  1. EC. Call me crazy.
  2. Going from memory here, so forgive me if I am wrong but the standings at the moment are: Newton 3-0 Woodville 2-1 San Augustine 2-1 Corrigan-Camden 1-2 Hemphill 1-2 Shelbyville 0-3 The big games (in terms of how things shake-out) in my opinion are CC vs SA this week and Woodville vs. Hemphill next week. Assuming Newton wins out, the loser of the CC/SA game is likely out and the winner of the Hemphill/Woodville game is in.
  3. The tie-breakers do indeed vary by district and alignment period.
  4. I don't think it is too early at all. It is not yet set but the picture is certainly starting to form. I think the most likely scenario at this point is: Div1 Woodville vs Buna Div2 Newton vs Hardin/Kountze winner Div2 EC vs CC
  5. I am quite interested in the outcome of this game! Winner meets Newton is Bi-district?
  6. My pick goes to EC. Here is the reason: They are the reigning champs. They stay champs in my mind until someone knocks them off. Maybe it is Buna, maybe not. But as of today EC are champs of 24-2A. Look at the district standing over the past couple years. You'll notice a trend. It is not a coincidence. There are certain teams in this area that you just should not pick against once district starts. EC, Newton, and WOS come right to mind. (Barring odd stretches like when EC and Newton Pick against them in a district game and you will be right about once every 10 years or so. Perhaps this is the rare district loss for EC. Me, I'm sticking with the champs.
  7. Newton 24 Corrigan Camden 20 FINAL
  8. If you want to research the legislation look for House Bill 72.
  9. It is the 6 week report card grade by law but a school might have a policy that includes the progress report.
  10. Is there a webcast somewhere?
  11. I'm in agreement with balla here. (Yeah, I know.) I actually put little stock in the common opponent thing.
  12. Good luck to all and I hope everyone stays healthy. Fans drive safe!
  13. Sorry had to edit. Saw my source material was wrong.
  14. I thought I'd make a new thread so the other one can get back to a discussion of JASPER and Kirbyville. I am also in a mood to fan flames soooo...fun facts: In the last 30 years (1977-2007) Newton has played Kirbyville 27 times. Over that time Newton has won 24 games, Kirbyville 3 Newton has scored 926 points to Kirbyville's 219 (avg score per game 34.2 - 8.1 ) Kirbyville has been shut out 11 times, Newton none Reflecting on this, I can see why Kirbyville fans inist on counting scrimmages as "wins". (Still not sure how you "win" practice)
  15. No way. This just not something Newton does.
  16. I dunno about the win...I read it somewhere. I would guess it happened sometime before the readily available stats which begin in the late 90s. Then again, what i read may have just been wrong. *shrug*
  17. IMO...WOS either goes the distance or bows out this week. You could make a strong case for the WOS-Giddings game as the "true" 3A div 2 championship game.
  18. That isnt *exactly* true. I believe Barbay's record vs Marlin is 1-4.
  19. Should be a good game I think. This is basically a playoff game in week 10.
  20. Even if you beat Central, you still can not claim Barber's Hill beat the Golden Triangle. Defeating a single team from an area does not equal defeating the entire area. Particularly when the team you beat is not even thought of as the best in that area. P.S. Scrimmages are practice.
  21. Well considering Kirbyville has not beated Newton in..like...20 years (at least 16 I know for a fact)...I'd say the scat does indeed work in the "ville"...at least as long as the Eagles of Newton are the ones running it.
  22. LMAO! Week 9 and this guy is STILL talking about "winning" a preseason scrimmage against Newton. Serious inferiority complex.
