Senior night in Rebel-land. Daniel Bean is the lone senior and just happens to be my middle son. Time flies, and it seems like yesterday we were headed to our first OYBS practice. From the first all-star trip with Jack Dallas, KJ Miller, Blade Broussard, Tre Bernard and the rest of the team that ended up 8th in the state - at 5 years old it has been a great journey. This has been a blessing as he has been privileged to play with so many great players: Jack Dallas - Lamar, KJ Miller - ETBU Mac Patterson - West Point Andrew Wood - Alvin JC Jordan Johnson - UA-Monticello, Trevis Sundgren - U of H, Kelby Weyler - Rice, Chet Jones - Lamar, Chase Partain - Lamar, Logan LeJeune - Lamar, Bryan Bergeron - Schreiner, Caleb Edmonds - Panola, Dalton Bennett - Blinn, Nathan Vidrine - Alvin, Austin Hendrix - TAMU, Bryce Holmes - Alvin. I know I've probably missed someone, and for that I apologize. We have gotten to watch you play at TAMU, U of H, Rice, TCU, Texas Tech, Lamar, McNeese, Sam Houston, SFA, NWSU, Alvin, Blinn and so many more beautiful parks. My personal faves were TAMU, Rice, Tech and U of H. We love you son and hope you have a great night, and a deep playoff run. It has been a blessing to watch you play the game and develop into a leader and a great young man.

This will be senior night for the Rebels. Looking forward to this, albeit somewhat bittersweet. Hard to believe this will be the last home game. Let's go Rebels!

Mark it down now, but I'm telling you Spurger has the potential to make a deep playoff run. They have improved a lot this year. Their pitchers throw strikes, and they make contact and make you field the ball. Not sure how deep they can go, but I can see them going 3 rounds deep (even further if they get on a hot streak).

Yes sir, sorry - and I am betting weather is going to be a factor in a lot of games today. The district track-meet is tomorrow, so there might be some Thur/Fri games.

Baseball is by far my favorite sport. The time we spend with our dads (sometimes mom too) growing up lead to so many memories. My son is a senior this year, and we have lived in many different communities. He has played little league, all-stars and travel ball leaving us with great connections all over the Golden Triangle. We love keeping up with all those old friends and seeing how their HS careers have progressed. It seems this year there has been a marked decrease in posting. You can get 20 pages in the HS Football thread on who the better back-up punter would be. But you get major district games at large schools and have 3 generic posts. HS Basketball will generate views on who's gym has the best nachos. You've got some great district rivalries, and some close district races. Take some time, brag on your school. Boast on your kids, and let us know what's happening in these games. You might think no one is interested, but I guarantee someone will appreciate you posting and it will be read.

Evadale travels to Woodville on Saturday for a non-district match-up with the host Eagles. The game will have a 1:00 pm start time.

Big Sandy will go in as the #1 seed (2A), and Evadale as the #2. Deweyville, Sabine Pass and West Hardin are going to fight it out for the 3rd and 4th playoff spots. This district will match up with 26-2A in the 1st round of the playoffs. >. Deweyville has SP, Evadale & HD. >. Sabine Pass has Deweyville, HI and WH. >. West Hardin has Spirger, Big Sandy and SP. Looks like Spurger will go in as the #1 (1A) seed, and High Island as the #2 seed.
