2. The Baytown Sun does that for the Baytown and surrounding area schools. It is nice to read about the kids after they have moved on to colledge and compete at the next level.
 3.
My Jags are not finished.  We don't know what the word 'done' means...
It's simple really, you look up on the scoreboard after the game during the playoffs and if your # is smaller than theirs.. then your done!  ;D Now before you jump on me, I was just kidding you a little. Good luck next week!
 4.
To clear yet another rumor starting BH-89 is not a board member ::)  I think allot of you are letting your personal relationships get in the way of common sense. I will agree that BH just got rid of a great person, but it was and is time for a change. The BH football program has become stagnate and needs some fresh air in order to breathe and believe again. Some seem so shocked that this happened. Do you keep up with sports much? 10 years as a head football coach is a life time and whether it was the right thing to do or not someone took a chance to see if they can make BH better! No one knows if it was the right or wrong thing to do at this point, but we all have our opinions. This is not a game that we are talking about here it is BH! Some are willing to hang out and watch 5 more losing seasons and blame it on the level of athletes that we have at the Hill. It’s common sense that when something seems broke you fix the constant in the equation. I think Price did everything in his power to adjust, move folks around, try more aggressive play calling. Price did want BH to win, but when you start to lose the respect from the community, then the kids you are fighting a losing battle. Coach Price was a victim of circumstance, but on the other hand he benefited from coaching a BH as well. I’m curious what will happen at the next school he coaches at (I assume he will). Personally I think any program will benefit from his hire and will become more successful.
No one said he WAS a board member, the post read something like "for all we know he could be". It's not hard to assume he's known about this for a while, just go back and read some of his posts during the season. The real touch of class was the morning after the PNG loss, he started the thread of "who will be the next Ad / coach at BH. Probably not word for word but you get the jest. We do need to move on, just quit trying to spin what really went on. There are a lot of people still upset about it. You guys are happy you got what you wanted. But remember "you got what you wanted".
 5. BH89-2 you can spin all you want, I was there and I know what went down. And it was the outporing of support for Don that totally wrecked the plans of your precious board, for which all we know "you" are a part of. The deeds been done, no changing it now. Just don't try to spin the events to make yourself feel better. I want things to turn out great for BH just like everyone does. But I will not act like I'm happy with what happened when I'm not. The people on your side of the fence are happy, fine! Just don't expect everyone one to be happy with the way it was handled. You have been in here for the past couple of months spewing your dislike for coach Price, calling him names and just waiting for the day to come. Well it's easy to see that apparently someone tipped you off that it was going down because you've been crowing about it for weeks. Well now you can have your "county wide" B-B-Q that you boasted about a few weeks ago, you got what you wanted.  ENJOY!
 6.
I think Barbers Hill should look for the following in their new head coach/athletic director: 1)   A proven winner as a football coach at least 80% lifetime winning percentage as a head coach 2)  Someone who has shown they can win over time not just one or two years (at least 100 wins as a head coach) 3)  Someone who has consistently taken his football teams to the playoffs (75% of the time) 4)  Someone who has made the playoffs at the 4A level with a small enrollment (50% in the playoffs and a district championship once in 4 years would be great) 5)  Someone who has been an athletic director and had success in all other sports also (multiple district championships in cross-country, volleyball, basketball, baseball, track, tennis, and golf) 6)  A good Christian man with high morals and values 7)  Someone who can direct the district in building projects as needed 8)  Someone who can oversee various events such as district track and cross-country meets, golf tournaments, playoff games, etc. with a high level of professionalism and knowledge to ensure they are handled properly 9)  Someone well respected by area coaches and athletic directors Does anyone think Barbers Hill will be able to find this person?  You just allowed a small group of parents and spineless administrators run him off.  Morons! [/quot Unless this "Super" hits one out of the park with his next couple of moves, we could be in for a long, long dry spell in BH athletics. To be honest though, I haven't seen one thing that he's done that would make me think he's gonna go yard in his next at bat. Batter up!

