  3. All the concessions at Ford Park events are run by SMG/Jefferson Co.  They don't allow any outside food or drinks, with the exception of one cooler for each team.  Please fill that cooler with drinks to keep your players & coaches hydrated, but it's only one per team.  We will also have ice water in the dugouts. Just let me know if there are any other issues.  First weekend went great with the exception of the summer heat, followed by a monsoon.  We will be rescheduling those 10 games that got rained out, at all the teams convenience.  There was a lot of really tight games & the umpires/coaches did a great job helping kids with pickoff's and leading off.  I'll be posting the results and standings online too. www.setexasbaseballacademy.com . thanks. Jason

  6. The rosters are finalized.  I only misspelled about half the leagues name wrong, so not bad.  I will get all the coaches their kids contact numbers via email tonight.  I will also have copies of all the registration forms for each coach at the meeting on Sunday.  Sorry for the delay.  Just wanted to get it right before coaches started contacting everyone. thanks. Jason
  7. We have posted the fall schedule & rosters for the fall league at Ford Park.  We ended up with 26 teams and over 300+ kids for first year. The coaches meeting will be Sunday, Aug. 29th, 2:00 Pm at the Holiday Inn on Walden/I-10 (in the Port Arthur room). There will be a FREE players/coaches/parents clinic at the baseball academy the same day at 3:30PM.  Hope everyone can come out.  We will cover all the basic fundamentals that the kids will use this fall & they can all hit for free. The Baseball Academy cages & token machines will be free Saturday & Sunday for all teams & players participating in the fall league.  Coaches can book cages in advance by calling 409-842-3900. To see rosters or schedules, go to the website at www.setexasbaseballacademy.com . Thanks.
  8. Now i see why every league president in the area asked me, "are you sure you what your getting yourself into."  I really don't see your point, other than trying to stir up drama before the season even starts.  All these kids signed up thru their league or online on the baseball academy website.  I guess if they played select before, i should just tell them they can't participate.  As i said before, there are a lot of extremely talented kids that don't play select baseball in this area for various reasons (time commitment, church, etc.).  The league is going to fun and the teams are going to be competitve.  If you don't like the way it was setup, i'm happy to offer you a full refund.  There are already kids on the waiting list that would be happy to get on a team.  Thats works better for me, than trying to stir up problems on a forum.
  9. There are no select teams.  There are a lot of kids that played select ball though.  The goal of the league is interleague play among the different pony/dixie/little leagues while getting as much competitive balance as possible.  There is no reason to split kids up, just to split them up.  All that will do is make it harder than it has to be on the parents and kids.  There are a lot of kids that don't play select that can more than hold their own out there.  If you are going to make comments like that, than you should put your name at the bottom. thanks. Jason Tyner
  10. I will get it to all the coaches asap.  want to wait a day to make sure theres not any mistakes.  And as for the comment earlier, most of the kids on every team either were on a select team or all-stars for their league.
  11. Every team in the major division has good players.  There are 2 open teams and then 5 teams based primarily, if not all from the same little league.  Will be a very competitive division.
  12. Rosters are posted.......... www.setexasbaseballacademy.com
  13. I'm going to try to have all rosters posted on the Academy website by Sunday night ( www.setexasbaseballacademy.com ) .  As of now, we have 330+ registrations and more expected in the mail the next two days. We are still planning on having the coaches meeting and free clinic next Sunday, August 29th.  Time and location is still to be determined. Want to say thanks to all the leagues, parents & coaches that helped me get this thing going.  We have far exceeded my expectations for a first year league and i know its only going to get bigger and better each year.  Thanks and i'm looking forward to a fun fall season. i'm still going to take some late registrations up until thursday night, if you can come to the academy between 3-7PM to deliver your registration and payment. Thanks. Jason Tyner

  19. Our anticipated game times are: 1:00PM 2:45PM 4:30PM We will put 1:30 time limits on the game (no inning can start after 90 minutes).  Teams traveling from the furthest away will get later game times.  For example, we have kids/teams coming from Sulphur, Silsbee, Jasper, Dayton, Baytown & Liberty.  Everyone's 2 games will be back to back, so you won't have to sit around for 2 hours waiting for second game.  If we have over 36 teams, we will have to add a 4th time slot.
  20. Coaches:  You can email your MLB team name request & will do my best to honor them first come, first serve.  Send me a list of your top 5-10 choices to my email, [email protected]
