1. So far we are 2 and 2.  The two wins were against all-star teams from Caguas, and the two losses were against all-star teams from San Juan.  Daniel went 1 for 3 last night with a triple, and has been busy in left field.  It is a beautiful island, and we have practiced on several of the major league winter ball stadiums.
2. 'Sting 'em Jackets, keep it going.
3. Congratulations coach, and here's hoping for many more too. The Beans
4. Golden Triangle Knights: > Bucky Bean - 1
5. Going with the Aggies on winning it this year.
6. 15 miles north of Woodville on HWY 287.  But if you're traveling 65 mph don't blink, you might just miss it.
7. I expect them to make the playoffs, compete for the district title, and how far they go will depend on their pitching.
8. Awesome job Coach Rod, and I hope the best for ya'll.
9. Excellent job, and ya'll are going to have a great season.  Keep it going Coach Brad.
10. Congratulations, and I know it will only be the start of a great season.
11. Daniel Bean, a member of the GTB Gunslingers and Bridge City Little League, leaves this Saturday to play a week in Puerto Rico.  He will be representing the USA for the Coast to Coast organization, and will be playing top teams from PR.  There will be 14 players from throughout the USA on the roster, but only 2 from Texas.  If interested in reading more please view the following link: [Hidden Content]
12. Excellent job under tough circumstances.  I hope some of that rubs off because we go there this weekend.  Again, great job and keep it up.
13. The 80's was a long time ago, but when we played them they didn't have a fence.  It made for some interesting games, and was always a fun time playing there.
14. The Golden Triangle Knights, a group of home-schooled, high school athletes play their first game tomorrow.  This is the first season for the Knights, and they will be coached by Ryan Richey.  The parents are excited about the opportunity being afforded the young players.  They have a small schedule this year, but hope the program will flourish and that a full schedule can be developed for next year.  They will be playing Good Samaritan, (another home-school organization) out of Fred, Tx tomorrow.  Toward the end of the year they will play in a state world series against other home-school programs from Dallas, Conroe, Houston, San Antonio and other areas.  For more information you can reach the website @:  www.wix.com/gtknights/baseball.
15. Congrats Mustangs, will be a competitive district this year.
16. Way to go Jackets..I am expecting a great season from them this year.
17. That will be this team if we can find enough players.
18. There will be an organizational meeting Monday, February 22, 2010 at 3:00 p.m., at GTB.  This is simply a planning meeting to answer questions and see how many players are interested.  GTB is located behind the fields at the Bridge City Little League off of FM 1442.  If you have any questions please feel free to call me at (409) 550-1598.  Home-schoolers from 7th to 12th grade are eligible. Tim Bean
19. I know our select team has 8 of 10 playing league ball too, with most playing in Bridge City.  I'll leave all the prognosticating to everyone else, but I expect Bridge City to be very competitive.
20. What about the Community Christian Lions out of Orange?  I saw in the paper where there coach, Ryan Ritchey has been doing a lot of improvements to their facilities.
21. Burkeville has always had great athletes, on that there is no doubt.  Best of luck this year, and and I hope it's a competitive district for all.
22. Those associated with those communities......would be my guess.  :o
23.
23 1A "The Lakes District" Broaddus Burkeville Brookeland Chester Chireno Colmesneil West Sabine Zavalla This is actually a very competitive district.
I'd sure like to see Chester take it and think they have a great shot.  Colmesneil is always tough and West Sabine is always right there too, so I guess it will probably come down to who can avoid injuries, and get their pitching straight.
24.     Ron, I hesitate to answer you because I don't want this thread to become a debate about the validity of home-schooling.  It is a decision my wife and I made, and I didn't want the discussion to denigrate against that.  I will explain ever so briefly that there is an increasing number of families that are making this decision.  I have three boys, and I want to provide them with all available opportunities for sports.  It would be a viable option to start a home-schooled select team, but again, I need to know if the interest is out there.     TD, I really appreciate the support.  Ron, I was hesitant to respond because of the reasons mentioned above.  I was unaware of the home-schooled teams out of Sulpher, and if I don't get a response that is definitely something to look into.  If we were able to get something going, we would start out playing smaller schools, and just see where the talent takes us.  The home-schooled team out of Conroe has won the national home-school world series if I am not mistaken.  Ron, it might turn out that I do put my two younger ones in school, but if this option becomes available I doubt that would happen.  This was just a fishing thread, and was simply meant to gauge the interest.  I will work on getting this posted through HEART, Grace Co-op, and any of the other home-schooling organizations I can think of locally.
25. It would be a team of home-schooled kids.  Team sports are the hardest thing to organize.  A lot of home-schooled kids will run track, cross-country or play individual sports such as tennis or golf, but team sports opportunities are not there.  In the Houston area they have a lot of co-ops that band together and make teams, and basketball and baseball are the most popular.  I'm just trying to see if there is enough interest for this area.  I have three boys, and the decision gets tough about enrolling them in school or just getting a team together.
