1. 1. Nederland (Div I Top Seed) 2. Vidor (Div I Bottom Seed) 3. Ozen (Div II Top Seed) 4. LCM (Div II Bottom Seed) I originally thought PNG would still get in, but with the way they played at the Res. against Lumberton, I've lost all trust with that team making it in.
 2. LCM - 42 PNG - 31
 3.
You picked against the Dogs once and were wrong. You've got this one wrong too. This pick just hurt your percentage ;)
I don't want to say I told you so, but................  8)

It'S been nearly 24 hours and my pulse is just getting back to normal. I listened on the radio and probably needed an IV while watching the replay. Those were two really good ball teams with two good coaching staffs. Neumann and Mathews are two fine head guys and first class people. I really think the Vidor community and kids have bought into Mathews philosophies on how to succeed and their doormat days are over. Ned did that awhile back. I think Vidor has and will become a force in the district. I will go see them play when theirs and Neds schedules don't conflict. Congrats to Both teams. I think we'll see them both with strong playoff runs.
I was with you completely, except for that "strong playoff run" comment.  If they both go Div-1, they lose 1st round.  Summer Creek and Dayton will win those match-ups.  Crosby and BH will win the Ozen and Livingston match-up, so pretty much a LOT of sweep crow coming to 20-4A...........
Keep smoking.... ::)
 5.

Ozen meet Vidor. Vidor meet Ozen. Boom! Rivalry! Match made in heaven...
Only a bullpup would think its that simple....... Smh ::)
Lol I'm just having some fun twocents..
 6.
I saw Neumann smile for the first time ever in the postgame interview, i guess he was happy with the win.  :D
Oh he smiles a lot. Maybe not on camera or during games, but he always has a good-hearted spirit. He is sometimes like a little kid and all giddy, especially when he is excited about something.
 7. Let's face it, I understand the sentiment Mike, but let's look at it objectively. I agree, Ned on paper should've beat Vidor by at least two scores. But paper doesn't always matter. We went in to a fired up Vidor stadium against a group of talented kids, many of which played in the Ned game last year, who wanted nothing more than sweet revenge. Nederland's got the size and speed advantage over every team in district. But that doesn't always win you games. We did good to get out of there with a win last night. Our play-calling was atrocious for much of the night. It wasn't pretty but it's a W. Look at how many top ten teams have fallen so far this year and we are only in week 4! Many of these teams have fallen to unranked teams. Nederland is going to be fine. We were not the underdog last night and it showed. Vidor had nothing to lose. We did. When you're at the top of the mountain, it's harder to be satisfied.

I feel this game was a big confidence booster for AJ. He made some great passes and runs. Even if Walker comes back and takes snaps you have to deal with AJ at receiver. In the Lumberton game AJ went up and caught a pass with one hand. Looked like he palmed it. Great dual threat player.
Playing Lumberton would help anyone's confidence. ;)
You stole the words right out of my mouth. PNG should've throttled Lumberton.
 9. I honestly have no clue about Livingston or who they've played etc. this is just a shot in the dark Nederland - 31 Livingston - 14
 10. Ozen meet Vidor. Vidor meet Ozen. Boom! Rivalry! Match made in heaven...
 11. I didn't start this thread to have to explain the non-rivalry with Vidor again. Honestly, how many years has Vidor been significant? I'm not saying that to knock them, but come on. Yes, the past couple of years the Vidor game has been big for Nederland because they stood in the way of our District Crown. But, we've had a string of years where it was that way with Ozen and Central too. With MCM it's a year round deal not just in hs sports. It trickles down to youth sports, office wars, you name it. It stands the test of time and is extremely relevant even if neither team is. My point being, the Vidor game will continue to be a big game for Nederland as long as they stay relevant. But if they revert back to being the doormat of the district, then it won't matter much to Ned. I have a feeling the same cant be said for Vidor...
 12. Summer Creek!

Whats the look for who's going d1 and d2? I see the 4 playoff teams as ned vidor ozen and livingston in order. Who would go where?
Nederland  (1478.5) Vidor (1398) Ozen (1264) Livingston (1143) Vidor has the 4th biggest enrollment in the district.  If PN-G & Central miss the playoffs then Vidor goes D1.
I'm hoping we miss the D1 in fear of meeting up with SC. They would go D1 if they make it right?
Can't fear anyone in the playoffs. To be the best you have to beat the best.
 14.
I love rivalry trash talk time.
We got a few more weeks until MCM! :)
 15.
Very impressed with #70 on the Ned. Defense...tremendous speed for a big fella...very good athlete
Yeah that's Washington. Only a junior too. He was #90. Not sure why he switched numbers but yea. He's a beast.
 16. Served up just how you like it! Can I take your order please? ..... Oh... Too soon?? I'm kidding around. In all seriousness, you guys were tougher than I expected and will go far this season. I was really impressed with the speed on defense. Good luck the rest of the way..
 17. Great, hard fought battle tonight. The best team won and Nederland proved that they want to earn another crown. Vidor held in there to the end so great way to battle there. Lots of areas to clean up for the Dogs though, but a great win!
 18. Great half. Very surprised that Nederland has not stretched the field more. Pirates are stacking the box often and blitzing quite a bit. Pirates are hanging in there and have attempted several passes but Nederland secondary has done well with staying home. On a side note, one concession line? Really?
 19. LMAO at Nederland run through sign: "You May Have Our Colors But You Will Never Have Our Pride" Now that's a run through sign!
 20. Good Luck Vidor! But not too much luck! Hope everyone walks away from a clean, injury-free game!

What's sad is that Nederland kids are already going to be viewed as guilty by the general public even if they didn't do it. I would bet my life that it wasn't anyone on the team though. And BigRed, the line in my opinion would probably be -3 or -4 for Nederland. Strength of schedule being the primary reason for adding the extra couple of points. O/U estimate would probably be 38.
I'm sorry GoDogs I couldn't resist on a few posts back you posted it was probably someone from Vidor or the Coaching staff..and now you post your not accusing......I don't even know what to say to that.
If you read my post I said that I have a suspicion this was not done by Nederland. A suspicion and an accusation are different to me. Maybe I'm wrong on the definitions of each. Sorry if I mis-worded things.

 23. I have a huge suspicion that this was not Nederland's doing lol. It looks like it was probably done by someone at Vidor, be it someone in Matthews staff or otherwise. A perfect way to fire a team up even more. Based on what the sign says and the lack of vandalism, this does not point to a Nederland hit in my opinion. It serves as a reminder for what happened last year. (why would Nederland want to say that and piss the team off even more?)... Nederland doesn't care about the game last year, but Vidor, and rightfully so, hasn't forgot. I tip my cap lol. Job well done. EDIT: Sorry for the double post! stupid iPhone!

 25.
Ok. I'll add another thread dedicated to this game. I hope that after tonight we can talk about someting else on here for a while. Ned wins 38-34.
Me too! The threads have gotten too ridiculous.
