Gonna try and get to Tenaha / SP on Thursday, but definitely be in Jasper on Friday to watch Timpson and those Evadale Rebels!

The Lady Yellowjackets of Chester High School have advanced to the regional tournament! So proud of these ladies for all of their hard work and dedication. I do believe this is the farthest they have ever advanced. My niece, Cayla Greer is on the team and the just called me and let me know. This proud Yellowjacket alumni will be cheering them on from afar.

I am not an alumni, and my kids don't go to school there. I tell you though, this Vidor Pirate team has a fan. I love how hard those boys play. As a cop, that thin blue line on the helmet looks great! Best of luck in the playoffs and I'll be cheering for y'all from wherever Evadale is playing.

Tri-district champs, going in as the #2 seed. Senior night, and a great send-off to the playoffs for our senior group: Kagen Rawls, Casey Black, Brady Griffin, Grant Herrington, Zac Stark, Daniel Bean, Tye Frazier, Garrett Beard, Kolten Mackey, Jacob Burge, Mac Marcental. Thanks guys for a great season. Best of luck heading into the playoffs.

Not sure of all the set scores, but Chester won. My niece said they would be playing Monday night in Lovelady against Oakwood.

You know I work nights....I got all the time in the world.

I know he is defense-minded, but could you just imagine the staff he could organize. OC Peyton Manning running the "Spurger Spread"....instead of Omaha - Omaha, the QB could yell Dam B - Dam B. The defense would be confused wondering where the Honey-Nut Cheerio Bee was. Awwwwww, just imagine.

Wouldn't it be wild if Wade Phillips, from SETX was able to start a Spurger football program. Just think with all that coaching experience how good they could be.

The Heineken commercial with Doogie Howser talking about "flipping another man's meat"......dang, enough already! Very subtle Heineken.

When, where and who for our first round?

Man what a game! Defense had some big stops. Parker Moye with a huge sack. Chris Adams and Daniel Bean with big stops. Paxton Bryan and Trent sons with great corner play. Trent got a big interception to set up a score. Offense just flat out rolled. Tyler Torres had some nice scrambles. Colton Mackey and Brady Griffin with nice receptions, and Coy Williams in full beast mode. Parker Moye and Tye Frazier with great lead blocking. O-line never gets enough credit. Colton with the punt that pinned Iola at their one. I want to type every player's name, because EVERYONE contributed to a huge win. Super proud of you boys, and excellent job by the coaching staff. I could not believe they went for it at 4th and 1, deep in their territory. That decision by their staff, and our defensive hold really was the game. As Coach L says, "Great day to be a Rebel"
