1. I don't believe the hype on Summer Creek and i don't believe sharp has been tested, and more importantly i don't think any team in this district is the clear favorite... i think Crosby is more confident than they have been in quite a few years... the kids have an expectation of winning and i haven't heard a single bad word from a player about Coach Riordan... that NEVER happened with Flan. From the first day Flannigan walked through the door people seemed to have problems with him, good man just rubbed people the wrong way i guess. I always liked him, but theirs one huge transition happening this year.... The basketball players are playing football... all of them. That hasn't happened in a long time, the result is Crosby is more athletic than its been. As for tigers my point is Crosby lossed that game and Vidor won that game... and the difference in score was because both things happened simultaneously.
Which is probably why yall lost to Ozen  ;D
I highly doubt it.....  We'll see if lightning strikes the same place twice. It's also the reason we've been as successful as we have been.
KPK AND OZEN... thats twice mate.
 3. Nederland... well if its exposing them after what dayton just did to them.
 4.
well, let's see...vidor did "handle" Crosby's speed to the tune of a 42-20 victory last season...if that is "not handling" Crosby's speed, then i hope Nederland can't handle it either...keep in mind that Vidor was the 3rd place team in our district and they beat Crosby by 3 TDs...Nederland was the district champs and have 16 of those starters returning Look, I respect Crosby and do think that the Dogs will have their hands full with those twins...they are very talented and will pose problems for anyone...just don't act like they are unbeatable because the facts state that they were 6-5 last year, meaning that 5 teams got the best of them last year...no one is unbeatable, you are better served to respect all of your opponents... As for Nederland's defense, you are right...they are terrible...Crosby will likely hang 70 points  ;)
Love revisionist history mate. I love how we don't look at the fact that ball positioning, special teams, and turnovers helped Vidor tremendously in that game. They scored 48 points on 306 yards of offense... all rushing offense. 3 Crosby players ran the football all 3 had better yards per run averages than any player on Vidor. The thing that lost Crosby the game, was defense, not offense 2 turnovers don't help but the defense played horribly and vidor was smart... the play was run away from caldicut every play and once Hernandez went down... no one could stop the FB on third down. Was a poor showing by that defense, and a pretty strong showing given the circumstance by the offense, for crosby to have won that game our offense would have had to score literally every time they had the ball, that's how little possession we had of the ball.  The coaching staff of vidor new they weren't fast and had trouble with speed so they did what slow teams do, take the air out the ball... in there case they literally flattened the ball and just handed it off every play because it was working. Vidor was the better team because Crosby clearly had a much worse defense.
 5.

scdawgs didnt take long to get to the +400 post mark... i wonder how many post he'll have after sc  does the new school death sweep? 0-3 to BH DAYTON CROSBY have a good year hope fourth suits you well... domination i say domination!
When you have a team talented as ours its hard to keep quiet.
You'll find all of the teams in these discussions are very talented. BH is returning the player of the year in district play, has a solid pass defense and but the fact that they can't beat a certain set of teams, had a stellar season last year. Dayton went the furthest of any team in either districts in playoffs, they will be very good this year, and they have a ton of talent. Crosby of the 4 teams has the best backfield of any of the 4 and is very easily the MOST EXPLOSIVE (not necessarily better or worse) of any of the teams. SC has a good QB good receivers and an ok defense. the reason i say ok is the defense hasn't gone through a truly difficult season yet. Dayton has been good in 2 districts with 2 sets of very difficult opponents. Losses to Willis and Magnolia west aren't bad losses but how much better of losses are they than Barbers Hill losing to the two fastest teams they played, seems like they had a bit of bad luck, they get matched up against another smash mouth team they probably would have beat them. They did beat Nederland the opposing district champ 13-10. Yet Crosby beat them, and Dayton beat Crosby... because in 19-4a coaching will matter a lot, so hope your coaches and our (new staff) are up to the challenge of coaching in a great district and we will see you on the field..... p.s. no one has a tougher first 5 games than Crosby if we make it out of that 3-2 we are doing fantastic. wow.... Nederland/Willis/Dayton/bh/SC

