1. Keys to a Nederland win: Stay committed to the run and then when they stack the box, check off and play action over the top. Defense is doing ts thing, but Spell needs to make an adjustment for the quick two step pass to the outside. There is no reason we cant jump that for a pick 6. I know it goes without saying but the longer we control the ball, the better.
 2. Gameday! Lets do this! ...... Weeeeellllll lets do pappasitos first and then lets do it..
 3. Im confused. Isnt there another thread with this on it?
 4.

We will find out, but a great defense can only take you so far. Dawson defense is no slack either. They can cause turnovers with Jarell Crenshaw and etc. This team is based off of speed and it will be hard for nederland to keep up Dawson could either win 42-14 or 21-14
Last time Nederland faced a team w/ Dawson type athletes and speed they gave up 450+ yards and 41 points! Ozen... Yes Nederland won that game, but Dawson will make more stops than Ozen did.  I see an Eagles win Saturday!
Its noteworthy to mention that the defense was not at full strength. Had a few players out that game I believe.. Dawson will not hang 40 points on Nederland. Ill go one step further and say they wont hang 30+ points. This defense is that good..
 5. Im gonna go out on a limb and say Monte has a few tricks up his sleeve for this one. Offense hasnt always played to their potential but they get the job done when they need to. If they can click early and last 4 qtrs., its going to be tough for Pearland Dawson. The more I look at this, the more I believe the Dogs have the upper hand if they execute.
 6. Helluva man and coach. Glad to say i played under him. When we played Richmond-Foster in the playoffs, they had a big D1 prospect running back. He came up with a great scheme that week and we shut the RB down that night.
 7.

Love your dude picture. Is it from the bowling movie Bridges made? (the name of the movie eludes me)
Give you a hint. It was great.
I wanna say The Big Lebowski but i could be wrong...
 8.
Is something posted at GP stadium or website? Define Noisemaker - ______________________
They would probably stop you at the gate if you had something big in your hand, but if you can get it in then they probably wouldnt do anything. I dont plan on making anything huge, and it would hide well in my coat. Of course you never know. Depends on whos working the gate. That guy walked right in with his last week so i guess it depends. Its not against UIL rules so i think its stupid to have a policy against it.
 9. I saw a guy at the Nederland game with a noisemaker that had ball bearings in it. It looked like a post driver that was sealed off with the bearings inside. Not sure if he posts on here but if so i am goig to try and make one this week. I used to have propane tanks with ball bearings but they dont allow those anymore. If anyone has any tips please post or pm me. I am mostly looking for tips on sealing off the open end. Wont have access to a welding machine though. Thanks
 10. Nope im still here. When i made the post, there were easily 8-10 Vidor threads on the first page. Im proud of you guys, i just was tired of weeding through the Vidor threads about sailing down I-10 in the black pearl and shoutouts to the coaches and the fans etc. etc. Just thought most of that couldve been condensed into one thread. Take it to Angleton this week and we will see you next week.
 11.

