1. Didn't you have a coach who was real excited about the baseball season, had done a bunch of work on the field and you fired him right before the season?  This was a young man with great moral character, very knowledgeable of the game, and excited about growing a program.  The young man had played all four years in college, and sure seemed like a perfect fit for your school.  This coach went out and found a grant to purchase items for the field, getting a wind screen for the outfield fence, and several loads of dirt.  I'm just curious and would like to know if there are some problems with the program before someone would consider making a donation.
2. Was just a general question, going to try and catch this game.  I don't live in Chester anymore, but down in Bridge City and before I headed that way wanted to make sure it was still on.  I had only seen the one post on it, so I was checking.  Thanks for the information.
3. I hope Chester is only concentrating on their first series.  I could care less about Evadale, Maud, Overton or any other team that the 'Jackets might face, because you don't win your first series you're at the house watching everyone else.  Chester is an unknown, and I would just as soon let everyone talk about Evadale and continue to talk about their run to state.  We'll just play as hard as we can, and things will work themselves out one way or another.
4. Great, thanks.  Keep us updated, I sure would like to get up there and see them play.  We played Latexo in Nacogdoches....or was it at Sam Houston....that was a long time ago.  Hopefully it will be the same results though.
5. Who will Chester start out with in the playoffs, and where?
6. Took my son to this game, and neither of us was disappointed.  What a great game, and well played by both sides.  You hate to see anyone lose a game like this, but someone had to.  Congratulations Orangefield, and best of luck to both teams in the playoffs.
7. Best of luck to the Bulldogs.
8. That was a great story.  What an awesome opportunity it would be to sit down and be able to talk baseball with such history.  It kind of reminds me of Sandlot.
9. Coach Dave is the man, congratulations to the Storm.
10. The Yellowjackets of Chester High are having a great season.  It's always nice to be under the radar.  They are capable of putting together a nice run in the playoffs.  We have never won state, but been very close before.  You never know, maybe this is the year.  Evadale does have a strong team, but there are other teams capable of making a run in state and Chester has to be near the top of that list.
11. What about Hickman from Chester.  He is a freshman and has had a great season.
12. I'm sure proud of my alma mater....way to go 'Jackets.  Here's hoping we can have a deep run into the playoffs.
13. Keep rolling 'Jackets.....play hard every game.
14. Yea, I have one comment..... [move]GO Jackets!!!![/move]
15. Way to go 'Jackets.  Keep playing hard, and set the goals high.
16. Thanks a bunch, I sure hope to get up there from Bridge City and catch a game or two.  Best of luck to the coach and all the boys.
17. I heard that news today.  He graduated 2 years after me, but I've known him my whole life and expect great things from him.  His dad set the bar high, but class is an excellent word to use when referring to him.
18. Excellent point, I just use sarcasm.  Be proud of your team, and work hard.  You do your thing and we'll do ours.  The only real rival we had (which was a long time ago mind you) was Colmesneil.  However, we always kept it friendly and knew each other and were actually friendly.  Best of luck to the Rebels, and to each team as they go through their district schedule.
19. Why don't they go ahead and just give Evadale the state title?  No one else even need show up, 1 - 14 they hit homers every at bat.
20. Way to go 'Jackets......keep it going.
21. Well it has been a busy, yet fun-filled week and it is hard to believe it is over.  We played a double-header last night against the Caguas Athletics, and we won both finishing out the week 5 wins and 4 losses.  Daniel played all but about 4 innings total, and finished strong at the plate.  He was 2 for 3 the first game, with a triple and 2 runs scored.  We won that game 17 to 0.  The second game he went 1 for 2, with an RBI.  The best I can tell he went 7 for 15 (.466) for the tourney, with 2 triples, 4 k's, and 4 BB's.  He pitched 3 innings, taking a loss, but getting 3 k's, and giving up 6 hits, and 1 BB.
22. We played one game tonight, a seven inning game against the San Juan Yankees.  We lost 12 to 8, making our record 3 wins and 4 losses.  Daniel went 1 for 2, with a walk, bringing him to 4 for 11 so far.  We finish out tomorrow, and visit Caguas again.  It has been a great trip, and we have met people from all over the country.  They love our accent, but it's them that have an accent, especially the ones from Maine, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
23. It was a great day today.  Daniel started on the mound for game 1, and did really well.  We played against a different all-star team from San Juan, and split the double header.  We lost the game Daniel pitched but he pitched two shutout innings, and had one rough one.  He had 3 k's, and 1 BB, and gave up about 6 hits.  We lost 12 to 8, and Daniel went 1 for 1 with a walk.  The second game we won 10 to 9, making our record so far, 3 wins and 3 losses.  The second game D went 1 for 2, making him 3 for 10 for the trip, or a .300 batting average.  Tomorrow we go back to Roberto Clemente Walker stadium for practice.
24. Yellow-Jackets in a close one, 7 - 4.