 8. Great job broncos, now close the deal!
 9. Congrats Brenham! Good luck next week.   Great job of never giving up PNG! You guys have something great to build on for next year. I just hope BH can get up from the sucker punch that was dealt from within and start all over again. Wish us luck!
 10.
I haven't been on in a while but have been reading the boards. Very entertaining. I was wondering how I was going reply to this post. First of all to answer the thread - I pray that Barbers Hill hires the best candiate available, not somebody that is already in the mind of the powers to be. With that being said - I'm a Barbers Hill Boy born and bread - I truly believe a mistake was made. When I see every board member I will tell them respectfully. We all know the success the athletic program has had since Coach Price took over in 1998. Not ever in the history of the school has athletics as a whole had so much success. This is not all of Coach Price's credit - this is the credit of the coaches he was able to bring in and work with our great kids. They are the main credit (kids) they have allowed us to coach them. Our kids are not the most athletic - but for the most part we have hard working kids that love to work and be pushed (credit goes to parents). Don't get me wrong there are crazy parents out there that believe there kids are all-americans and it's the coaches fault that they don't get athletic scholarships. You have that every where. I pray Barbers Hill the best on the hiring process. Just to let ya'll know - I met with Coach today for over an hour. It was a great talk - I'll let ya'll know this much - he still has the desire and fire to coach. Kinda wanted to suit up or get my whistle out. Coach Yzquierdo
Great post coach!
 11.
He's being forced out by our sorry low life school board!  I think our school board needs to go!   They are making up stupid excuses and pretty much told him to resign or get fired.  Our school board is like Jerry Jones, they want a puppet on the sideline pretending to be coaching while they (school board) coach from the stands.  >:(
Not all of the them are that way, just enough of them to pull it off. We will need a football coach /ad who will ensure all programs are treated fairly and will be able to back it up with results.... oh wait the last one accomplished that and look what it got him... railroaded out of town. Thanks a lot BHISD!
 12.
If they hire a girls BB coach to be the AD that will be the absolute dumbest thing possible for BH. Although it would not be frowned upon by the other teams in the district...It will ensure them a WIN on their schedule!! I have recently be discussing with my wife a move to BH with our 4 kids. The move would allow us to be closer to my family. The district has great academics and all sports programs are great as stated before. However, I would not even consider moving into the district with a girls BB coach as the AD. Heck, I would have to quit my job and go back to coaching just to put my name in the hat...lol "The only reason you hire a girls BB coach as the AD would be to submarine the football program...Like it or not, Football is King around here!!!!" -Coach Meaux
Believe it or not, but that is exactly what they tried to do a few years ago and it backfired. We lost a good superintendant because he wouldn't get rid of the AD and a couple of other administrators. Now they have found someone who will do their bidding for them. One of the culprits' name has been brought up on here, but the poster already knew the answer to the question when it was posted. Nice try though. More than likely this will start the decline of BH athletics as a whole. It is really a shame.
 13. GCMbigdaddy it's looking more and more that you are really from BH and might be one of the haters! ;D
 14. Brenham, PNG good luck to both teams this week. I really need a place to go and watch football this week. I hope this game is a barn burner to the wire! Good luck! The same for all of the area teams still competing on the field.
 15.
BH96 - That would be the worst decision of all time to bring back Hall.  If you know anything about when she was at BH previously, she did some very questionable things as a professional, a judge would even call it illegal.  If I had a daughter at BH I would not want Hall coaching her.
I don't think '96 suggested that she be brought back, that's just a possiblity with the group in control now.
 16.

I want to say this to all of you that have been praying for this day to come. If our board doesn't hire a great coach, and we get a guy in here that goes 5-5 the next three or four years, or who gets beat in the first round of the playoffs every time. I will be on here throwing it back in your face. See what I'm expecting with all the great talent we have, is a State Championship for the next three years. It wasn't exceptable for Price to go one or two rounds seven out of ten years, so the bar is set very high for the next guy.
I'm sorry before I even start but you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. The Hill has a lot of mediocre athletes that mommy and daddy think are at least small D1 material and the honest truth is that I can think of maybe 5 since 1995 that would be D1 football players possibly. And thats not a hit on the kids at all. Cause they work their butts of and have for years to be better than teams that out-athlete them. But the truth is that they are not all that naturally talented and never really have been. And when you are playing in District you face teams that are good and bad. But when you get to the playoffs... everyone is good. So natural athletes start to play a much bigger role. And when a team like the Hill who is and has been very fundamentally sound and hard working but just mediocre athlete-wise and they get to the playoffs and play a team like we have in the past (Kirbyville, Central, PNG, etc.) who is also fundamentally sounds but has one or two big name players that are naturally great athletes it is the deciding factor. Barbers Hill in the last 10 years has not had the Athlete-pool do go any further than one or two rounds. That has nothing to do with coaching and it will remain that way with the next coach unless he brings some phenomenal athlete to town with him.
What Big time athlete's does PNG have this year? This always seems to be the case where folks talk down the talent at BH while hyping the coaches. There are plenty of programs that are successful in the state with out DIV1 talent. BH has been beaten in the playoff by teams with no big name athlete's. Now don't get me wrong I am aware that BH doesn't have DIV1 talent, but as a whole I think the kids at BH should be able to compete in our area. The coaches are a big part of the developement of the kids, but BH parents spend tons of money during the off season with special camps and coaching to make there kids better. I know some folks are upset due to coach Price leaving and some (BH34) would just love to see the next guy fail ,so he could flap his wings an say "I told you so". Me on the other hand could care less! Alot of folks have been wanting a change at BH and Price made several changes during the last 4-5 years to try and make BH better, Those attempts failed for what ever reason. The important thing here is the Kids at BH and the schools Tradition! Folks live in BH for a reason and its not the new Sonic ;D Bring on the new coach and lets see what the Eagles are capable of! 10 years is a lifetime for a Football Coach to be a t a school! I hope Coach Price goes to another school and wins 5 State Championships! This is not the end of the world for Price or BH both will be just fine!
Hey, Brave and Bhfan, are ya'll smoking crack? Did ya'll actually read my post?   First off Brave, what do you think I was getting at in my post? Me and you agree 100%!! I know what Don had to work with and understand the great job he did with the talent he had. It wasn't good enough, for some though, they thought we should go three or four rounds every year(I wish we could have also) I understood were we stood talent wise with other teams once we got past the first round, and then throw in some bad luck, like losing Chris his senior year etc.etc. So now the next coach coming in here(using Price as a standard) has to go more than two rounds every year or he should be fired also...I mean, isn't that what we just did? I think you missed the sarcasm in my comments. Now Bhfan, I DO NOT want our next coach to fail!!! I said I hope that I get to eat my words on defending Price!!! I love this school and, NEVER, EVER, would want it to do bad, just so I could flap my wings about how wrong others were. I hope and pray that our board hires a great coach, that comes in here and far exceeds anything Price has done...I want to be wrong about Price leaving!!!  I want... no desire, to come back on here and tell you, and all the others, that I was wrong about Price and he should have gone long ago. But, if we get some nothing coach that takes the program backwards, then I'll be on here reminding you and others of what we lost...I hope and pray I don't have to do that. BHfan please don't turn my words around to say something I didn't say. I said in my post, that I am NOT one of those people that hope the program fails because my guy is gone. No matter what, I will always support our team, and the new coach. If he does a great job, I'll stick up for him just like I and others have done for Don. I have NO personal relationship with Don, so this isn't about politics. I just understand the great thing he has done here, and where the program was when he came and how much it improved under his leadership...even moving into 4a.
34, I knew exactly what you meant, and I agree with you. Good post!
 17.
Huh, my interpretation was: If you didn't think it was important and show your support in September then don't show up now. You bunch of band-wagon jumping glory hogs. If you only have one team shirt that takes you 30 minutes to dig out of the closet, then leave it there and stay home to watch one of the 7 CSI's.  >:(
You nailed it. If Snooks ever gets elected to public office you can be his interpreter. ;D

