This may ramble even more, so bear with me.  As humans we have mental human limitations (at least I do).  I can’t imagine a universe with no end.  In my mind, there should be a border, a drop off, a wall - something.  Can’t even begin to imagine what would be on the other side of that - something.  That mental limitation prevents us from understanding God’s love for us, until something happens to enlighten us somewhat.  I use to ask myself, how could God continue to love us when we’re constantly ignoring him and being.....well, bad.   Then I got enlightened.  Prior to going in Marines, our Grandson worked at Tractor Supply.  One day he heard a noise from a pallet full of feed stacked 4 to a layer with a hole in the middle.  At the bottom of that hole was a kitten about a month old, skinny & full of fleas.  He got her out & brought her home & him & his Dad bathed her and de-fleaed her.  He couldn’t keep her in his apartment so she ended up with me & my wife.  Took her to the Vet when a little older for shots and neutered.  We hadn’t had pets in forever.  Didn’t really want one, but inevitably we fell in love with “Maise”.  Now some of you have never had cats.  They’re to heck & gone from dogs, who (for the most part) are loving & obedient.  Cats think they run things.  Rarely display affection, and ignore commands.  Point is, we still love her - despite the ignoring & lack of affection from her, yep, we still love her.  I guess that’s the way God loves us, even when we ignore him, and ignore his Commandments.

I hope his post hasn’t offended anyone.  It could be construed as being sacrilegious I guess, but certainly not my intention.  I do find it amazing that I can learn something about (from?) God from a durn cat,  I guess there’s a little bit of God all around us if we just look for him.

My dad told me before he passed, “Do I love you when you’ve disobeyed me or disappointed me - Yes!!!  God is a Father and He wants your love but understands you’ll fail Him.”  Great post Hagar!!

  2. Vandy with the win 7-6 in the 12th.  Why do you have the infield in, when a double play gets you out of the inning?  Pitcher rolls a perfect DP ball to shortstop, he did his job.  Not a fan of any west coast teams, but they should still be playing.

  3. That is what I wish would happen.  I see these elections come and go and they all focus on what they feel people want to hear.  Black, yellow, red or white, pandering to the division.  Would it be possible for an actual leader to emerge?  I see these major events come and just would love to see the president break in and actually speak from the heart.  So many opportunities come and go and the abilities to heal and bring people together are squandered.

  4. After what Stanford did to Tech a lot of people thought that Stanford was the team to beat coming in to Omaha.  NC State dispatched the #1 team in the nation and they have a 4 run lead over Stanford in the 4th.  I can’t believe any team would wear black during the day in Omaha.

  5. To the disdain of many I believe there were numerous improprieties in this past election.  Too many things just didn’t meet the logic or smell test.  With that being said, I am so tired of all these commissions, groups, investigations researching everything.  The lines are drawn, we believe what we believe and they believe what they believe.  There are ideological and definitive divisions within this country that I fear will never heal.  There is manipulation through the varying media formats that are doing their job and doing it well.  I truly believe that EVEN if one of these investigations found a “smoking gun” the media would bury it, or that person would be found shot in the back of the head - committing “suicide”.  Circle the wagons, prepare yourselves for very tough times ahead, and make things right with God.

  6. Had an observation I meant to post last week; draw your own conclusions.  After UT won their super-regional in baseball the team stayed out on the field, horns raised in celebration of the victory with their fans.  Is it just football team that has a problems with it?  Don’t really care for or follow basketball until March madness so I don’t know about the on-court traditions.  Just found it interesting in light of the “controversy” (heavy emphasis on air-quotes).

Great article…..got to be around him and Jack when they were young.  We had boys the same age and they were always together at the Pony fields in Orange.  I’m so proud of both of them, and this is an amazing honor for Chad!  I know TD and mom are proud of all three kids, and their love and devotion definitely shine in their kids.
