The all time record between Kirbyville and Silsbee is 11-1, in favor of Silsbee. Kirbyville's only win in the matchup was a 29-28 win 3 years ago.
True and the last time they played, Kville won. So you would think that Silsbee would play them again to get back on top. But they refuse to play such a close opponent. Instead they play Newton. Lets see , drive through Kville to play Newton, how embarrassing.

I was told by a guy that the reason Army, Navy, Air Force..., and other such schools run the option is because they have lesser athletes than the schools they compete against. You don't have to block everyone and you always have a double team at the point of attack with the QB blocking the read ( or unblocked guy) with his mind. You can run the offense with lesser athletes that are well disciplined ie.. the military schools.

I have heard that Newton turned in 309 and might be considered a small school in 2A. I hope so , I would hate for Kirbyville and Newton to play in the third round of the playoffs.

Interesting topic. My only question to ChampionEagles is what scheme should Kirbyville and Newton run? I've watched alot of football and have seen both teams play numerous times. It seems that Newton runs some kind of gap attacking defense with man coverage and Kirbyville runs a 4-3 defense with a cover two look. From my knowledge there are only two more defenses you can run and that would be a 5-2 or split six. Which defense do you suggest would bring the two schools up to date in this new age of football? Or do you simply believe that both schools should run the spread and try to out score this new unstoppable offense?

Did a little research. #55 is Carter Street. He now wears jersy #2 and is 6'4" and weighs 250 and runs a 4.7 40. He has committed to La Tech.

They are big, strong, fast and a large 2A school. I believe Kville can hang with them but they will have to play flawless football to win this game. Again, I will be rooting for the Kats and I hope they prove me wrong but, as much as I hate to say it, I have to go with Pilot Point in this one; Pilot Point 26 Kville 19 Prove me wrong KATS!!!
Dont think they could hang with Daingerfield
where did that come from? i don't remember anyone saying anything about kirbyville and daingerfield? You might be looking for some of the arp posters, but you are in the wrong place at the present time.
If you don't think Kirbyville can hang with Dfield...Why waste your breath bringing it up...who cares we don't play Dfield.... ;D ;D
I know kville cant hang so dont waste your breath saying they are capable...
What was the score in that gilmer game like 49-6
I'm sure if your coach would call Coach Alvarez that he would set up a game next year at a neutral sight (distance you know). And then we could beat another powerhouse on our state title trip next year.

They mixed up the offensive plays to keep the Comfort D guessing, kept the mistakes to a minnimum and the 'Cats D had a fantastic night. Ford just had to keep them occupied (and still had over 100 yds) which gave others a chance to make big plays. Just play it like that again and things should go well for them.
I agree, Kirbyville will have to be balanced on both sides of the ball. They'll need to keep an eye on Seth Tilley, their quarterback. Everybody talks about Jarman Johnson and the Wildcats can't let him run loose. But if they load up on him, Tilley will make them pay because he can throw (and he spreads the ball around) and he can run. On offense, just like last night and against Arp, they are gonna have to stay balanced. They can't just count on Ford to get the plays, guys like Kael, Caleb and JaMichael will have to come up big.
I agree with you WOSgrad...Kville will have a lot on their plate..Johnson the RB has 2,727 rushing yds,They have another one with 1,600 yds..And Tilley is like you say...He can throw and from the stats on him he don't have a favorite reciever..Kville is gonna have to get hard down Mean( of course legally)..If They will do what they did with Comfort,Stay focused, play hard every down,Keep the penalities down..They can bring home the State Trophy..!!! "GO HARD KAT'S, BRING IT HOME.!!
Who has 1,600 yds?

Geat game. Congratulations to the Panthers on a great season. Unlike most posters I'm not going to say that Kville had an off night on offense. All the credit goes to Anahuac's defense for their relentless performance. That #7 and #90 are very good players and proved it all night. Kvilles defense also continued their great play against an offense that lacked some imagination. I really hate when posters seem to think that if their team doesn't score at will that they're having an off night. Or when they say the offense didn't play well but the defense did. Most of the time in sports the game will hinge on the matchups. I believe that the Anahuac defense matched up well with the Kville offense and really focussed on Fred Ford, this allowed the Ervine brothers to have a good night and the Wildcats to come away with the win. Again, Great game Anahuac. Oh yeah, Wildcats go get them Tigers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kirbyville!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They will return 7 on offense and 7 on defense .

Kirbyville vs. Anahuac Prediction's
mudcat replied to brianmcd's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I don't know what kind of speed Anahuac has, but I do know that Corrigan Camden won the 2A State Track Meet last year. #22 could fly for CC last week but Kville adjusted their pursuit angles after the 1st quarter and contained him nicely the rest of the game. Also #3 for CC caught Ford early, I guess Ford used his Turbo later because he didn't get caught again. Kville 60 AP 13 -
Is this the beginning of the end of Hooks ERA
mudcat replied to lsimmons9897's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Coach Hooks will return. He is a winner and a winner will leave when he feels good about his season. I know unless you win a state championship, the season will always end with a loss. I don't believe he feels good about this season with the turmoil (IMO). -
I only have one question , and someone may be able to answer it. Why is it that when someone is accused of something they are usually suspended while the investigation is going on? I really thought that we live in AMERICA where you are innocent UNTIL proven guilty. Why can't we wait until something is proven before we start handing out punishment. Yes I understand if it is a serious case where lives are threatened, but we are talking about high school football, not a rape or murder case.

Were will K-ville & AP play if they meet?
mudcat replied to kennelsdennis's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
The word on the street in Kville is that PNG is not allowing playoff games in their stadium and that Kville, Corrigan and Anahuac have agreed to the next round being played in Dayton. -
I would like to congratulate Coach Alvarez, his staff, and the Wildcats. This was suppose to be a rebuilding year and you have surpassed the expectations of Southeast Texas and probably the rest of the state. You have proven yourself time and again that you know how to win football games. I wish you good luck and hope your team stays healthy on your Championship run.
If you look at the numbers, nearly every team in AA on this site has between 2 and 10 posters. If you look at the people in the stands on Friday nights you see thousands. Percentage of posters is small and Arptiger's views are the same, small. This in no way reflects what the overall fan base at Arp thinks and acts like. For that matter Daingerfield, Newton, Kirbyville are all in the same boat. Some of us(and I include myself) are a little more vocal and at times overboard with post. It's a defense mechanism that relieves stress and at times is quite funny. Never does it remove food from my table.
Great quote, ChampionEagles hit the nail on the head with this one. Good game to both teams last Friday and good luck to the Eagles. I believe Newton will beat Daingerfield this year due to their QB being healthy and if Bennett takes a week off vs Buffalo he will be explosive in the playoffs. It's time for two State Champions to come out of this district.
