1. past 2 years cougs have been 0-3 going into districts both years its been the same schedule Mont/PNG/Dawson i believe its been 3 years now with the same schedule, we are tested that's for sure, and we know our weaknesses and our strengths.

 3. It don't matter if BH wins... Dayton will have an excuse... it'll sound girly too, like it's wet outside... you expect us to play in the rain? I'll say the way to beat dayton is to punch them in the mouth, thats how they get beat in playoffs every year, if you can consistently hit dayton, and hard you an beat them. It's 100% about defense against Dayton, because their defense is only gonna give up 28 on a bad day. If BH holds onto the football and can get some kick returns to setup decent yardage scores, they could upset the broncos.
 4.
We have never been known for our dirty play, except for the barely late hit on Ned qb last week. We also are very disciplined and don't receive many penalties due to good coaching. However, there is some bad blood brewing between us and Dayton and I wouldn't put anything past our agressive defense next week. I just hope we don't get anybody thrown out of the game. Snap your chin straps tight big D because our defense is gonna bring it.
I'd say your reputation is a little different. but it's whatever. not a dirty team, but scrappy without compassion comes to mind.
 5. I dont care how good vidors run game is if the dog's do what they did to BH then i'll take the doggys.
 6. funny... hold on let me make a post about png that is at all negative i'll catch up.
 7. 7:00 IF its a close game 45miles or less. and 7:30 if its an hour + drive.

With a one point difference that is.  :o  ::)
It's just like most polls it's opinion, based on a combination of previous wins and losses, [s]strength of schedule[/s], team reputation, team respect, and of course there's some bias in there too. I'm not sure who all votes but it just a poll. Are maybe they just they have Jethro Bodeen do some sife-ren........ ;D
Or else you can't explain Central/WOS in these polls. If i'm bridge city or jasper i'm asking what the hell is going on? If im Liberty i'm asking what people are smoking? what does it take to get respect? 3-0 40 on the board each game and 2 shut outs a total on 7 points in 3 games. including 49-0 over hardin. Also the ase for Crosby over those two teams is easy to make. we beat #9 in the poll and lost to two of the best teams in all of 4a. One that pounded spring (big time 5a team) and the other is walking over everyone they face (including five a teams). These rankings are getting as bad as DCTF.
 9.
Cougtalk, our first team defense has only given up 2 TD's all year.  I think we'll be ok.  We're use to the post season.  Besides, we've almost put up 40 a game.
more like 66 against one team. I think you might be surprised. I think Montgomery might challenge you more this year than in the past, perhaps even beating you. I think more teams will put up good ground numbers like Lamar on the ground.

 13.
I do think BH is going to contend in district this year. It's going to be wild between Dayton, BH, and Crosby. 19-4A might go 3-1 in the first round this year. Props for BH, and I think the Hill is for real this year!
WOW respect from an ndn?
 14. Honestly i don't see much to like about Eisenhower. They don't seem to be that good this season, thier one win is by 1 over a team that's 1-2, that win coming against atascocita. Dayton should win this game. fyi Angleton is the best opponent Dayton will face in their pre-district play.
 15. Dawson got snubbed. They are better than manvel at the very least.
 16.

I think the pollsters need to head east of the trinity. for a couple games this week. It's funny at the beginning of the season i say Crosby plays Montgomery/png/dawson everyone says they lose bye 21 per. But... 2 of those teams have been in the 3rd round of the playoffs 2-3 years in a row! STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE sheesh.
Before you knock the breath out of yourself by hitting yourself on the chest let me make a few comments.  First of all, you did lose by 21 to MONT and only beat a PNG team that we know nothing about at this point by one point.  PNG has only played a very very weak GP team and Crosby.  Since you did lose by 21 to MONT is it possible that people were actually wrong about PNG but not about Crosby??  Well see against Dawson I guess!  Id also be willing to be that if this poll was generated from a site that actually was located around Crosby and main the coverage was 19 4A then half the schools wouldnt even be on this list.  Liberty would probably be in the top 5 and Dayton would have a permanant #1 burnt into the server.  I think this site does a pretty good job of including 19 4a and covering a large area west of the Trinity.  Maybe some people should just be happy their name is on the list!
Actually i think that the bias of this poll is indicated through its no actual use of the full area, most the pollsters being the Beaumont and surrounding areas. Regardless of your statements i'll take a 21 point loss to a 4 deep team vs a 35 point against a one and done or non playoff opponent. The fact that the Cougs scored consistently on Both Dawson/Montgomery is something to be said. Also the Texas City win for PNG helps the cougs case as well. Cougs have lost to 2 3-0 teams, and beat a 2-1 team. lets look at the record Montgomery beat Crosby 49-28 beat Spring @ Spring 42-13 and Jones 72-6 Dawson beat 5a Clear Springs 34-14 beat 5a Oak Ridge 52-20 beat Crosby 56-26 PNG 42-0 vs GP 30-29 loss crosby 41-27 win vs Texas City. Crosby's Defense needs work but so does everyone's when you play Montgomery and Dawson. The cougs have scored the most points this season on both Dawson and Montgomery 2 teams that look destined for deep playoff runs. And beat a quality PNG squad. Also both losses where on the road, with a young team. Anyone who says the cougs aren't a top 10 squad, come watch them 1x and your mind will be changed. Also Ryrex no clue what i did to make you crawl out of your hole, but while your out come watch the cougs play.
 17. Katy by a ton they are a power run team. Thier offensively line will dominate and thier backs will get yards and that defense is vaunted. 45-7/3

