I will, his initial statement was we are going to be fast and physical in his written introduction too. Crosby being fast and physical is exactly how we will compete in larger classifications.

TBF to Crosby's defense you did have a professional runningback playing QB for you... he did very little QBing that game...

One of my biggest request was a coach that emphasized defense because when Coach P did we were very very good. I think it's the biggest slight on the Rio regime was that we didn't play defense... that PNG-Crosby game still haunts me.

Three years into his coaching reign and you don't give him credit for those schemes? Seems like your looking for reasons to discredit the guy. You don't seem to be that guy from my interactions with you so is the beef legitimately you just preferred Hurts?

I get it but I also am not going to blast the new coach because of the admins decision. I'm hoping he turns out to be high quality and brings something to the program that helps make us contenders. His son not playing on a bad team his Freshman year might be because the coach knew how bad the team was. Hopefully his son is a good QB and solves that issue for the next three years, if he's not then maybe we get a Branch situation in the near future. One thing I will say is the motions that they did at Cedar Park were the talk of Coaching for several years about how they opened up and exploited defenses with their personnel. I'm hoping we get CP Willis not Tyler Willis because the talent at Crosby is going to be way closer to CP than Tyler. I remember vividly coaches going up to CP for camps to learn those motion offenses. Also, possibly the most talented team in Crosby's history got absolutely obliterated by a Willis Coached team in 2014.

One thing that makes some sense is his son is a Sophomore QB for Tyler Legacy... so your bringing in the coaches son at QB quite possibly as well. I think his retirement was a façade to find a better program for his kids to play for. Just speculation ofc.

Yikes, seems someone's not happy. Getting a coach with a ship and another title appearance doesn't seem like the worst hire to me. He did just retire from Tyler Legacy but I question how much of that was not liking to lose. He was very successful at CP and heard very good things from friends up in Colleyville about him. And what if he is a couple year stand in? If he does a good job in those years and steps away you get your pick of the crop instead of the pick of the surplus that we had this year.

31 years of coaching if he started at a normal age he'd be in his 50's.

When we were finalist before there wasn't a state title game so technically still true.

Assuming we don't lose a whole lot the word seems to be we should be competitive.

Let's see who the coach is... and how summer/preseason goes.

It seems like the job is a state wide talked about opening from friends I've been talking to. It's bad timing but also good timing in the sense that someone(s) got overlooked in the initial coaching hiring and there is a smart hungry guy out there whos looking at an OC/DC job next year that really deserves their own program. There are also HC not AD's out there that are reportedly looking and applying for the job. I think it's an easier job to sale than most places given you know they have the talent to make the big run in playoffs. We just need a coach that's going to take care of the defensive side of the ball as well (like Prieto.) because you don't just outscore people in 5AD1.

I believe Crosby has traditionally done 7 on 7, doesn't that trade off with spring practices?

I remember people saying stuff like he was a "Supersintendent hire" just like there gonna say about whoever comes in this years.

What is going on back home?

I think all four will rebound but I think DR has the talent to be unstoppable most years.

I think 5AD2 is pretty weak on our side of the state right now. I'd take FB Marshall or PNG to put that district back in the state title game.

According to max preps your losing 7 seniors on defense that played at least 9 games for the team this year. Seems your best three defensive players are returning tho. Guess we will see. Also, Losing your top running back. Should BH be better than Crosby next year? On paper given this season yea. Will they? I don't have that faith in the ant mound but I'm sure you do. I think Crosby will get quite a bit better defensively. The big question is what wide outs will we have given the number of seniors we just lost.

8-5A D1 PAM Crosby BH La Porte The Crosby BH game the last two years has come down to the final play of game to decide it. Crosby tying then winning 2 years ago, Crosby losing by going for 2 this year. I think Crosby turns those fortunes around this year. Kade Eudy got some very big snaps this year as a Junior and has a full offseason for the offense to focus on him. He has a sweet arm and we will see what the coaches develop around him. I expect Crosby might again be pretty young next year with several sophomores making varsity and playing meaningful minutes. Most the O and D Line are back and hopefully the strength and conditioning coach just has permeant video in the weight room of them being manhandled by King, BH, KWP, and Longview. I think some of the linemen at Crosby rested on their laurels last year and it showed up big time on film. Crosby is successful next year if those young men build their bodies this off season and really focus on becoming 5AD1 linemen. In this classification you cannot be undersized, and understrengthen and expect to scheme your way out of games. It all starts in the weight room. PAM should be the clear favorite, 3 deep playoff run, only lost to the State Semifinalist and it seems that State Semifinals was the real state championship game given the butt whooping Aledo brought out in the championship game. Crosby tends to reload skill positions and I'm hopeful they will do that. We do return our top two running backs but lose our top 4 receiving threats. Defensively we know what we have in the middle of the field and that kid looks like he wants it just as bad as any player I've seen. When you say he's the heart and soul of the defense you're not exaggerating it felt like 80% of the big plays made by the defense this year were him. (MINUS some great safety work.) No reason to be down on the Cougars next year. I think this district is all about the top two because otherwise you get Lancaster or Longview in the first round and no one wants to play those teams round one. PAM has a tendency to PAM a game away each year I think this year that would be a huge problem if it happened against Crosby or BH.
