After a week off, I'm ready to see our boys compete again. Big Sandy is always a well-coached team. This will be a great jump-start to get ready to start district against a tough Deweyville team on Friday. We've had injuries - but everyone deals with that. I think the boys had a great week of practice and are ready to get on the court against an opponent.

Congrats KJ (& Kent). Super proud of him, and know he has always put in the work. Some university will get a steal.

Can't wait for the season, even though I'll have one that is a senior. What's your thoughts on the district and how it might turn out. The district remains the same, save the addition of the Deweyville Pirates. I'm not sure, but I think I'm right when I say that High Island and Spurger will be in the playoffs no matter what. They will represent the district as 1-A members. Then, the remaining members will fight for three 2-A spots. Deweyville drops down from 3-A, so you know they will be salty and have athletes. West-Hardin and Hull-Daisetta return numerous starters. Big Sandy has a ton returning, and they went the furthest last year. They also have several players committed to colleges (TAMU & Alvin JC). They will be primed to make a deep run again. Evadale returns most of their team and should challenge for a playoff spot. Should be a fun season, and I am going to enjoy every minute. Interested in your thoughts.

1986 Chester Yellowjackets. We were horrible, but gave great effort. Today we would all get a blue ribbon for participation & a trophy.

Update / final on the Evadale-Vidor game?

Update on the Evadale-Vidor game? How did Daniel do this morning? I'm with my 2 other boys hunting up in Chester. I have a Boone & Crockett mosquito I'm gonna have a shoulder mount done on.

It is an amazing day today. Jesus is the reason for the season. My middle son is a senior this year so while I am super excited about the upcoming season - I'm also dreading it. I absolutely love high school baseball and looking forward to a great season of Evadale baseball.

Any thoughts on the district race as we get set to come back from the holidays and start the party? Deweyville is the new-comer and appears to be having a pretty good season. Sabine Pass was highly touted coming into the season. I know West Hardin supporters were optimistic before the season. HD had a successful football season and great athletes. Evadale has done well under the new (old) coach. Just curious what the opinions were as we get started.
