score so I look for a lot of playing time for the second string in this game. Sorry UTFAN it just wont happen this yr...

The Rebels will return three starters from last years State Runner Up team in shooting guard, Devon Murphy; small forward, Shawn Totten and point guard, Brandon Bruce. The Rebels lost the big senior class in numbers and height, but a couple of other players from last years team can be looked on to fill those wholes. Post, Kyle Taylor got plenty of playing time last season and playoff experience as well. Bradien Burford also was brought up from the JV by coach Laurence Williams so there are five players (four of those are seniors) who bring plenty of experience and knowledge of the system into this season. There are some talented players that will make the move up from the JV squad too!
Will The Rebels Win There Dist. ;D ;D ;D ;D
I think it will be a 3 team race this yr between Hull, BS, and the Rebs. The Rebs will be trying to replace 3 all dist big guys and learing to play a different style of ball. I look of them to strugel in predist. just like in football, but by the time dist. rolls around they should be playing good ball. The key to this yr, as in all yrs, is to limit the turnovers, and get their shooting guard open looks. They are going to be smaller than they have been in 3 yrs, so they will have to relia on speed and good shooting.
And don't forget that weak district you're in  ;D :o
;D ;D Seems to me that ,that WEAK District had the ONLY local team playing in Austin last yr when the local power house ball clubs were playing BASEBALL ;D ;D

 14. Just seem to me that if the HJ coaching staff worked half as hard perparing for the ball game, as they are doing investigate this horrible crime, they would not get beat 60 to 6

 18.

ok Guy..I have no problem with Burkeville, they are not even on the radar to everyone. I just feel that there are going to be some teams around the area that wont go to the playoff that are a heck of a lot more deserving than the Mustangs who have gotten blown out of every game this year and beat a High Island team with barely enough players to field a team.
Dont know why your dogging Brukeville? Their going to make the playoffs for winning 2 games, But HighIsland can also make the playoff by only winning 1 GAME. With all the schools having to lay teachers off because lack of money, Why cant the do anything about this waste of money. Yout talking about two schools having to travel , feed the players, feeding the bands members ,for a game that will only being a warm up game for the second place teams. Until the UIL does anything it is what it is.  Burkeville cant do anything about it and in the end the best team still ends up at the top.  Theres three teams in the district so saying theres more teams deserving doesnt make any sense.  Maybe in another district or higher classification but thats why you play each team in your district.
Dont
 19.

At high school age they're more than capable of realizing we're in a SEVERE drought, on top of being stupid and burning their own football field. If it weren't for the drought and recent wildfire I would say just re-sod the area and give them a good in-school punishment, but come on... law enforcement needs to come down on them as well.
:o :o Drought, On a Football field??? I have never seen green grass burn, At least they werent smoking crack, or making meth. Come on Law enforcement comming down on kids, What a fool you sound like>>>>
I'm not saying put them in jail or anything extreme. But think about it, the entire STATE is in a drought. People's cigarettes are causing fires worth millions. Had that fire left at all (though I'm not familiar with HJ's layout) a lot more could have been damaged. Give me a break, they're 16-18 year olds. They're practically adults. I'm 18, I should be able to say that with confidence
Well seeing its 8:30 on a fridaynight in Texas and You said that you were 18, I take it you have never seen a Football field, But it gets watered every day and its keep cut short and its green, There is NO way That a fire can get away and the only way you can get it to burn is to use diesel... Take it from someone that knowes how to make a letter on someones football field ;) Thank god for on film :D :D
 20. Wow no one saw this one comming ;D Now just dont pull a Dallas .
 21. Dont remember playing HF in football last yr ;)  Just to be they could not have played them in Basketball as a warm up game for the playoffs, Oh yea HF was on the baceball field at that time ;D
 22.
Yep, its hard enough trying to be good in one.  Unless it's football and we all know thats one of the easiest sports to play :D
Well its pretty easy at HF AND HJ , just run out and laydown for 48 min.
