Good for the Cougs got the Monkey off the back. 39-27 isn't a bad score. Crosby scored 27 unanswered points? not bad maybe they can get some confidence from this game as we move forward. Dayton keep the talk to a min you beat BH lets not forget.

BH needs to play a mistake free ball game and get some help from the Broncos to win this game. i think they can do that. 20-14 BH Eagles because of multiple fumbles by the Broncos (including couple in the red zones).

interesting Article i smell a wrinkle coming. =P. Flannigan likes to change things up last pre-district game, broncos game, and first game of playoffs. The defense was notably better. if the cougs can play defense like they did in the first half against Montgomery or PNG or second half against Dawson and put that together this could end in a shut out. I could see the cougs getting up by 14-21 and just sitting on the football for the rest of the game. They definitely have that capability.

Youll notice Zane tends to lean to the strong side and the others are in coverage a lot. Works well against Screen offenses and shotgun runs but not so well against Power I attacks (Dawson, Montgomery) or Very good QB's whom can throw middle yardage plays well. Its designed to Jump short passing routes and control the sidelines.

West i disagree i think that that squad is so riddled with d1 talent no one can stand out. I had a buddy who's brother went to Katy and decided to go live with his DAD in Mississippi and ended up with a D1 scholarship to Mississippi State but wouldn't have started on Katy's Defense.

So it was 45-7 when the katy starters came out? Hum... Sounds like the Brook got Lucky that the coaches felt their 3-4 days of practice where enough before the game. Thats a butt whooping any way you slice it. Now when people use words like lucky... i laugh. in the end Katy will be playing for a State Title and Brook will be at home, simply Katy doesn't need luck. Also i remember a smart man saying Luck is when hard work and Opportunity meet.

BH game plan should be to run the football and wait for Dayton Turnovers.

1 reason this game will be close is the "home field advantage" i.e. Refs from Beaumont, Katy will be going wtf? when everytime they break a play for 45 or more a magical flag flies in the air. But regardless Katy will win because they can consitently run the football and they will hit a couple deep patterns.

[/quote] No clue who TEL is but hes not watching the game, Redmachine gave you an accurate run down, the defense held well this game, but lets face it Dawson has 5a talent and is playing in 4a. 4 starters out on defense any team would have issues if that were true. Winlessness is funny, i luv how 20-4a are licking their chops yet i bet you crosby and dayton beat whoever they face first round. Our linemen are OK but the problem is they seem to think its enough to just run into someone, and don't give the backs/Merka enough time to escape the pocket. TEL Boxscores don't tell you the story they only let you think you know what happened.

And they wonder why we don't like this SITE. 1) I agree with red machine crosby's offense is not pathetic in fact in the first half it out gained PNG, PNG then had several big plays that racked up yardage. 2) The defense was better this week, much better. Sure they gave up yards and 28 pts but they played consistent and had a much better second half (including the third quarter) also Dawson didn't put second string in until about 6ms left in the game. 3) If you Notice he said number 33 should run the ball (thats Lefluer) whom i think should run the ball. 4) We have a weakness thats getting exploited one of our safeties is consistently getting beat, same thing happened this game 1 big pass sealed the game, was a great thrown ball, on 3rd and 8 while the QB was getting hit our safety (in cover 2) let a WR get on the outside of him and got burnt, i dare say 90% of schools in the state of texas would have got burnt on that same execution. 5) Im only doing this because you picked on red machine. 6) Pathetic is far to harsh, lackluster/average/inconsistent is a better description. Ex. 10-0 halftime against PNG (mainly offenses fault), down by 7 to Montgomery at half (we actually tied the game then we get blown out. the Defense and Offense have both shown glimpses of real talent and ability but they havent done it consistently yet, part of that is injuries and younger kids playing . Also id like to point out redmachine never said anything about defense, he just concurred that the offense kinda blew. FINAL STATEMENT. This is what i see as a key corner stone for our team to succeed from this point on. 1) Offense needs to consistently run the football and run the clock, to keep the defense fresh. 2) Defense needs to create more turnovers, hard hits strips etc. 3) More non-moving routes, sit down routes etc get the 4-6 yards vs the 8-12 if your passing game isnt working. 4) Unleash Merka he's playing with his hands tied behind his back currently (passing more, running Merka almost never) We can do these things easily, if the offense runs the ball more then our defense will seem quicker (less tired) and will work better in pressure, allowing to create turnovers, unleashing Merka also helps that. The unmoving routes i don't expect to happen although i believe its a good idea.
