1. Undefeated 4A - Div. II State Champs  ;)
 2.
Grad i already have a score for you PAM-28 Central- 0 1st qtr 7:08 to go.
Whoa lol !  BURN!
 3. Before I had season tickets, getting MCM tickets was a nightmare.. Even now that I have season tickets, I waited in line almost three hours the other day to pick them up. (that's when season ticket holders can also buy away games, i.e. PNG) and since the PNG game is reserved seating for the most part, it takes forever because soooo many people sign a form and give it to a friend to guy buy their season ticket holders.. So you may have one person in line with 10 or 15 people's season ticket forms buying for MCM.. They have to find another way..
 4.
The Dawgs sound a little too overconfident to me. Vidor
That was said last year too...
 5. Neumann.. hands down.. When I think about what makes a great coach, it is when you are going up against a far more talented team who is bigger, faster, and stronger and having the ability to get your team ready, focused, disciplined, and playing as a group. Neumann has done this time and time again, beating many teams that should've wiped Nederland out. This combined with the consistency of such a winning tradition during his time at Nederland puts him at the top. Now, does he have a state ring? No, and I don't know if Nederland will ever be able to compete against big money schools, but I know when you get to the playoffs, anything can happen. So hopefully, one year with a lot of good coaching, teamwork, and a little luck, Neumann will get one so people will stop being so hard on Nederland.
 6.
Don't act all high and mighty go dogs and act like yall ain't bringing it up just as much as we are. And Yes yall did have players that were out but they weren't players that were 2nd in district in rushing yards. And if yall "gave" us 7 points in the game then we "gave" yall that 4th down catch.  ::) smh...
Not taking anything away from Vidor, they played us tougher than I expected. But even a fool can see that 4th down play was all about who wanted it more, and on that play, the Nederland receiver wanted it more. There were several Vidor defenders all around the football. Of course luck played a part also, but at any rate, I wish the Pirates the best of luck. It's a much more exciting district when the Pirates are relevant. And I hope they make some noise in the playoffs again..
 7.

I love how we are still a month and a half away from from the start of Friday Night Football and the Ned fans have them winning the district opener at PIRATE STADIUM by "as much as they want"  Fellas it is simple, it may be the blowout that you are predicting.  I highly doubt it, but it could happen.  Ned will be strong and no one is questioning that, but Vidor has plenty coming back from a team that went three rounds deep and was one drive away from beating Ned last year and winning the district championship.  Keep the crazy predictions coming, it will make victory so much sweeter for those Mighty Pirates!
Don't worry VHS ! Nederland fans are obviously worried about the Vidor game. If I remember correctly Nederland had to come back to barely beat Vidor last year . Vidors starting TB went out on the second play of the game and Quirante got hurt . Vidor wins this one @ home !
Vidor fans have made this point several times, but people fail to realize that Nederland had several players out that game as well. It's not like Vidor drove up and down the field either, the Nederland offense basically gave Vidor 7 points. But these are ALL part of a football game. Injuries, turnovers, it happens. Vidor gave Nederland a great game last year, but Nederland won, end of story. This is a thread about predicting who is going to win THIS year. If you think Vidor is going to win 98-0 then you have every right to predict that. and p.s. I am not really sure why Vidor hates Nederland either. We already have our rival..
 8. Vidor won't score a load of points on the Dogs' D. I agree, Nederland by as much as they want. Ned-34 Vidor-7
 9. Nederland vs. Angleton (big test early on against a highly ranked team) Nederland vs. PNG (always a classic with these two bitter rivals) Crosby vs. Nederland (had some close games with Crosby in recent years, should be another good gauge early on) In that order...
 10.

Don't want to rain on your parade too much Robadana, but Vidor has been in the playoffs 5 times in your history.
The past is the past. I reference Austin Lake Travis sir. My Pirates aren't anyone's cakewalk anymore and everyone in 20-4A knows it. We have a heck of a coach, the best fan base in the area and a bunch of kids who think they can and will win. That is all you need for victories.
The best fan base in the area? You're kidding right? PN-G wins that hands down with Nederland a close second.
 11.
It's Amazing how people are so confident that their team will win state when it's still JUNE. Why don't we let them play atleast one game first. According to people this site setx will have more state championships this year than they've had combined in like the last 10 years ::)
^what he said..
 12. The "turf" at Nederland is holding up quite well. A little rain every now and then and we are set. The way football should be played. ;)
 13. 1. Nederland (solid defense in place and a mature offense=repeat district champs) 2. Vidor (lots of returning starters and I really like what Matthews has done with the kids even though I personally don't care for him. I am putting them at second against my better judgement. One year does not equal consistency, but this program is heading in the right direction. Would like to see a more balanced offense however. 3. Central (great athletes with questionable coaching however. If Central wins early in district, watch out. If they are handed a couple of losses, it could get ugly quick.) 4. PNG (I don't buy the premise of them not being any good. Sounds like a classic case of wanting to be underestimated. PNG is always a threat and will be in the playoffs.)
 14. I registered but never heard any updates on this. Any info?
 15.

