Proof! President Obama Will Win 2012

People didn’t just sweat their way to upward mobility in the past. The federal government’s role in the creation of American middle class is undeniable and central. And our middle-class republic didn’t crash because average Americans forgot how to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. I’m not going to pretend to have all of the answers, but I know one of the major causes in our decline has been the growing gap between the rich and the rest of us. That gap is the widest it’s been in a century, and the future isn’t looking promising. Job growth is disproportionately coming from low-wage areas like food prep and retail clerks. The growing cleavage between the classes can be traced back as far as 1979. That’s when gains in productivity began to outpace worker incomes. That fact alone can help explain the frustration of many Middle Americans. Some of us achieved the college degree our parents never earned, and we could afford the finer things they couldn’t. Most working Americans just soldiered on. Wage gains kept flat-lining or falling in comparison to the costs of living. The climb of upward mobility got steeper. Wage shortfalls could be made up with E-Z credit, for a while anyway. The ruins of that way of life are all around us. Much is made of the massive federal deficit these days. I have a way we can solve that: more jobs. More jobs mean more growth and more tax revenue. Problem is, America’s job creators – the middle class consumers – are tapped out. Business owners can’t hire until they have consumers to sell to. That leaves the job of stimulating demand to the government. Time for government to lay the groundwork for our future by investing in our middle class. That is, if we really want an America with a middle class But we all know that the Reps and the Bush Oil machine will not let that hapen..Income inequality grew significantly in 2005, ( The Bush Years) with the top 1 percent of Americans - those with incomes that year of more than $348,000 - receiving their largest share of national income since 1928, analysis of newly released tax data shows. The top 10 percent, roughly those earning more than $100,000, also reached a level of income share not seen since before the Depression. While total reported income in the United States increased almost 9 percent in 2005, the most recent year for which such data is available, average incomes for those in the bottom 90 percent dipped slightly compared with the year before, dropping $172, or 0.6 percent. The gains went largely to the top 1 percent, whose incomes rose to an average of more than $1.1 million each, an increase of more than $139,000, or about 14 percent. The new data also shows that the top 300,000 Americans collectively enjoyed almost as much income as the bottom 150 million Americans. Per person, the top group received 440 times as much as the average person in the bottom half earned, nearly doubling the gap from 1980 -

A Washington Post-ABC survey released Monday found that 60 percent of those polled expressed disapproval of Obama's handling of the economy. Thirty-four percent said his proposals were making the situation worse and 47 percent said they were having no effect – dismal soundings for a president headed into a re-election campaign. Only 19 percent said the country was moving in the right direction. Not that Republicans, or Congress as a whole, are in good odor with the voters. The Post-ABC News poll found only 28 percent approval for the job the Republicans are doing, and 68 percent disapproval. An AP-GfK survey last month put overall support for Congress at 12 percent – the lowest level ever in the survey's history. The tea party has also been hurt, according to the same poll, which found that 32 percent of those surveyed have a deeply unfavorable impression of the movement that helped give Republicans control of the House in the 2010 elections So people are not happy with Obama right now but there still not going to put another bible thumping, gun tote war hungry Rep back in office. -
What is this guy done that would make yall want him back in?
The notion that the stimulus failed has hardened into Republican orthodoxy, but it doesn't hold up. A study released last week by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office confirmed that as of June, between 1 million and 2.9 million people are working who wouldn't otherwise have been, thanks to the stimulus. That study wasn't an outlier. Several others came to similar conclusions, including one by the economists Alan Blinder and Mark Zandi. As Jared Bernstein notes, the analysis by Blinder and Zandi found that the stimulus was responsible for roughly 2.7 million jobs and increased the GDP in 2010 by a healthy 3.4 percent. But a payroll tax cut has been in effect since the start of the year, and as Bruce Bartlett, who served as a Treasury official in President George H.W. Bush's administration, wrote this week, "There is no evidence that the lower payroll tax has done much of anything to stimulate either spending or hiring." The Obama administration has proposed extending the cut into next year. Republicans oppose the idea. The Republicans only wont the tax cut for the top 1% not for the working class. -

There are the House, the Senate and the president needed to pass a bill into law. The Republicans control 1/3rd of that equation. Exactly what are they in control of? More gloom and doom :( :( :( Jobs are growing in the U.S. They've grown for 12 straight months under Obama's economic stimulus policies and, in 2010 alone, more jobs were added than in Bush's 8 years as president. Oh, the lies. How many times have you heard Republicans or even the media say that climate change, clean energy, and environmental policies are job killers? How many times have you heard the claims that Obama's efforts to improve the economy aren't working? How many times have you been told that peanut butter doesn't taste good with jam? (Okay, scratch that last one, that's a matter of opinion.) If you haven't heard yet, new data out by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics show that in 2010 the economy saw an increase of 1.1 million jobs. But what is a number like that without a reference point, right? Turns out that if you look back at the same stats over the past decade, you can see that is more than the total number of jobs created in Bush's 8 years as president. :( :( -
