What exactly qualifies him for the job? Being a head basketball coach is far different from being an AD. You can't say he is qualified for the job when he is not. How would you feel if someone took your job who had no experience or qualifications just because they were a nice guy or a hometown guy? You probably wouldn't be to happy about that. What would happen if he did get the job and BC loses for the next couple of years? Would you still be saying that he was qualified? No. You would be asking why BC hired a coach who was not qualified for the job.

I have a hard time figuring out why everyone on here is so convinced Briggs would do such a great job. I personally know and like the guy, but just liking somebody doens't mean that they should get a job. As far as I know, he has never been an AD, head football coach, or even a coordinator. This is part of the job requirement. Do you want to hire someone not qualified? Hometown boys and people everyone like are not always the most qualified.

2-22 on the season. It's been a long hard season, but the guys never gave up. After Friday, they have a chance to not finish in the basement. This would be a huge accomplishment for this group. 2 Freshmen and 3 Sophs on the varsity. They are getting a lot of experience and are improving everyday.

Newton won the tournament by 14 strokes. H-J and Bridge City tied for 2nd place. Conditions were horrible yesterday. Hats off to the girls for being out there.

Bridge City did a great job of running their offense last night and taking care of the ball. There was a span of about 3 minutes where the wheels fell off. THis young group is getting better each day. The whole team will be back next year with only 2 kids graduating. They should be able to pick up a few more wins next season.

So could the BC defense. They are allowing only 7 points per game and have pitched 4 shut outs.

Coach Fischer was a great addition for the staff. He is a great guy and has a brilliant football mind when it comes to secondary.

It was Kirbyville who insisted that BC make the long trip in the terrible conditions to play. I guess they thought they were pretty good. If it was a bunch of Freshmen, why didn't they want to play the BC Freshman team instead of the JV? Maybe there could have been a "freaking romp" in that game.

The series is now 7-3 Bridge City. Kirbyville has not won 7 games in the series.

You must not be able to read or speak. Everyone on the board has said that BC is at FULL STRENGTH. This means that NO ONE is hurt anymore. If K-Ville wins this game, then they are the better team. There will be no excuses made for players not playing due to injury because THEY ARE ALL HEALTHY. MAKE NO MISTAKE. THERE ARE NO PLAYERS HURT. I guess that was clear enough.

Did you read the response? Everybody is healthy for BC. These guys are just as excited about the game as you claim K-Ville is, maybe more. I can't wait for the game. It will be a great one.

Bridge City is 5-1. Giving up only 9 per game and scoring 23 per game.

You need to stop banking your season on beating 1 team. You have H-J this week. BC has Orangefield. I personally can't wait for the BC KVille game. It is going to be a good one.

Jasper is very athletic. Record doesn't show that. H-F played Silsbee tight. I don't know what happened there, but it is impressive that they only lost by 6. This promises to be a good game. I'm pulling for H-F, but I think the athletes in Jasper will be a little to much.

You're right. Lumberton at least throws out football stats and useful information. Is your tradition you are creating not losing to Bridge City?

what would the new girls's sport be? if boy's volleyball is added, a new girl's sport would have to be added because of title ix.