All that does is flaunt ignorance. If Nederland only puts up 14 against BH then I will move on to something else. NO WAY BH has the caliber of defense as WOS.. Again I say.. 38 points"" In regards to the late hit by #32.  I saw the play live, saw the replay, saw it on film and then read YALL'S local newspaper article on the game.  Ned's QB was ONE STEP out of bounds (even says it in the paper)...#32 was coming full speed.  It was a late hit, it was a personal foul and it cost us 15 yards and a starting safety.  Not only that but it helped lead to yall's only TD drive.  I am in NO WAY trying to take anything away from Nederland's players or coaches.  They played their hearts out and kept trading hits in the mouth all night. But you have to get off of this as being a "classless" or "intentional" cheap shot to take out a QB. It's absolutely ridiculous.  Please take your own advice and move on to something else.  The Dog's defense stuffed us pretty much all night and held us to only 2 TDs.  The Eagle's returned the favor and held the Dog's below your "38" AND "14" predicted points output. So move on to something else and yall go handle business with Vidor next week. I wouldn't have even responded to this if you would've said "Yall should've won" or "It was terrible officiating" but you are attacking the character of a quality young man that doesn't deserve it.  He's a "yes sir, no sir" type of kid and you are flat wrong.  Good luck with Vidor next week...yall should come out on top.  I'm done with this topic and you should be too.
Mr. Blitz if you believe everything you read in the paper then you will lead a rough life. I have been to that stadium since the '60s and there is no way that bench is anywhere close to a foot out of bounds! Unless you were sitting on the Nederland side then it would have been real tough for you to see the play because there were to many players in the way. As far as the video goes they don't tell all the facts because they are never at the right angle! Last but not least, how would you feel if it were your QB? I am sure you guys would be throwing a party for the opposing team right! And you are correct in one thing, it's over and you can't go back and change anything, if the officiating is bad don't use that group again and move on!
Trust me Dawgnut....I don't always believe the newspapers, especially those liberal ones!  :D  The reason I referenced it in there is because the hometown paper generally leans in favor of the home team.  I agree, the bench is no where near a foot out of bounds but when a LB is going full speed and hits a QB from the side...the QB is going to land a lot further away than one foot.  The video angle I saw was from the endzone about 20 feet off the ground...trust me, there was nothing in the way and it was a great angle.  QB was one step out of bounds, period.  I completely understand yall being upset, as any team would be...especially with him being injured.  I have no problem with that, my issue is with some of the folks on here (especially GoDogs27) attacking a young man's character when it is completely false and unwarranted.  His ridiculous and ignorant response to my previous post doesn't even deserve a reply.  Let's just all be thankful that the majority of us on here don't share his distorted view ("as far as he's concerned").  Dawgnut, yall have a HELL of a team and will be tough to beat the rest of the year.  Best of luck to yall.
Someone cut the film post it on youtube.

The rest of the WR are out there blocking and running decoy routes. It kills the kids from learning the game too. The spread is nothing more then a Run N Shoot or the Fun N Gun as Steve Spurrier called it back in his days at Florida. Crosby Cougars talking about they have 600 yards rushing on the season. How many of those yards came last night vs. Dawson ?
260 of them. o and its 761 yard rushing this year through three games. last 2 games have accounted for most of them. Watch the spread attack when its ran in fast pace, it will wear out a defense in 5 plays everyone running to a line, that takes tremendous stamina. I think this is a "i miss the old days" moment and is an illusion. Not likeing the offense because you feel the passing ability in highschool is not good enough to run it correctly or you don't like side schemes in the running game, or whatever is something different. This is just a whining session that is "i wish it was 20-30 years ago, nothing less.
I agree Coug, you want life in the 80's, find a time machine...
What do you mean Gas??? It was the 70's. LOL!!!!!! Also by us having jobs during the summer it taught us the value of a dollar and responsibility along with hard work. I would venture to say that if more kids would have a job at a young age. This world would be in better shape instead of being spoiled and lazy. You don't see many kids from the 70's or 80's still mooching off their parents or their parents raising their kids. I would say yes we need a time machine to bring back morals and respectablity to this country.
::) Yes lets all go back to the 60s and 70s when we had "morals". When we had a president killed, draft dodgers galore, "peace" activist who blew up things, hippies running wild, watergate, a gas shortage, a president who couldn't save some hostages in iran, and smasmouth football. ahh the good old days. Atleast some of us were reponsible for our own actions.  Yes, they was the good ole days when kids played outside, neighborhood football, basketball and baseball games. We was not in the AC playing X-Box eating twinkie's or ding dongs while drinking a coke or should I say entergy drink.
underlined things are because of the 80's, and the strikethroughs happened in the 80's as well or are simply statistically false. "The unemployment rate continued to rise to a peak of 10.8% by late 1982, but dropped well under 6% unemployment at the end of Reagan's presidency in January 1989.[60] of the Reagan Administration often point to the fact that the gap between those in the upper socioeconomic levels and those in the lower socioeconomic levels increased during Reagan's presidency; they also note that the federal debt spawned by his policies tripled (from $930 billion in 1981 to $2.6 trillion in 1988), reaching record levels.[61] Though debt almost always increased under every president in the latter half of the 20th century, it declined as a percentage of GDP under all Presidents after 1950 and prior to Reagan. In addition to the fiscal deficits, the U.S. started to have large trade deficits. Also it was during his second term that the Tax Reform Act of 1986 was passed." [Hidden Content] Sound pretty much like today... just different economic system. and we are in year 3 not year 8. but i dunno. I would also like to know why me playing xbox and eating (not twinkies or ding dongs what is this the 80's?) and drinking my ENERGY drink although i'm interested in what an entergy drink is.
