I hope it works well for us this season... We tried this same sort of deal with Hood at the helm in 04, but it didnt work out too well and we dropped it before district started.... But thats what predistrict is for... We will see... I think Neumann and Barrow know what they are doing... This style of offense is typical of really successful teams such as Southlake Carrol...

You do provide some valid points to defer my claim, but if you take a look at his career as a whole, you will see what I am talking about. Last year Coach Spell relinqueshed his duties as the Defensive Backs coach, which could have led to the problem with defending the pass... Look for a much better defensive approach this year. Neumann is and was aware of the defensive struggles last year....

Usually only happens with stuff like 9/11, but I can remember exactly where I was in the dome when Ramoin got into the endzone! My jaw dropped and I am pretty sure I cried a tear of anger when they ruled him down......oh yeah and I dropped my ice cream cause I couldnt believe what had happened....

I couldnt agree with you more... I really wish we could get a predistrict game with WO-S again... Too good of a rivalry to go to waste... As a Nederland fan, the two teams that are feared are WO-S and PN-G because both of those games are stats-out-of-the-window games... especially MCM

Yes. As far as I know Nederland and Waller will play at Bulldog Stadium this time around... The only different game will be the season opener. This year, Nederland plays Brenham and PN-G plays La Marque at Reliant....

As do most Nederland fans... I think the harsh reality of it all was that the winner of that game was basically going to be the state champions.. Bay City blew out it next two opponents and won state...

Too many to think about... Being as young as I am, I will give you a couple of my Nederland games... 2000 - Nederland 10 @ WO-S 21 "That gave WO-S a 14-10 lead but Nederland came back with a drive from its 48 to the (WO-S) 17. That set up the play that will be the source of many conversations in Mid-County for awhile." - PA News (I think we all know what play this is.) Laterals anyone??? 2000 - Nederland 21 vs. PN-G 19 PN-G missed a field goal with 12 seconds to play that was wide right... 2000 - Nederland 0 vs. Bay City 7 - I still cringe when I think about this game. -Replays made it look as if the ball crossed the plane of the goal line but a side judge on Howard Seitzman's crew emphatically ruled that Ramoin's knee landed short of the goal line by inches. -Draw your own conclusions but this was a very iffy call on which a season had to end. Especially since the Bulldogs dominated the stats. You didn't think it would be any other way, did you? Nederland won all the numbers games, except the score; 12-6 in first downs, 170-75 rushing yards, 62-28 passing yards, and 28:11-19:49 possession time. -Barbay felt the Bulldogs were robbed -- a sentiment shared by many teammates in an emotional locker room. "I justed wanted him (Ramoin) to catch the ball," said Barbay (7 of 15 for 62 yards). "He caught it and he got in. 2001-Nederland 35 vs. WO-S 0 (Not really a great game, but I had to add it) 'Nuff Said Obviously these games are only Nederland games, but at any rate, they are very memorable....

WO-S or Nederland... WO-S because of their obvious talent and speed.... Nederland because of coaching and playoff history...

Lots of good choices up there...

1. Dayton - Talent level at skill positions is pretty high... I look for them to contend well... And I was amazed at how fast their defense was last year, not sure how many defensive starters are returning, but they have some speed over there 2. Central - Speed... Speed... Speed... The Jags are extremely quick and have proven themselves to be a powerhouse in this district... In conjunction with their speed, they typically run a La Marque 'esque' offense... At least that was my evaluation... Their schemes are great with their level of talent 3. Nederland - I dont care if you have Vince Young, Reggie Bush, or any other superstar on your team, if you play against a team with a great coaching staff, you are very susceptible to being beat.. Nederland HANDS DOWN has the best coaches in Southeast Texas.. Coach Spell is a defensive mastermind that can send shockwaves through an opposing OC... And I dont think Coach Neumann needs an introduction... 10 straight playoff appearances and counting.. All of this being done without an immense chunk of talent... Nederland always, always finds ways to win, even in the toughest games....

It'll be a battle of the Big 4... Nederland, Dayton, Central, and PN-G

not too good... although my san antonio bracket is just one game off... the VA/Tenn game....

Too soon to judge who will win district, but I predict last year's big three will make it to the dance again. Nederland, Dayton, Central... All great programs with classy fans and players!

My Senior Year ('03-'04) we played Richmond Foster in the second round of the playoffs as huge under'dogs' (Nederland always seems to do well in that role.) Richmond Foster's running back Javarris Williams was averaging well over 200 yards a game, however we held him to just 83 yards and pitched a 28-0 shutout until the 1:07 of the game. The game ended 28-14, but doesnt nearly do justice to the damage our defense did that night. I still have the tape from that game and watch it every now and then... Out of all of that though, I think the single most memorable thing about that game was the amount of fans that were there. Hundreds of fans were already there when our buses arrived to greet us with an assembly line wishing us luck. Nederland obviously has a big following, but our fans (and some PNG supporters) filled the entire home side at Galena Park's stadium, which by all accounts is a huge facility... Can I go back and do it one more time???

Besides the obvious MCM game... I think a current rivalry brewing is Nederland/Dayton... Nederland got the better of Dayton in the playoffs a couple of times a few years ago, but Dayton has a great program now and took out Nederland last year and they are obviously tough contenders in 22-4A... I look forward to that game every time we play them...

embarassing??? I was the farthest thing from embarassed after a double OT game... It was a great game and Texas came out on top... You sips have a lot to look forward to in Durant... Oh wait nvm, he'll probably draft.....

Am I the only person who saw this coming a few years ago when they announced a Hockey team in southeast texas... an oxymoron of epic proportions... come on now... this is football land....
