Very glad we (Lamar) got Coach Davis when we did. Now if we can Vincent-Beck upgraded Lamar will continue to see baseball on the upswing.

Pet peeve:. Players at night wearing sunglasses on their hat....continue (sorry) just had to throw that out there.

Both of those teams you listed will return a lot next year. The loss to Flatonia did not sit well with our boys.

Not associated with TASO, but the last several years there are quite a few players on each team. I'm not sure they release a roster. There will be at least 20 on each team.

Can't they go JUCO, which is not governed by NCAA? I can see Blinn or Kilgore getting very good / very quick with the right players coming in.

Man, I get on here starting during football season just looking for a new thread. Basketball season comes and we see a few more. Both my boys left in high school play both of those sports, but my heart is on the diamond. Baseball season rolls around (finally) and we are stuck in the basketball playoffs. Then that day gets here where they can finally lace them up. The metal spikes hit the concrete and suddenly all is right in the world. We go through the early tourney part of the season. Those are so much fun because you see kids that they play with in summer travel ball. Pre-district hits and you are ironing out everything getting ready for district. District schedules are tough for some and not so much for others. But it is those district games that determine if you can make the playoffs. For those lucky enough you get to make that charge for state. Man, then it ends and depression sets in. We literally walked around for a few days like zombies. I get one more season with my middle one, and he will be a senior next year. To those starting with young kids - enjoy every minute. I know the "HS Baseball" will get bumped shortly to the bottom. My boys are already working for next season and promise to make it memorable. Thanks to all the coaches who give so much time. Thanks to the umpires who do their best and get nothing but the worse. Thanks to our opposition. When we win we learn and when we lose we learn so much more. Thanks to the fans, and the biggest thanks goes to my boys. I love watching y'all, and love the men you are becoming. Next year can't get here soon enough - but for this one at least - I am not ready for it. This guy loves baseball. Off to the summer schedule, and showcase circuit.

Instead of taking it down, I'll issue an apology. I have heard this MIGHT happen for the past several weeks. I saw the opening posted on a basketball site, so I took it as fact. I was made aware today that Coach has not put in a resignation letter. Coach Talbert has done a great job with these boys, and I wish him nothing but the best (if he stays or if he goes). He might very well end up going down to the Corpus area, but as of now he is still a Rebel.

My son made it from Evadale, and we received very little media coverage. Was surprised he made it, although he had a great year. Very thankful, but we never heard anything about the banquet and no correspondence. Always looked forward to this way back in the day. Would like to see the Enterprise really get back into HS sports.

Coach Talbert supposedly going to the Corpus area. Heard about this officially today. Should have a really good team returning, and losing Big Sandy out of the district.

Congrats to all the selectees. We have a lot of great baseball in our area. Recognize and have seen almost every kid on that list. Best of luck to all those seniors in the next chapter of your life, whether that be on the diamond or not.

Man, between Jasper, Anahuac and now Crosby if we have another rain filled spring those venues are going to make some money. Also, you know these fields will fill up first for playoffs. Congratulations, and hope you will post pictures as the construction begins.
