1. This game should be fun, and it gives the athletes another shot at making an impression on some college coaches. I hope athletes at the schools with coaching turnovers still get nominated to play.
 2.
OMG what shock a new Coach wants to bring in his own people!!!!! First off I don't believe one thing that Trucked has spewed and will wait to rely on folks that didn't have (As one poster put it )a man crush on Price to provide information. It may have happened and I may not have, but to start your first post with the beginning of "Well you bunch of BH whiners" and then CRY three paragraphs is hilarious; D I have never seen such a bunch of sore losers in my life! Those that are supposed to be here for BH only care that there buddy is no longer in power! BH needed a change sorry you could not see this, but if this thing would have went to the polls for a vote we would have ended up with the same result! This is not the boards fault or the Supers fault, Price has to have some fault in his departure whether you choose to believe it or not. Coach Gage has nothing to fear at BH and will get the same support that Price enjoyed for most of his career at BH, but if 10 years from now BH hasn’t made it past a second round appearance then Gage will fall into the same barrel. Is it Fair? Heck no! Is this what a Coach should expect? If not you should find job at a plant where you can work for 30 years regardless of  what you do because you are a Good Ole Boy. Can someone pass me a tissue please  :'(
What you choose to believe matters not to me. It will come out. All I'm saying is let Gage come in fresh and let HIM make the decisions on who to keep. And as far as a man crush, read back through this thread and see how many times the haters brought up the ex AD's name. That's whats funny, it's as if you guys  have just realized you won't be able to bash the AD in charge anymore but you just can't help yourself. I hope coach Gage is extremely sucessful because he is at BH, unfortunately there is just a lot of baggage that goes with a BH job these days. Now where is that red pen?
 3.
Looking deep inside the 2010 Broncos I see some lack of seniors & juniors from the 2009 roster although the returning players got alot of experience going 4 games deep in the playoffs.Last year we had 19 seniors w/many 3 & 4 yr.starters-14 juniors-7 soph.-1 freshman kicker so without any new or move in's-or transfers this team will have only 14 seniors-7 jrs.-1 soph plus whatever class players move up from JV and freshman teams. In comparison to teams like FWood.-Angleton-PNG's out there that field 25-30 seniors nearly every year. But Dayton finds ways to continue winning every year w/young talent. To win the district outright on paper would be a tall order but the coaching staff seems to bring out the best in these kids year after year.I like the Broncos chances but how healthy will they be after the rugged pre-dist.schedule ahead of them.Always believe.
I feel for you but I just can't reach ya!  :) You guys always find a way to get it done. Stinkin' purple. >:(
 4.
Ok trucked what happened to the BB coaches house.
By the time Coach made it home from the game (a very close and painful loss), someone had posted a for sale sign in his yard. Just after the last game at home, one of the fine upstanding citizens (parent) poked Coach in the chest and told him: "I hope you enjoyed this game because it will be the last game you coach at this gym." How do we help the new coach? Get rid of the people he thinks are asset to the program. Brilliant. Coach Parsons is an asset to this school. And coach Byrd will be a big loss to the football and baseball program if he is pushed out. This kind of thing has got to stop. If this is the New BH some of you speak of then have at it. I want no part of this. I tried to be positive and let the mindless banter go on, to just visit this site to find out info about the type of OFF / DEF we might be running, but the very people who wanted coach Price gone aren't satified with him being gone, they want everybody gone and look for any excuse bash him and his staff. Truly disgusting. Just give coach Gage your support and let the past go.
 5. Well you bunch of BH whiners, it looks like you got your wish... the ax is starting to fall on the coaches you guys just love to hate. Some are leaving on their own (handwriting on the wall) while others who are doing a fine job are being fired. I would like to thank all of the coaches for their service, whether they leave on their own or by force. There are a lot of people who appreciate the profession and know the time and effort that go into it. Thank you Coaches Price, Byrd, Nunez, Parsons, Riley for the time you gentlemen have spent coaching and mentoring our youth. (Forgive me if I leave anyone out). I know others are being reassigned so not all will be leaving much to the disappointment of the brilliant minds that seem to frequent the BH threads on SETXSPORTS these days. And I feel for the girls and boys BB coaches, because the ruling elite in BH will not tolerate losing while their children are on the team. That just will not do! Make no mistake, this has nothing to do with Coach Gage, this comes from "The Furor" and his seven member SS panel. I could go on and on about why this is wrong, take for instance the treatment of the girls BB coach during the season and the recent disrespect for his family and home after the recent playoff loss. Disgusting. Maybe you people of the "NEW BH" as one of you recently posted can explain why coach Parsons is being ask to leave without explanation. I have heard nothing but praise for the results he has gotten out of the kids he has worked with.. girls and boys. Like I said I could go on, but what would be the point. Coach Gage, you will have my full support, because you are coaching the children of BH. Just be careful, you are coaching and overseeing some all-americans here, if you don't believe me .. just ask their parents. Stick to your guns and run it like YOU want to. Well... back to grading those papers!
 6. Good luck tonight Eagles!
told them about him. they had no clue who he was then i told them they watched his film and now want him. that is how i hooked him up haas
Hey buckin bronco, how many of your former Bronco team mates participate in the powerlifting program/meets you spoke of in an earlier post? I am just curious to see how many of Dayton's athletes are involved in powerlifting? Any of you Dayton fans/players, feel free to respond.
every lineman and linebacker has to do powerlifting umm not to sure about the skill positions though.