Believe it or not, although we disagree with the decision because of the reasons he was forced out, most of us all want the best for BH athletes. To adress the PNG portion of your comments, BH no doubt had the best athlete on the field period at the QB position. But look at the OL & DL size of PNG and the size at just about every position on the field and the sheer number of players PNG had compared to BH. It wasn't even close. Sure we had more team speed which is why we competed, but not game changing, break away speed. I have no idea whether or not you are in that group of fans that agree with the inner circle on the board that wanted him gone so they can bring back the glory days to the other sport BH was known for. But I do know that you have been around long enough to know what they tried in the past and that it is that same group driving this change. Good luck to the new regime coming in but know this, if the sport you coach has a ball with pointed ends on it, you will be second fiddle now that the roundballers are in control.
 19.

Price's departure had nothing to do with W's and L's, it was pure politics. When you have an inner circle on a board who have children who play a sport that they feel is not what it once was then it's the football programs' fault and the AD who runs the department. Plain and simple this is what it is about. This has been brewing for years and the inner circle's attempt backfired on them the first time. They took the longer, slower approach this time trying to shield themselves from the ire of the community, but we all know how and why this happened. The reason it had to be now instead of at the end of the existing contract, however long that would be is because of the larger classes coming through the system would have made us more competitive and thus harder for the powers that be to make a change. That's it in a nutshell! Don't let anyone tell you any different.
Trucked, you and Bigdaddy know whats going on don't you? You are 100% on target. I don't think most fans have a clue. Great post!! A dagger, to the heart of the matter.
You know as well as I that there are a lot of people that know exactly what and why it happened. Let the bodies hit the floor! ;D
 20.
i wish they would let the team with the better record get home field  and if both teams have the same record, then flip for it.
That's not really fair with the teams that are playing in different districts, different levels of competition some teams breeze into the playoffs and others have fight and scrape to get in. Coin toss is fair IMO.
 21. "Seems every parent in BH thinks there kid is an all-american..I could not believe in the play-off game vs PNG with the score 7-7 they were still own his arss from the BH side....With the talent he has had i think he has done a excellant job of coaching..." Bigdaddyblue that is one big problem: But trust me it is not about football and as soon as the new guy gets here he will get slapped in the face with a dose of reality.
 22. Coogs and Broncos, I need something to cheer me up. Go out and dominate this weekend, this once BH fan is pulling for you all the way!
 23.

It's not that hard to follow really, you have been around this program long enough to know that the  issues that I raised are true. I know most coaches would welcome any challenge to have a chance to coach at BH with all it has to offer and the potential that is there. Make no mistake, once inside he will have to deal with the issues I mentioned earlier and the possibility of working under an AD ( he or she ) that coaches a different sport.
I would "bet the farm" that the next football coach at BH will also be the AD. You are going to have a hard time selling the job any other way.
I agree but the same culprits tried it before and they will try again. Or they will get someone more sympathetic to their point of view.
 24.
I'm sure it will be approved now. The powers were waiting for Coach Price to leave. He was told no to turf several times.  ;)
You are exactly right, and those same people are the ones who put into play the events that caused the other thread about BH today.
