2.
A more amusing thing in this thread may be guessing who the "12" so far who voted for PNG to win..... Let me guess a couple, PNG bamakid, PNG Proud, dogbite???? ummm,  Go Dogs27 are you with us????
Why would you even question my vote?! Of course I voted for Nederland!
 3.

I doubt this game will be a blowout. It will probably be like most of the other ones. Nederland's problem right now offensively is not their personnel. Its the play-calling. It's been atrocious the last couple of games. Maybe Neumann and Barrow don't want to show their hand this early knowing they are basically a play-off lock and they are ok with just winning games without scoring 50+ points. I dont know, but run right, run middle and run left get a little old. Especially when LC-M has 8 guys in the box. We do not stretch the field enough early on to open up the run game. This almost bit Nederland tonight. They let a lesser talented team stick around and stick around until the 4th. Even then, it was the defense that put it away. If Barrow opens up the playbook a little and stretches the field early, it may be a long night for the injuns. If not, look for a slugfest until Nederland puts it away, again in the 4th. Nederland - 31 PNG - 24
Ladies and Gentlemen, now playing the role of armchair coach and negative-Nederland-naysayer, it's GoDogs27! He replaces Smitty after a solid 3-4 year run of regularly calling for the defensive coordinator's job. Please give a round of applause for GD27 and wish him well in his new role.
Whatever dude. I am not calling for any coach's head. I am pointing out something I see as a  potential problem. It doesnt matter what I think, but this is a forum where we can come and give our view points (within the rules). So that's what I did. I'm not a lone ranger here. Many see this problem with play-calling the past few weeks. We've escaped getting bit by it two weeks in a row. I just dont think we should put ourselves in that position..

I wanted to be at this game but I knew we would have a tough game with Ozen, which we did. I know Ned is good and they are still 20-4A champions until unseated which I dought this year it will happen. But that LCM team is no slough at all, is it?
they are pretty good...but I think for some reason Monte is being a little conservative on the play calling..but I am sure their is a reason for it..No need to start second guessing these coaches because the dogs are still getting the job done ;)
I'll gladly second guess ... Whatever that "reason" is, is exactly why we fall short year after year and we will probably never win a state championship. It's a shame because this team has the talent and skill.
I disagree. Monte usually has some good, creative stuff come playoff time. I do hope there is a reason for being so conservative. It's glaringly obvious by everyone how bland our current scheme is. Nederland, as a whole, has the best coaching staff in the area. Just from past experience, I am sure Barrow wants to open it up more. And maybe it is the O-line issue. But come playoff time, we are going to need to do more than hand off to Hopkins and bubble screens out to the flat or we will be one and done..
 5. Give me the Dogs against their archrivals.. Poor little injun boys...
 6.
Totally disagree on the bubble screens, these are the highest percentage opportunities to get the ball into Shaw's hands in space,we just have to block better.  He is electric, one of the most electric players in the area.  That TD run on the reveerse was sick.  Just my opinion.  Plus, the bubble screens are always setting up something over the top.
Ummmmm.... Riiiiighhht... If the defense is in man, that play is going nowhere. Even in zone, it takes so long to develop that youre going to have defenders all over it almost everytime. I support your right to an opinion, but how many times have you seen this play actually work, compared to how many times it's failed.. We just can't execute it well enough. Maybe we should try an inside bubble screen?
 7.
Its the little things that I think are holding us back from having a real dominant game.  Penalties, especially at the when the end up killing and offensive drive,  the allowing 1 long run every game like we just have to get it out of our system or something.  The dropping of passes (or ints)  that should be caught when they hit the person in the hands.  I think this is the stuff that needs to be fixed before the playoffs.  Oh, also ( Stop throwing the bubble screens!!)
Yep!! One defender is going to usually be free.. It's such an easy play to sniff out too and it takes forever to develop. I'd like more regular HB screens..
 8.
Who's Trahan?  Did you mean Taylor?  If so agree, he needs.touches.
I dont know why I keep wanting to call him Trahan lol. Yes.. Zack Taylor.. (I keep thinking of Taylor Trahan for some reason)..
 9.
If we don't throw it to the other team, don't hold when you're not at the point of attack, and catch the ball when it hits us in the hands behind the defense.. This game isn't close, that's called execution, not play calling?  I'm sure the playbook will get opened up more too, but we need to execute better.  We are playing SLOPpY football and its getting late enough where we need to clean it up.
Agreed that there have been some areas we need to clean up execution wise. But I feel that, at least offensively, our play-calling isn't utilizing all of our weapons. We are handing it to Hopkins way too often early on, imo. I think we should stretch the field more early and try to open up some running lanes. I understand the point about wearing down the defense, and I dont have a problem with running the ball, but I feel we should use Kimler and Taylor some more offensively. Those guys are athletic too. Basically my point is that I feel like adjusting play-calling will give our guys a better chance at executing more efficiently. I'm no coach, they are the experts. This is just a opinion from a fan who has no affiliation to any player or coach.
 10. Pryor and Couron played excellent games tonight. Those guys are incredible. Was very disappointed again with the play-calling offensively. Very very dry and predictable. Maybe Barrow is saving the juicy stuff, because those kinds of plays tonight will get you beat really quick in 4A Div I playoffs. I will say this though, Nederland's defense will keep them in every game. Angleton is a perfect example along with tonight. Need to get the ball in Shaw, Taylor, and Kimler's hands more often. Save some gas in Hopkins's tank for the 4th quarter instead of burning him out too soon. We have a ton of playmakers out there, just need to use them. STRETCH THE FIELD EARLY... And p.s. the bubble screens work 1 out of every 5 times! call some more screens up the field instead of sidelines.. it takes WAYYYY too long to develop.. Edited name
 11. Gotta go with the Pirates in this one. Vidor will give Central a clinic on how time of possession will win you football games. Vidor - 35 Central - 27

 19. Arghhhh gimme ye Vidorville Pee-Rats...
 20. I would be careful Ned fans... Don't get sucked into the talk of Ned hanging 50 on PNG and it being over by the 2nd quarter. Everyone knows this is a special game. Throw the records out of the window. This will be a slugfest. how many mcm's can you remember being blowouts?
 21. Not a major mistake and probably not worth editing, but I thought it was worth pointing out that Nederland never trailed Livingston.. "The Bulldogs trailed Livingston last Friday, then the offense came to life. The Bulldogs survive the let down game after their big victory over Vidor. Question is, can the Bulldogs go through 20-4A undefeated? A very tough task."

And futhurmore what does any of this have to do with PNG's Football Season? My mental status does not revolve around the play of 16 and 17 year olds on a Friday night...Unlike many.
Then don't say I was bashing the kid. I gave him kudos and said congratulations.. My little jab at the Big 12 was just a little joke. I hope you don't always live your life wound up tighter than an 8-day clock.. Take the stick out and live a little. Just having a little fun and telling the kid congrats at the same time.. Nothing wrong with that. I hope he does well at t.u. Academically and athletically.. Sheesh..
 23. My bad.. I thought you were saying the Friday Night Experience was broadcasting the Mont/Bren game..
