1.

Tough loss last night, crosby had some good speed out there in there QB and running backs. Poor tackling by our defense and poor linebacker play is our downfall. We didn't really put any pressure on them in the backfield and 350 yards later it showed we need some more practice. Bothh teams played their hearts out but I think I would like to see that matchup again in the playoffs providing we both make it. I expected a lot of people got a rude awakening when they saw png's defense get shredded up last night.  People predicting that lopp sided score must have swallowed to much grape koolaid out there in that heat. We have a lot of things we need to improve on, thanks for Crosby exposes some weaknesses in our armour and bringing some of these people back to earth. I don't know what is in store for the indians but we do have room for improvement no doubt. Couldn't have asked for a more exciting game to watch especially in the fourth quarter, can't remeber the last time we ran back a kickoff, who would of thunk it? Ready for next weeks home game can't wait to see chapter 3!
First off does anybody realize we have a back that rushed for 2000 yards last year. I completely understand the QB Miller running in the Offense this year its an added weapon but our horse needs more touches period. 12 CARRIES LAST GAME AND 9 THE WEEK BEFORE ISNT GOING TO CUT IT. Anybody who knows football knows if you can run the ball you control the game period. But our problem is on the other side of the ball we are too small everywhere and our Defense got wore out the other nite and the result is arm tackling that results in missed tackles which in turns becomes huges plays. Our DC needs to take some blitz opprotunitys when we have the chance to, to get our Def off the field faster. I have been to both games and we havent blitzed 1 time nor do we even get in a goaline package inside the 10 yardline. I like the fact our staff tries not to play kids both ways but this year we dont have the size on defense and we may need to look at playing some lineman both ways and a couple of the skill posistion kids as well to help out the Def. This team has a chance to be special i just hope our staff makes the changes that is needed to get them there.
what on earth are they blitzing? the Running game full of options? If you blitz and option offense you lose period. The cougars throw a ton of Bubble screens... and on 2 of them they went 20+ because of outside linebackers BLITZING. I've seen 1 PNG game and they blitz on passing downs, guess what... weren't very many of those as the cougs where getting 3-6 yards every run. Also will point out, the 80 yard run by our back had a corner on the WRONG SIDE OF THE FIELD blitzing. As for 12 Carries for Bertrand, he wasn't very effective in those carries the line is simply not as good as the GREAT line he had last year, the QB was the only one consistently moving the ball. Faircloth and his staff understand football. You apparently do not.
 2. A Satire. Not taking a side on this one, but. #2 and #3 team in 19-4a just beat 2 teams from 20-4a so 2-0 so far this year. "As for depth of the districts, it has to go to 20-4A.  There is only one team in 20-4A that I feel that doesn't have a realistic chance at making the playoffs without saying their name" New question (not saying this but playing devils advocate). Is a district where its top teams are stronger and thus distance themselves from the rest actually weaker than a division that's clustered? I'm sure Dayton would take on anyone in 20-4a with confidence, I like the Cougs matchups against 20-4a (i see 20-4a as bigger teams with athletes but that play from their size on defense, and i'll take a quick offense over a big defense any day), BH's option offense can be very hard to stop. All three of these teams i feel like WOULD win against their 20-4a opponent. There is a discussion of the 2-2 records, but when you have a GP team or a GCM team with new systems good coaches but DEVELOPMENT teams, losing to the #1 team in the 20-4a district... i mean honestly don't you sigh in relief u don't have to play Dayton every year? It's not exactly easy playing God's favorite team every year with Jesus Christ roaming the sidelines, i mean thankful he decided to hang it up for a while.
 3.

PNG defense sounds soft tonight. They better tighten up!!!
First of all, I dont understand why everyone thought Crosby was going to be easy. After I saw the scout film on them I knew it would be very tough. They are as big, fast and athletic as Memorial. Crosby has some serious players but from what I understand they are young. Our team may have been a little over confident but the fact is their speed and quickness was hard for us to handle. The QB and RB were very quick. As far as our defense being soft, our defense is not soft. Those kids played their hearts out, they did the best they could. Yes they do need to work on tackling and I'm sure they will. Our kids on both sides of the ball had no quit in them, it just didn't go our way. These kids have heart and that's a very important factor as to what kind of team we have. We will be fine, we are in a very tough district and were going to have to fight for every win. As far as seeing that kind of speed and quickness, we will see it again in district there are a few teams with that kind of speed. Good Luck Indians and keep grinding....