Well it looks like it pays dividends for your team with the success you guys are having.

 9. Can you option oriented coaches enlighten the rest of us (maybe just me) on this type of offense? Exactly how much passing is done out of this offense? I know Army, Navy and Georgia Tech run this type of offense and run them extremely well but I always thought you had to have lightning quick backs and receivers to run it like a well oiled machine. Please share your thoughts on how BH might fare with this offense. I really don't know what to expect this coming year. I'm trying to get revved up.
 10. BH non district: Santa Fe ; Lumberton; and Nederland.
 11. Coach Gage, I'm looking forward to this year. Hopefully you can continue to move the program forward. I wish you great success this year and into the future. Welcome aboard.
 12. GCPATS you are just a wealth of good information! Thanks. :)
 13.
I've supported Don Price through the years and did not want to see him go...but that was yesterday...today we have a new coach and from what I've heard will do an excellent job, so cudos to the board. I'm not sure he will be able to run the wishbone here, but if he is as good as he is supposed to be I'm sure he'll make the proper adjustments. Don is gone...he's not coming back...so lets put it behind us and give our new coach 100% of our support!!! I'm perdicting a district championship next year...Go Eagles!!!
Great post BH34. I agree it's time to move on and look forward now that the new staff is being put into place. Let's get behind our Eagles and the new staff.
 14. UGot Trucked....What... it's not your conference time for you to chime in or are you grading those English papers?  You haven't spoken in a while.  But, you've always had the INSIDE track, right?  On everything!  Your better half helps you out with that.  She didn't get shuffled too far away from the board room tapings.  I wouldn't go spewing opinions around and then posting information that gives your identity away.  Dr. Poole will be over to visit you next week too! You can always hide under identities here, but with my first posting and my first view of this site, you are caught red handed. Well thank you Sherlock! I appreciate you sharing your brilliant deductions with the board. Or was DR. Watson the one known for his deductive prowess? No Matter. I do not have anything posted on here to be ashamed of or that I would take back. I was there in '05 at the first attempt, and I'm just savvy enough to know what went down this time. As far as grading papers, if as you've posted have read through my posts, you would know that I would have no business grading papers. The reason for not posting lately... well it was fun while the season lasted and as you pointed out I have voiced my opinion about coach Price leaving. But as of yet no one has posted anything that would make me change my mind. Hopefully BH can move on and get behind the New guy ... well until THEY decide that he doesn't kiss butt and want a another new one. :-)
 15. So, are you saying that as long as BH is 10-0, you have no problem if the student-athlete's are not taking care of business in the classroom? Trust me. I do not need the AD/HC to motivate my son (who just happens to be on the Academic All-district team) to get his education. It is, however, vital that the AD/HC is "in my corner" when it comes to expectations about grades, etc... It's nice to see someone from outside of the program WITHOUT ANY BIAS who realizes what is really going on.
 16. 19-4A BH only: OFF MVP:        Matt Viverette / QB OFF 1st Team: Carter Smith / WR                     Chris Fechner / OL DEF 1st Team: Ryan Reuter / ILB                     Chris Frazier / DL DEF 2nd Team: Logan McSwain / OLB                     Ethan Jeffcoat / DB
 17.
Heard Merka's Dad from Crosby was in the running..BH trying to get the jump on him, before he transfers to Dayton.....HA HA....
Can he play BB? If not the board.. I mean BH will not want him. ;D Just kidding.
 18. I heard it was out, that's why I logged in... to get the results. I was sure someone on this board was all over it. :)
 19. Good grief! The spin never stops.
 20.

You can coach and inspire until the cows come home. At the end of the day, D1 coaches and recruiters (along with a little thing called genetics) will still be the only factors that determine if you have D1 talent. D1 recruits do not define wether you have a successful program or not. Coach Price ran a good, clean program that was respected in and around the Houston area. Based on that, he was successful.
I do believe this is the most sensible post in the entire thread and I am not being a smarty pants either  ::) I wish Coach Price all the best.
Absolutely!
 21.
Same sentiments for Coach Byrd.....your a great coach, but an even better person and role model. I wish the same for all the coaches at BH.  There are some very good men that work with our kids.  Hope they don't get lost in the process.
Ditto! Thanks to all the coaches.
 22.
Never underestimate the wisdom  and the energy of an old coach. The blitz is still a good defensive strategy and I have been called "BLITZ" Byrd. What a great run we all had at Barbers Hill. We all had a great time day in and day out. You guys that have never coached high school kids - you are truely missing a blessing. The kids at Barbers Hill are great kids, hard workers, and they will get after you. Thanks to all you Barbers Hill guys, Coach Byrd
Coach Byrd, if that is who you really are: It has been a pleasure watching you coach and having you help mold young athletes into fine young men. You have made BHISD a better place. Thank you for all the years you gave your heart, soul, time and energy to this school district. Best of luck to you and your family whatever happens.
 23. Great season Coogs! You guys represented 19-4A well. Build on this for next year.
 24. GCM Pats, thanks for posting the article. Thanks to the Baytown Sun for reporting the facts. Thanks again Coach Price, good luck to you and your program no matter where you end up. BH athletes, get behind your new AD and football coach whoever they are and look forward towards the future.
 25. Way to go Broncos! 19-4A getting deeper in the playoffs. Now it's your turn Crosby. Let's keep it rolling.
