1. PNG 35 Lumberton 14
2. ::) bitterness isnt very becoming.. Never made any bones about how I feel about our fans. Ill be there until the end regardless of how many other fans are or what the score is.
3.
GoDogs27...you are really obsessed with PNG....I was at the game, updating on my iPhone....heck yeah I was excited...I'm a true Indian fan and will remain one...and, btw, I didn't leave early.  If you don't like my posts, don't read them...no one is making you.  I'll be doing the same thing in support of PNG.  PNG has a GREAT fan base/following....I think you have a problem with it.  Moving on...Nederland got the win...they were the better team with a helluva defense.  Unlike you, who, in the first quarter, was already complaining about the officiating, I was supporting my team. I support Nederland the rest of the year except MCM. If Nederland is in the playoffs, I continue to support them. Go back and read my posts over the years, I have NEVER been negative toward the Bulldogs...BUT...I will support the Indians to the bitter end...win or lose...this is why I bleed "purple".....this is why I'm a loyal PNG fan. Best of Luck to Nederland vs. Livingston next week.  Should be a great Offense vs. Defense game. HONOR.....PRIDE.....TRADITION>>>========>>>PNG
Nothing wrong with pointing out a bad call when i see one. Happens every game and both teams usually get screwed on a call here and there. Its difficult to deal with on the more obvioous ones but I guess its part of the game. No problem with PNGs fan base or following. Its by far the best following in southeast Texas. And I am definitely not obsessed with PNG. Cant stand anything about PNG. But I respect the loyal fans of any school, just dont respect the pretenders or fair weather fans. I make no bones about me not liking PNG, its just part of it. I guess I have an old school mentality with this rivalry. I think its crazy when PNG fans show up at Nederland games in support or vice versa. Thats just me though and there are a lot that dont feel that way. There are quite a few that do feel that way though. Everyone is entitled to feel how they want about it.
4.
27, why are so bitter. You constantly attack anything PNG. Do you have a life? Do you sleep at night drugfree? You dont think "big ned" has crazy football fans like PNG. Sounds like you are one of them. Are you  bitter because there arent as many crazy football fans in ned as in PNG. No pride in ned. BUMMER DUDE. Get used to it!!!
huh? bitter? what do I have to be bitter about? Do I have a life and sleep drug free? I have a better life than most people and certainly dont need drugs to enjoy life lol. You sounds like you are the one that's bitter. I am not mad, angry, upset, or anything of the like. I asked a simple question that I felt like was a genuine question to ask since it created such a buzz last night. Again, if someone chooses to leave a game early be it a png fan, nederland fan, vidor fan, lcm fan, etc., then thats their personal choice and I am sure its for good reason. I am sorry that I dont go to more of your games PNG Proud, I can only handle you guys once a year. Hence, why I asked the question. I am not familiar with the happenings at png games, only from what png fans tell me. And plaball what do you mean by 'crazy football fans'? Also, I never said there was no pride in Nederland either. I didnt realize that asking a simple question would cause an uproar amongst the png 'faithful'. Again, take the purple blinders off. The reason I asked is because I have never seen png fans scatter like that during a game, especially at home. I go to the ned/png game every year and thats the first time I have seen it. Everyone in the stands (at least in my section) were shocked too. I completely understand that this happens at almost every game including nederland games. I asked because PNG always prides themselves on not being this way but it seemed like a different story last night. This shouldnt have turned into an attack thread. Just wanted some insight from someone calm and collective. Too soon?
5. I had to be at work at 4:30 am. I was there until the end. I also had to be at work at 4:30 AM when we played GCM. I started this thread simply asking a question but it seems that nobody wants to answer. I dont particularly care when people leave games. Thats up to each individual. Yes I would love for everyone to stay until the end. But I am going to say it again so everyone that wants to make excuses can get it in their heads. This isnt meant to attack people who leave games early. This is because everytime I hear about PNG, all i hear about is how great their fans are and the loyalty they have. I have heard from many PNG fans who have always told me that PNG fans never leave games early. I guess thats not really the case then right? If so, no big deal, I was just wondering if this was typical or not. I, along with everyone in my section, was shocked when over half of the stands emptied early. So dont get your underpants twisted, I was just curious if this has been going on for a while... Cliffs Notes: Dont care when an individual leaves games. I was simply inquiring if what I have heard all these years was really true about PNG fans staying until the end. No need for people to get offensive. And to whoever said to move on to our next opponent. I will leave that to the coaches and players but I still have 364 more days to enjoy this one  8)
6.