 8.
So for HSsportsfanatic55 what you said about the defence seems a little off to me. When i played for the 2010 offense going against that defense everyday was outrageous. Also hearing from other teams saying that our defense was one the toughest teams they have ever gone against, also i believe they were ranked very high in the state rankings as a defense. So i would love to hear more info on that?
no offense redman but the defense this year is more athletic an stronger than any defense we've had in a while. i think they are better than 2010's defense in sheer athleticism and speed, however that doesn't mean they will be better, only time will tell that 2010's defense was very good but it also benefited heavily from being on the field far less than other defenses. The defense is dominating the offense in practice from what i'm hearing. (thats not easy to do given the talent on the offense.)
 9.
Crosby doesnt see 20 points. Ned- 24 Crosby- 17
I agree on the Crosby not seeing 20... but i don't think Nederland sees 15. 16 Crosby (I'm predict going for 2 on 2 TD's =-)) 14 Nederland
 10.
I can say Nederland has not had a very good track record with either  Dayton or Crosby. I do know the twin are good athletes but are they as good as Jakobi Jones and Tre Green who had a abig offensive line in front of them last year. From what I have seen  and heard Crosby o line is a little  smaller then normal which may be a problem, but good technique goes along way. As for the Dayton game it will be a tough fight with the lines going at it. A good learning game for both teams.
The answer to your question is yes.
 11. I'm telling you guys this Crosby Defense looks good. Don't be surprised if this turns into an early season low scoring slugfest.
 12.
Crosby's o-line probably averages 215 this year. They have some tall and lanky kids at OT and they are probably a little more athletic than year's past but I think OL is the big weak spot of this team. They aren't going to pound anyone that's for sure. The defense is going to be really athletic and may surprise some people.
So a HS spread offense =-). I'm excited about the 3 walters how bought u cap.
 13. If crosby is running anything similar to what i've seen ss run then the lines not going to be a problem because the offense plays in space. If anyone remembers how Dayton beat Crosby last year, that's the type of offense crosby is probably running this year. Very screen/fake screen heavy, with a solid running threat from good edge blocking, or at least thats how ss beat everyone. I think the twins will thrive in this system... esp Aston who will get a chance to complete a high percentage of passes and be put in good situations to be in. AS per people who haven't seen these kids play, they are by far the best athletes Crosby has had in years. Perhaps since the 04 team (i think thats the one) Absolutely pure athletes and Austin is an all downs all purpose back, was a little small last year, those kids are rocks this yeah absolutely built. Prediction is being saved till after Friday's practice.
 14. I love how Vidor has one good year. And every hillbilly comes out of the woodworks lol.
 15.
Saw that earlier today.. What constitutes eliteness (yeah yeah I know that's not really a word) Juan Coranco from Dayton I thought for sure would have been on there..  :-\
The last kicker i saw on one of these list had a net punting average of about 55 yards, and was near perfect with a 48 yard field goal to his name. (that was a nationwide list btw)
 16. Creek if the game is "a Close one" and your playing at the reservation... your going to lose... remember you gotta beat the indians by 35 to win a game at the reservation with those Beaumont Refs.
 17. Raffle is on the June 6th right before the livestock auction at Crosby Fairgrounds. Also shamelessly, please bump the crap out of this thread and make sure everyone sees it. (or can we get it stickied until June 6)

 19.
Alto And San Augustine cant hold a candle to any of the Top teams in SETX (WO-S, Westbrook, PA memorial, Nederland,) and they shouldnt be able to by all accounts but to be the best in the area you have to be able to say you can go to every teams district and compete with everyteam.
k then by your determination Westbrook is the best team is SETX because no one has the athletes to deal with westbrook is SETX. No 3/4a team could handle West Brook but that's because of sheer size. I think this is more about which team do you think will do the best in general vs there competition.
 20. so.... what is the page record for preseason banter? because 70 with 100+ days to go is pretty impressive.
 21.

people are sleeping on Crosby again watch out.
again? what was that 1st round playoff score last year? ummm 42-20 Vidor over Crosby. and now Crosby will be under a new HC.
No remember last year we "weren't going to make the playoffs" because merka left. *rollseyes*
 22.
I'm not from 19-4A  and don't know all the teams as well as some and especially the new ones from 18-4A. So, i watched some films yesterday of some particular games of interest and based on defenseive and offensive shemes compared to like opponents, this is my opinion as of now. it is subject to change after the season begins and players not revealed come to light. 1)Dayton 2)Summer Creek 3)Kingwood Park t-4)Barbers Hill/Crosby
bud half the head coaches in the district are new.... so how are you comparing tape? and systems. Did you pull out so SS tape for Crosby because Crosby won't run the same offense they've been running. Humble has a new HC/AD, Dayton is in year 2 of there new coach. BH is what year 2/3?
 23. anyone else think its wierd that Crosby plays better at BH then at Crosby?
 24. congrats to everyone on the list but golly you left some kids that deserve to be on those teams off it for some small school kids that i'm sure are great but i just don't see it.