La Marque vs Dawson [Hidden Content] Run up the middle seems to be their defensive weakness.  Watched some of Manvel vs Dawson game.  Manvel ran the ball all over them. Our secondary will need to physical vs their receivers. Dogs can do this!  Run them out of their cage.  Go Bulldogs!!!!
From just that 2 minute video I'm not impressed at all by either teams in my opinion. Our defense will stop that play action bootleg garbage. Not impressed at all.
You say that but James White is one of the top runinng backs in the state as a Junior and I don't know if Nederland as faced a offense like Dawson There is playmakers at every position, when Dawson gets rolling its over If nederland wins the turnover battle nederland wins, but if Dawson makes nederland play catch up Dawson wins
And i doubt Dawson has played a defense like Nederland's. This may be one of the best defenses in the state. Nederland has held almost everyone well below their avg ppg with the exception being Ozen when we has some players out.
 12. My heart wants to say Vidor, but every round gets tougher and tougher no matter who you play. I will be pulling for the pirates so next week the Dogs can sink the black pearl, but my head says Angleton takes this one 35 to 28...
 13.
HS games are won and lost with talent. If the number of fans  in the seats decided games, PNG would never lose. It's a great atmosphere for these kids and it is important to  understand the etiquette of the game. But do not fool yourselves into believing that if you lose, it was because of crowd noise or lack thereof.
You are delusional. Yes talent helps. But good coaching helps, good conditioning helps, good play calling helps, and smart fans help. Not saying fan support is the be all end all, but its a contributing factor. Ill never forget walking out for pregram when we played PNG in high school. If games were solely won on talent, then the chalk would always win. If our fans being loud on defense can cause just one false start or a busted play, it could be a deciding factor. That Friendswood game is a perfect example of a much more talented team that got beat by little old nederland. Its a lot harder to hear audibles and snap counts when the crowd is loud. Otherwise, whats the point in making any noise? I would love to be back on that field again but my job now is to help from the stands so Im going to do all i can whether it helps the outcome or not.
 14.
What if, by chance, the other team has fans in attendance?  Should you ask them to be quiet when Ned has the ball too? That  would be so helpful.
Didnt have that issue with your team or Stratford. Nederland brings the fans. Not sure what kind of following PD has, but even if they have just as many, 10,000 is louder than 5,000. Some people have no common sense. Watch an A&M game and compare the noise level when the aggies are on offense vs. defense.
 15. Its the same reason nobody wants to see LSU and Alabama in the BCS title game. From the outside, its more impressive when you have 70 points scored in a game. It took overtime for LSU and Bama to score 15 points combined, but they are the two best teams in the country. Nederland makes plays when they have to. We turned the ball over too much in the Stratford game. It shouldve never been that close. The redzone turnovers kill you. Most teams dont overcome that, but teams with good defenses can because you dont have to play catch-up. Ill take this type of Nederland team over a flashy offense any day. Think about the 4th quarter effect. A great defense will set your offense up to grind down the opponents defense. By the 4th quarter, when that defense has been on the field a lot, it benefits your offense. Goes back to the saying, "the best offense is a good defense."
 16. He's right. You dont make noise when your team is on offense. Save it for defense. This is football 101. If its too loud, and your QB is trying to audible, a receiver may not hear the call, run the wrong route, and now you have a pick six. Thats just one reason. If youve ever seen a college or pro qb get under center qnd then pull up and wave his arms like he's trying to fly, that means he needs you to shut up. What really irritates me is when the cheerleaders start a cheer or do the two bits when we are on offense. I hold my breath every time worries that we are gonna jump offsides or something. P.S. As a former player, this does make a difference. Be loud on defense, quiet on offense, at least during pre snap.
 17.
The school district should have immediatly suspended these players. I know-everyone is innocent till proven guilty. What has happened to discipline and common sense. Something this violent should be a no brainer to school administrators. I suppose that if these punks are proven guilty MAYBE the state equal to our UIL could strip their title but that will not help the teams they defeated to get there. Truly bad stuff.
It shouldnt help the teams that got defeated.. Thats not the point. Eligibility/performance enhancing is one thing, but a criminal act that doesnt improve performance on the field is another. I hate to be the devils advocate here but if there has been no trial and no conviction, then these kids are still innocent. What happened to the Duke lacrosse team was a tradgedy.
 18.
Idk. Kinda hard to find a team that doesn't pass much.
I would say the Broncos for Vidor. Broncos have a good defense and they run the ball a lot with Tebow in at QB
 19. Bubble screens rarely go anywhere but if everyone stays on their block, its probably goin to the house. I like screens a lot, it keeps the defense honest.
 20. ] according to this, Nederland is ranked 10th and PD is ranked 32? This doesnt seem right but it may not be updated correctly or something. At any rate have they flipped for home and away yet?
 21.
Can someone tell me what the score was for the BH game this weekend?  Cant seem to find it.  Thanks!
Ouch. Havent they eaten enough crow? BH fans support their team just like we all support our teams. Granted some of them are perhaps a little more relentless than others but I think theyve given respect to all the teams still left playing...
 22. Nederland and Pearland Dawson!
 23. Nobody kid yourself. The Dogs can win this one. Its not 15 against 11, its 11 against 11 smashmouth football. The best spot to be in is as huge underdogs. That said, PD will not take Nederland lightly. The offense cant make the mistakes they made today but i think 28+ points will be enough. This defense is special. If you saw the stratford game, then you saw our defensive front getting held all day and they still had good pressure and penetration. PD is going to have huge respect for this team no matter the outcome. One last point that hasnt been mentioned much; our coaches need to bring their A game too. Our situational playcalling MUST be better on offense. Lots of variables but I think 20-4A is proving that we are a lot better district than we've been given credit for. Dogs will be in this game and with good preparation, execution, and a little luck, can pull this one out. I hope to see everyone there!
 24. Very proud of this group today for overcoming the turnovers. Give credit to The Spartan defense because they had a lot to do with it. Our defense won this one.... again. I'm also proud of the Nederland fans for showing up in full force and being loud today. It makes a difference to those boys on the field. I can tell you that from experience. Lets do it again next week. The announcers on TSRN couldnt believe how many Nederland supporters showed up with it being in Houston. We need an even better showing next week. Hopefully my bark will be back by then!
 25. Stratford hasnt lost a step at QB. Backup has some wheels and a nice arm too. Need to eliminate penalties. These officials are calling us for any contact whatsoever so gotta be more careful.