Dog fans are no different, 2 min left in the game against Vidor and half the fans were in the aisle heading for the gate. I'm sure when they got home and found out the Dogs won they couldn't believe it!
READ PEOPLE.. READ.. I think we have some of the worst fans in all of high school football. Half of the stands are band parents who cheer more at halftime than the rest of the game. But my point is, we don't act or pretend like we have such a loyal fan base..
7. Nederland/Barbers Hill Vidor has a good pass defense but I wasn't impressed at all with their run defense in the nederland game..
8. I would also add that maybe since the center/qb snap is shotgun 95% of the time, he didn't wanna risk a fumbled snap or something. But I agree with what others have said.. Get all up in your centers rear end and push forward..
9.

They did the same thing as other teams (including Nederland) do.
Yet they always boast that they're the biggest and best fan base in the area and noone has a fan base like PNG and all this other stuff you always hear.
Thank you mytwocents for being the only person that sees my point. Its not the act of leaving early that I'm criticizing. Its being fake by acting so loyal, faithful, and full of pride when in actuality its no different. All I wanted to know was that if this was a trend for png fans. Or maybe the loyalty only counts for games you win?
10. Ill be the first to tell you that I'm real disappointed in Nederland fans. You can hear a pin drop in those stands most of the time. I can't hardly talk today because of how much I was yelling and trying to encourage our other 'fans' to get on their feet and make some noise. I was just curious because I've never seen anything like that from PNG fans. Its kind of offensive when I hear PNG fans talk all the time about how loyal and prideful they are and they stay until the end. PNG still had a chance to score. I look over at the stands and parking lot and I see purple scattering everywhere..
11. Just wondering if someone from across the tracks could shed some light on what I saw last night. At least half of the stands emptied after PNG got stopped on 4th down. I have never seen PNG fans scurry out of a stadium like that. There were still about two minutes left and all I ever hear about is png pride and how they never leave a game early no matter what. Have fans been doing this all season?
12.
Some of the penalties called last night looked like bad calls on the tv replay.  The holding call on Nederland's rushing touchdown against the receiver was very questionable.  If he was holding it was inside the shoulder pads.  Defensive pass interference in the endzone was legitimate but the very next play that PNG scored there should have been offensive pass interference called because the receiver clearly pushed off.  Overall a very good game but too many penalties for each team.
And some people thought I was crazy for calling out the terrible officiating. I also love how PNG scored on an obvious pick. It was out in the open. I bet those officials don't even know what a pick is. Where do they get these clowns?!
13. Dogs take it at home. Nederland - 20 Livingston - 17
14. I think Faircloth is a fine coach and is well suited for PNG. I wouldn't trade Neumann for him any day of the week. Faircloths flaw is he let's his emotions dictate game decisions. As a coach, you can't do that. Of course this is just my opinion of faircloth so I don't really care if you agree or not. I'm not stating a fact, just an opinion. PNG better refocus though or they'll be off to a quick 0-3 start and being handed their hats. Must win situation for PNG next game..
15. I agree. Faircloth didn't lose this game. PNG didn't lose this game. Nederland stepped up and made the plays they needed to make to win. Both teams battled hard but the dogs won the battle in the trenches all night. Whoever the linebacker for PNG is that kicked the Nederland player on the ground should be kicked off the team.  There's no place for stuff like that in football. Whoever it is, you should lay down and let me kick you as hard as I can with cleats on and see how you like it.
16. Trust me, it was not a guaranteed 3 points. PNGs kicker kicked an extra point that cleared the cross bar by about 6 inches and the ball was never tipped or anything. Plus I think faircloth had a chip on his shoulder...