Great post. I will point one thing out, from where im sitting its not tackling its bad angles, everyone was taking wide angles to the backs which makes it very easy to make a strong cut and wooof ur behind the back. The backs weren't breaking tackles they moved some piles, but i really don't think that many tackles where broken, more clean misses, or expect the back to take it out wide, then he cut back. Don't be hard on the kids they had to be the FIRST to see those twins in action (settled in unlike against montgomery i think they grew up in that second half just a bit) Maybe this loss will be a good thing for PNG going forward like i think our loss to montgomery was for us. Dawson will be a good preview (defensively) of an active and energetic team with a ton of talent on that side of the ball, hoping to see us put some points on the board against them.
 4.

well those seem interesting. i might take dawson over brenham. after tonight.
Lol.  I might not...    ;) Brenham will be tested next Friday for sure though!
Brenham i believe is better coached but Dawson seems to be just absolutely stacked with talent, its honestly ridiculous.
 5. well those seem interesting. i might take dawson over brenham. after tonight.
 6.

You say PNG wasn't soft and then ya'll turn around and say that you ran it down the NDNS throat. Last week ya'll got blown out by Montgomery. I will give some credit to Crosby for playing hard, but I do think PNG D is played soft as well from what I heard on the radio. PNG couldn't stop Crosby in the second half.
PN-G is physical, but Crosby was more physical. 360+ yards on 50 carries qualifies for running it down anyone's throat.
I don't disagree with you, but if a defense gives up 360 yards on the ground then I say thier soft period. If Crosby was so stout then why couldn't they hang last week with a good team like Montgomery. I said tonight was a combination of Crosby playing good and PNG D being soft. Congrats on the win.
1 word. Turnovers. 3 in a row followed by 3 straight td's and anyone gets buried. If your fascinated with calling UR defense soft, by all means go ahead. I know the Cougs where putting hats on hats and ran the ball well. Just enough passes to force PNG to not stack the box with 9.
 7.
You are wrong. It is the correct call because you force the other team to convert a kick.
Also Crosby's kicker is very slow to the ball for his PAT's im sure that's in the scouting report.
 8.
IMO, this is on the coaching staff!  what the heck were they thinking?  Last year they don't take a fairly easy FG and they lose to GP by 1.  This year, late in the 4th, they kick the PAT to go up by 6, instead of going for 2, which would have put PNG up 7. (up 5 if they didn't get it...  Which is just as good as 6) Result.... Another 1 point loss!  SMH.....  Let the negative karma rip, but that needed to be said....
Honestly probably wouldn't have changed anything the cougs were clearly in fg territory at the end of the game. I don't think it would have mattered at all. but its questionable.
 9.
Looks like we all over shot the point differential in this one.
I'd Say. Fyi i called a 1 point game. go look.
 10.
Wow, what a game. Crosby had the momentum. PNG D sounded soft. Can't stop Crosby on several 4th down plays and then let Crosby break a long TD towards the end. NDNS will need to find some D before District. Congrats Coogs on the win.
The defense was playing ok but Crosby's line was stout tonight and the RECEIVERS WERE BLOCKING! not to mention that last td run had a HUGE block my the QB Aston Walker. This was 2 offenses controlling the game through the run, don't call ur kids soft it wasn't that they played their tails off people need to face the facts i believe i'll quote myself "Crosby has the talent to play with anyone" they're just very young, but that youth today seemed to be explosive and made veteran plays, the Walker twins are very intelligent kids and they are lightning quick. But it was the defense that won this game 2 HUGE stops late one to get the ball back after a field goal and the other to win the game. The special teams had 1 mistake and they ndn's made them pay for it. Great game, but it was 2 evenly matched teams slugging it out and the cougs defense showed heart.
 11. at the request of PNG games start time has been moved to 7:30 PM
 12.
They could have gotten a QB or WR to hold a ball I would think. Can't tell me a 4A school doesn't have a backup holder.
yeah then if all this is true the COACHING staff failed the team because there should always be a reliable backup holder (even on a 2-3 a school let alone a 4 a school) Have your backup qb be second string just in case, he aint getting on the field anyways.
 13.