If anyone can remember that far back... the Crosby v. PNG game was an absolute thriller this year, and the Dayton Crosby game was decided literally on the last play.
I listened to the radio broadcast of that game and it sure sounded like one.
Yep listened to that game on the way back from the Nederland game. I could not believe how many touchdowns were scored in the last couple of minutes of that one. My vote goes to the Nederland/Stratford Double OT game...
 16. 2000 Nederland Bulldogs - i believe this was our best chance for a state title in a long time. Lost to Bay City 7-0 in the Astrodome in the state quarterfinals after getting stuffed at the one yard line as time expired. I still believe our receiver got the Td on the play before but we will never know. The sad part is that we dominated that game stat wise. We were on there side of the field a ton and couldnt come away with points. Bay City went on to blow out the remaining two teams to win the state title if i remember correctly.
 17. Bottom line is that both schools were at fault here. This sort of thing should never happen and for both sides to subject themselves to that sort of immaturity and embarassment is sad. Finger pointing is like condoning your sides actions. Whether LM has had a history of this type of behavior in the past is irrelevant. It was THIS YEARS LM team and THIS YEARS Ozen team that acted this way. This isnt a coaching thing or school philosophy thing. Its a parenting thing.
 18.

If that 17 year old didnt want to be restrained then he shouldnt have been fighting and being a thug punk. You people that always want to crucify cops would be the first ones screaming if your child was an innocent bystander on the field getting attacked and the cops didnt do anything. Thats just like the black guy who got tased in lumberton and died. People screamed for those cops heads. The guy shouldnt have been trying to get away. And oh yeah he was high on pcp.
You become more transparent with each of your posts.  Can't imagine who "you people" could be, but viewing your other literary works, I'm pretty sure I know who "you" mean.  It is always easy to judge a matter after the fact, and say how it should have been handled, and viewing the brawl with my own eyes, I think that the police did have to intervene when they did.  In viewing your posts with my own eyes I think that someone should intervene here too.  ;)
yeah pull the race card.. thats all white people do is try to drive racism.. there is no place for racism, and playing the race card only keeps it going.. you people is anybody who thinks the cops shouldnt have gotten involved. that probably includes just as many white folks as black folks so dont be ignorant and throw around accusations.. Its a level playing field here and anybody of any race who acts like those kids did, or says that the cops shouldnt have intervened, i disagree with. Thats my opinion and im entitled to it. Whats sad is that a lot of white people have moved forward from racism and completely despise it, myself included. But I wont be muzzled on my opinions just because the event may involve predominantly blacks and I dont want to labeled as a racist. At the end of the day, if it helps you sleep better to think of me as a racist then go ahead by all means, because it doesnt matter to me what you think. I know what I believe. But I WILL NOT stand nor condone actions like this no matter who the culprits.
 19.

Am i the only one not shocked? There are thugs on both sides. If one decides to go street, then the rest of the thugs go street..
I guess NED has only Church boys on there team.
i dont remember making any reference to the character of anyone on the Nederland team or their religious ideology. they werent involved in a brawl and ozen/la marque were. Which, by the way, is the reason the thread is about them. No comparison was made to any other school and just because they are young people doesnt mean we condone these actions...
 20.
I'm not from either school.  I just looked at the all the picks and both teams actions were bad. If there was "trash talking" from both teams then they were both at fault. And when is it "OK" to start a fight or go ahead and retaliate??? did they hurt your feelings by what they said??? did it cause serious harm to your child by words.... So according to you then it is "OK" if they do a little trash talking after the game to fight... whatever... How about teach your child to be a man and walk away... or don't trash talk back with another team and talk with your pads... Or if you get into a fight there are consequences. Quit making excuses for kids... and teach them right from wrong..
great post
 21.

Am i the only one not shocked? There are thugs on both sides. If one decides to go street, then the rest of the thugs go street..
I think that the word thug in this instance may be a bit harsh, and do question the motivation behind your post.  Wondering if this fight would have occurred between Ned and PNG, if you they would be referred to as thugs or just kids making poor decisions?
Doesnt matter who its between. You act like this and youre a thug. Wouldnt defend Nederland if they acted like this either.. What I meant is, in this case, there were thugs on both sides. Or punks, or whatever you wanna call them. Once on of them stooped low, the rest who are punks are going to respond. Thats any given situation....
 22. If that 17 year old didnt want to be restrained then he shouldnt have been fighting and being a thug punk. You people that always want to crucify cops would be the first ones screaming if your child was an innocent bystander on the field getting attacked and the cops didnt do anything.
 23. Am i the only one not shocked? There are thugs on both sides. If one decides to go street, then the rest of the thugs go street..
 24. Too many thoughts to post but great game Dogs, you played your hearts out. We needed to play perfectly to win and we didnt. Costly mistakes in big spots killed us. The two false starts are the worst. That shouldnt ever happen on any level. At any rate, Dawson will remember the Nederland Bulldogs.