17. This Nederland defense is for real. Without them, Nederland didn't stand a chance when their offense was struggling. Finally Barrow stayed true to the run game and it paid off. That 4th and 1 stop by Nederland was the difference maker tonight. Hat on hat and beat your guy. Nederland did that and proved why they are the toughest defense in 20-4A. Addition: Could not believe half of the PNG stands emptied with a couple minutes left. It was raining purple...
18. Our offense looks terrible. Raines still has some learning to do about situational football.. Receivers are dropping balls left and right. Very disappointed in our receiving corps.
19.

Nederland getting shafted bad on the calls.. Never seen anything like it..
I haven't really seen that.  Dogs punt. Png ball on their 25
Then you're blind.. PNG offensive line is holding and tackling our defensive front every play. Not to mention one of pngs players hauled off and kicked one of our players after a play and nobody saw it. Neumann just gave the purple and white zebras an earful on the way to the locker room.
20. Nederland getting shafted bad on the calls.. Never seen anything like it..
21.

The Dogs will come out the way they finished the Vidor game, ON FIRE......I don't look for PNG O to be on the field much, cause Nederland D is going to SHUT them DOWNNN....Game management is the key and Nederland will set the tone for this game.....Bulldogs win this 21-7.....
Well you must not have followed PNG much in the Faircloth era our lowest scoing game since he has been Head coach here is 20 points. No one in our district will keep PNG Offense to 7 pts. Now i will say this also we arent gonna keep anybody to 7 pts either this game will come down to who ever has the ball last will win. I look for a 41 to 38 type game.
No matter the outcome this will in no way, shape, or form be an 80 point shootout. By the sound of some predictions. PNG is going to be very surprised by this Nederland D.
22. Had a little last minute fun in the wee hours of the morning. I have a good friend who is a big png freak so I decided to go tattoo her suv this morning with streamers and window paint depicting her as a BIG NED fan lol.. This is the kind of fun I miss from this game that there should be more of...
23. Ill keep it simple: The team that wins the time of possession will win this game. I do believe this game will come down to the last drive. It wouldn't be MCM if it didn't, right?
24.
This year, on the MCM thread, it seems the personal attacks by BOTH PNG fans and Nederland fans has been a little too much.  I agree with GoDogs27, both Nederland and PNG teams have not reached the "elite" status because they DO have to prove something.  It's ok to jab here and there, but the personal attacks are lame.  PNG repsects Nederland and Nederland respects PNG when it comes right down to it.  These young men go out there in MCM and play their hearts out......we, the fans, are there to support them to the utmost of our ability, whether an Indian or a Bulldog. I will say this....as far as I'm concerned, MCM, however, IS the ELITE high school rivalry in Texas...its the best!  That, I will defend to the bitter end. Prayers for all the fans, players, bands, cheerleaders, drill teams, and everyone else involved that makes MidCounty Madness the success that it is.  See you at the game!
^^Best post on this thread.. I agree MCM is the the elite rivalry in all of Texas. I hope both teams come out of this healthy and nothing cheap goes on.
25. I wouldn't even say the ndns are the yankees of southeast texas, but ill let you have your fun. PNG is a school that has a rich tradition, some would say to the point of brainwashing. But its nowhere near the upper echelon of teams that you would consider elite. Ok so you won a few state titles years ago. The Denver Broncos did too but people don't consider them an elite team in the NFL.. Outside of PNG, people really don't consider you guys anything special. You may be hated a little bit by some but I promise its not the same kind of hatred people have with NY or LA... A lot of it has to do with the way you treat other schools and how you perceive yourselves. You got faircloth and started walking around like you've won 3 state titles in a row. Prove something and maybe people will respect you more but you haven't proven anything. I say the same for Nederland. I don't expect other people to worship Nederland for anything. This isn't the 1950s or early 2000s anymore and until we prove that we are an elite team year after year, then I don't expect people to consider us in that category.. Delusion is a nasty disease..
