Now this is the true form of a coach. It isn't the wins, loses, wrong routes, bad snaps, missed tackles, or any of that. It is caring about the young men/women that you help through life. Life lessons!! Like it or not most coaches give to some kids what they don't get at home. Not saying these 2 young men fall into that category at all. Just that Coach Foreman fits that bill. KUDOS and a big thanks from me to him for being there for these young men! I am Vidor Pirate and don't have a horse in this race. Just good to hear of good news about a coach instead of the usual of bad play calling, poor coaching or anything else a coach goes through on the sidelines. I applaud you Gabe on putting this story out and showing the human side of a coach and not just the disciplinary that goes with being a coach. There are a ton of them out there that have this side but it is never talked about because mom and dad usually only talk about how little johnny is getting the shaft! My hat is off to you Coach Foreman. And to you Coach Hooks for having these type of coaches leading your young men into great young men! GO WO-S GET THAT RING! My question is this... If Coach Burnett is fired and PN-G loses for the next 10 years will you be able to find any of them Burnett Haters? When a new Head coach comes in he will put his own system into effect. Starting all the way down into the Jr. high Level. That means for the most part your Srs that year are sacrificial lambs... With only a couple of months to learn a complete new system and UIL only allowing a certain amount of time to prepare the system will not be in full effect until the end of the 2nd year maybe the start of the 3rd year of his tenure. So you have to ask yourself, Is letting Burnett go really the answer? Or will it only cause more problems and more hard feelings? These are just my views on it. I wish Coach Burnett and PN-G good luck in finding their stride again. You do not know what you have until you don't have it anymore.... The grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence.

Well just from looking at the box score.... and not getting any 1st downs... puts your Defense on a short porch all night... I noticed there weren't any 50,60 or 70 yard runs or passes from WO-S which means they probably were in OFs backyard most of the night... You can not take away from a kid that is 2nd string getting to play on a Friday night... He has to be groomed for next year.. If you put him in and then make it hard for him to make plays your kill his spirit, then when you need him to turn it on its just not there... I would rather have my ARSE kicked up around my ear drums then have a team come out and lay down and not play my team hard... when you ask your team to play down to another team you do nothing but hurt your own team... I can see not throwing the ball deep when you have a big lead... but if your running your 2nd QB and WR who will be your 1st string next year you have to get them some playing time in game time situation so that next year they have an idea of what to expect... I do fell bad for OF and Coach Morrison but when you line up on the football field you don't go out there expecting someone to take it easy on you... that would be more disrespectful in my book than beating them 210-0. Coach Hooks and his staff have to worry about their team and playoffs... they have to be in tune and running on all cylinder so they can make it past the 3rd or 4th round... but laying down, pulling back, or doing anything that disrupts your rhythm this late in the season just wouldn't be acceptable... Just my opinion.

Yep you are correct sir... only losing 7 Srs... we have 3 to 4 good scat backs coming back, a big powerful, agile line... we do loose some very key players on the D side... Tienart on both sides of the ball, as well as Dart, Conn, Theron... not easily replaced, but I think we do have some talent to take the spots. Someone needs to grab Jack and stretch him about a foot or so over the next year so he can see over the Oline next year :-D or maybe Coach Mathews can buy him some platform cleats :-D with disco light on them heheheh and yes I was very proud to go to Livingston and watch a team that had nothing to play for play very hard and never give up... scoring with 21 secs left in the game and making a 2 pt conversion.... if we get the onside we might of made a play or 2 to get a tie and go into overtime.... but we didn't ... Nice catch and throw Tienart to Conn to set up the last TD on the 1 foot line...

I was listening to the game on 97.5 on the way to Livingston and I think I know where Vidor's fumblitus went we when threw it away... it landed in the Da Brook... I only heard the 1st half but sounded to me like the field didn't have very good traction because the announcer was talking about every time someone tried to cut back they would slip and fall. The game was a very hard hitting game. The Lions and Dem Pirates threw down a slobber knocker and the Lions came out on Top. Good luck to all 20-4A Teams in the play-offs!! And btw No one should ever talk about no parking at the Pirate Stadium until you have to try and park around the neighborhood in Livingston.... WOW They park all over... you can tell when you get close to the stadium because Hwy 190 has cars lined up all over it.... all the side streets have cars parked up and down each side and it was heck finding a spot to put ole blue.... If your team brings a large crowd get their early because Livingston's Visitor stands were built for a small 3A or Large 2A crowd... My hat goes off to their Announcer, She did one heck a job.. very enthusiastic and kept her home crowd loud the entire game. She sounds like Reba :-D. Long Drive there and back ... PHEW I am glad they come here next year that is for sure...