Doty=Oregon, Merka=TCU...both went to great colleges. Otherwise, you will see a full head of steam INDIANS in your path tonight with a will to fight for a win. I think we had a weak opponent last week, but we showed what needed work. I don't think we are going to take the cougars light tonight. You will see the strong Indians tonight!!! Good luck to the INDIANS!!!! 49 to 13 INDIANS
didnt know that congrats to him then.
 14. hay.... we got a vote? really? awesome! lmao. I predict the cougs will be squarely in the top 10 by years end.
 15. gl brenham ill be listening, while watching college football of course.
 16. all im saying is if the cougars keep it inside of 20 pts you get a "failed" prediction...
 17.
Well I can honestly say I watched the most pathetic display of high school football last week.. I love my ndns but GP couldn't have beaten any 8 th grade team in the state. They were horrible in every aspect of the game. They did pick off a pass and recovered a fumble, but other than that I can't even describe what I watched. But with that being said, nelson was standout no doubt, miller played lights out, only made a couple of oh ohs the whole night. Bertrand had an ok night couple of penalties hurt his yardage a little. Kicker displayed a big foot finally, and the defense put up a shutout. That will probably be the easiest win png has all year. I will understand a little more after tommorrow night in crosby. I hope we keep the momentum up and the intensity. Should be a interesting game, not gonna take Crosby lightly, even though they lost that great D-1 QB WHO I wasn't impressed with at all, if he was D-1 the Doty was all pro lol, sorry just sayin. Would make my day to see another shut out! But I will be happy with win!
Merka wasn't a d1 qb he was however a d1 athlete and as such went to tcu. 6'5 4.5 forty = d1 and he had good skills, he can run the ball (he can catch as well) and he an throw the ball decent, but those numbers above are why he was D1 and the fact that he went 3 deep in the playoffs his junior year didn't hurt. As for Doty he's a good player a bit undersized and not as fast as some of the top end Rb's which is why he didn't receive as much interest good kid good player hope the best for him. Gl and hope the best for all the ndns and coug players tommorrow night
 18.
I have PNG leading the series 8-1. 1989 PNG  41  Crosby  21 2000 PNG    7  Crosby    0 2001 PNG  42  Crosby    7 2003 PNG  45  Crosby    7 2006 PNG  21  Crosby  14 2007 PNG    0  Crosby    7 2008 PNG  28  Crosby  27 2009 PNG  37  Crosby    7 2010 PNG  38  Crosby    7
good info thanks for it. i knew it han't been 3 30+ in a row. PNG has had our number no question, but simply put if ba dreams involving purple are happening it has nothing to do with Indians. except for 09 the broncos games ahve been far worse than these. Honestly i look at rivalries within tenures when i do analysis, for example bh beating dayton in 1961 don't mean a whole lot. 1-4 in the past 5 seasons, maybe it's time for a cougar win. I don't know should be a decent game and as always if the youngsters at Crosby hold on to the football then Crosby will keep it competitive. I also think people don't understand the amount of talent this Crosby team has, experience not that much but sheer talent they can play with anyone in the region. It would be nice to see them show that talent this week. I expect the offense to click this week and the defense to be slightly offended by the calls for 50 by halftime, i think the cougs play well.
 19.
Thats what ya said last year brenham fan...... talked and talked and talked about how dayton didn't stand a chance against brenham, brenham this, brenham that, brenham home after 1st playoff game.... just sayen
Brenham is the least crap talking person on this site, he loves his team and believes they will win, and they do quite often, leave him alone pick a fight with bhfan or one of the million others who actually do things to make people angry. Brenhamfan has always an will always be a class act. And i've never seen the words Dayton doesn't stand a chance on a single post Brenhamfan has posted. I'll jump on you if u mess with a reasonible poster! boom.  8)
 20.
Crosby has nightmare about purple and white, LMAO
If that where true and it isn't it wouldn't have anything to do with indians.
 21. Montgomery by 14... just cuz i think they're better than we think.
 22. Sheesh... judge not lest yee be judged. Well we will see PNG by 20? I think the PNG defense better get some foot work drills in this week, i hear the crosby rb/qb are quick as a whistle and have a low center of gravity (nice word for small and short.) But i know these kids are confident, i think they might keep this one closer than expected. Whatever the case the Cougars season won't be as bad as many seem to believe. Score? well lets keep optimism a fly cougars 42-41 on a missed xp.
 23. Sorry wasn't there, how was the defense was it turnovers or did they control the los? .
