3.
I do wonder at times if the Vidorians will still be on here Week 5-6 developing carpal tunnel after they realize their cupcake non-district schedule was a feeble attempt to just add a couple of marks to the win column instead of an actual reflection on their teams ability to win games. Sure, keep saying you will beat Nederland and take down district. Same things are said over and over every year. Yet.... Same results.
I will be here regardless of season.... Question is if Vidor beats Nederland will it be because they earned it or was it poor officiating... a fluke or some other excuse... Do I think Vidor will walk through 20-4A??? nope... do I think they have a shot at District? yes... will it be easy.... BY NO MEANS...

In 46 years of football Lumberton has went 0-10 or worse 6 times. Lumberton has only had 8 winning seasons in 46 years. 2010, 2007-2008, 94-95, 90-91, 69. Heck we might as well talk about Hardin or West Hardin. lol. Fact of the matter is... Haynes doesn't have to do much to change the culture and be a winner in Lumberton. History says the talent is not there and the district they play in is to much for them. Just saying. Out of the teams listed with new Coaches, Lumberton has the weakest history of success. I wish the Raiders the best, but it is gonna be tough.
Please elaborate on the Worse part.... I thought going 0-10 was as bad as it can get....
In 1967 they went 0-12-1.
HAHAHA well actually you can say they did better that year because the did get half a win.... LMAO!!
Hey now!!!
LOL that wasn't a slam at Lumberton.... that was meaning that 0-12-1 is better then 0-10 because there is a half of a win there....
in 2015 maybe.
I don't know where all this confidence in Vidor is coming from. They're team is like a car with no engine. No Q means a lot less Ws for Vidor!
Keep thinking that kid. They said the same thing after we graduated all 3 of our starting backs in 2012. We all know how that worked out.
Nobody said that. Everyone knew Vidor would be a force with Montana! You must have pirate eye patches on both eyes if you can't see that losing your leading rusher and leading tackler is going to make Vidor less formidable. They won't be the same team as the last couple years. Oh and let's not forget that it took a onside kick and a fake punt for you guys to even beat Ozen last year. Vidor will struggle this year. They can be a playoff team but, it's not a given in any stretch of the imagination!
I just don't understand where you get that Vidor having confidence is a bad thing? aren't you confidence every year of your team? we understand losing Q is a huge lose... can he be replaced by 1 person? probably not... but that doesn't mean that what he done while he was here hasn't made others work harder to be like him and that the confidence hasn't spread to the community that supports the Pirates year in and year out... I think the main thing that Montana did for the Pirates was proof you don't have to be 6'3 260 lbs to be a force... Heart, Hard work and not laying down just because your told your to small, to slow and not strong enough.... his confidence and leadership has bleed throughout Pirate Nation... and I for one think we will do as well as we did last year... your right we won't have all his numbers tagged to just 1 person... but also there was 10 other young men on both sides of the football that helped him out.... and this years team will strive to keep what he has helped build going.... you can down us for being confident... But that will not waver my feeling for the upcoming season... Coming from You Yeoj I would expect more then thinking that loosing 1 man on a team can kill the entire team....
I'm not hating on Vidor or their fandom. But, the fact that one man did so much on both sides of the ball is proof in itself that Vidor won't be the same team as the last couple years. Am I saying that Vidor won't win and make the playoffs, of course not. But, their games will be a lot harder this year and they are in for some serious fights! Being confident is one thing, taking shots like the games are already won is another.
There will be a lot of hard games won and loss this upcoming season just with addition to some good coaching to Central and Ozen... not just Vidor... Central can go from the cellar to the ceiling if they work hard enough and pick up what Coach Foreman and Staff are putting down...
I agree. And I actually think when the dust settles the four playoff teams will be Vidor, Central, Ozen, and the winner of MCM...  That's in no particular order.  :)
I agree with them 2... Nederland and the winner of Livingston/PN-G.... I think Livingston was hurt more with the leaving of Collins then Vidor was with the Exit of Q... PN-G is still another year away from being a front runner like they are use to.... Ozen although they have talent... i believe they were further behind in structure then Central .... LC-M I really don't have a read on.... they showed signs of flash last season... but you never knew what team was going to show up.... and with Sezar gone their ground game took a HUGE hit.... so that will slow down what little passing attack they had going... Lumberton will be all about how much the kids buy into Haynes's program... and if they can get some of the hall talent back on the field...
hardy har har.    Obviously a typo.    But i meant to say they will have a problem against larger Offensive lines.    and lucky for them that they have an offense as athletic and potent as it is, because if they did not this defense would not stay fresh very long.  essentially, if you remove Aaron Sharp and a couple of wideouts...this team is not very good.    Its amazing what a couple of top tier D1 talents will do for your total output.
:-D well i couldn't pass it up.... i mean it just jumped out at me and said HEY LOOK AT THIS!!! :-D ... and it seems from what I read on here there are more holes in the SC program this year than expected.... did some upcoming talent move? or just not filling out like they thought they were?? or is there more rust then expected....

I am sure it will drop some unless he works to keep it low... Good luck to him... its always a pleasure to see young men get opportunities laid in front of them... I hope he can keep his head and not do anything to jeopardize these upcoming offers.. as will all young men sometimes being shined on gives them that feeling of Superman and sometimes they get in trouble that then takes the opportunities away... I wish him all the best and Pray he can keep his head square on his shoulders ...
With all that said.... nothing about Ozen and Keeath Magee ??? there is some talent over there also....
Just an oversight on my part.  Ozen/Magee are definitely in the discussion.  Ozen is in second place in votes on the site from the original post.  Here are the coaches/programs that were originally talked about: Toby Foreman, Central                  Will do great things with Central in the future... will have an above avg year this year... Keeath Magee, Ozen                    Not sure they will have more than a middle of the pack year... but as with Toby can be much better next year... Dwayne DuBois, Hardin-Jefferson  Will surprise some people but not sure they will be top of the pile.... but not far off.... Larry Haynes, Lumberton              Can only go up from last season... I don't think the improvement will be because of the coaching... I think it will lean more                                                                   towards the attitude of the student body, parents, and community towards the coach and his direction.... If there are other 1st year coaches to add to the list, add them.  Maybe some of you stats guys can add the previous records for these programs, but only if we are grading on improvement over last years win/loss record. We might only want to look at improvement in "District" win/loss records.
I think his passion for his hawks is unwavering.... his headbutting isn't with me.... trust me he is dug in like an Alabama mountain tick.... he has good intentions just sometimes comes across the wrong way... I have no beef with Barry... do I agree with everything he says or the way he says it? no... but do I want him banned for expressing his love for his team? no...
Actually he was not the one that got this one off topic, this time.  To the others that keep baiting, stay on topic and if you want to talk to herefortheparty , IM him or start your own thread.
But, he is the one running down a former HC and now calling out one of the former assistants. Rule 18 of setxsports 18 ) The bashing of any particular coach, player, referee, etc will not be tolerated. This includes issues involving their personal lives, coaching/playing style or performance, past experiences, etc.
I just keep reminding myself that Barry is the one dragging his own name through the mud and tarnishing the program he claims to love.  He thinks he's standing up for the kids, truth is, he's just making all of us think less of that program.
All I said was that HJ has kids that were (in my opinion) under-utilized..... Am I not allowed to say that? I didnt ask a certain person to call me out first did I? I was merely saying that HJ has a legitimate shot this year because we have new life! New attitude! New work ethic!!!!!!!!! How is that running down another coach?????? Farmer, the HJ Hawk are going to have a better season that the #2 ranked Silsbee Tigers!!!!!! Comeaux, how many times are you gonna say yo dnt agree with the way I say things on here????? Dont be ashamed for people to know we know each other....... I'm gonna be in Vidor in about 2 hrs..... I love you man!
Because sometimes the things you say.... i don't agree with.... and i have NEVER said anything to even give you one shred of thought that i was ashamed to know you.....  Just because I don't agree with what you say or how you say it, means that I am ashamed of knowing you.. LOL and what you doing in my neck of the woods???

 23.
Lumberton is not without talent and a decent coach should at least pull off mediocrity...i don't really think the powers to be in Lumberton expect anything different because that is really what they hired. I am not bashing anybody here just stating the obvious. LH is a good coach and was able be a middle of the road guy for the most part in Lumberton back in the day. i mean this is like pulling the old security blanket out to ward off the terrible boogieman "dismal record of performance". Nothing against LH...just thought Lumberton missed an opportunity to bring a fresh new bold look to the program followed up by results. Seems powers to be where afraid to step out and take a chance...it could not get any worse from a football standpoint, but instead they took the road already traveled that was pretty well mapped. I know alot of the kids in lumberton and I hope they have tremendous success under their new AD and Head Football Coach...I wish the Raiders Luck and I hope I am wrong.
I thought Haynes was successful the last time he was the L-Train Conductor and left for a more prosperous job??
wow, making a mountain our of a molehill I see.  Whats the matter, miss your chance to scout an opponent? :)
Nope.  I'm a football fan and wanted to see some spring football.  These 4 teams that were listed were available to see.  I just wanted that same option to be available for the 20-4a King's spring game....
I don't know your schedule Soulja, but if the game was held during football period it was in the afternoon.  So could you have made it anyway?
If it was a game that all fans, media, or scouts were aware of, I'm sure that the game would have taken place in the evening.  Just ask your neighbors across the track.  Their spring game last  year also started in the evening.  Of course, everyone knew all about PN-G's spring game...
May be trying to hide how bad they really are :D
:o :o :o  ;D ;D ;D
