I never said we were gonna walk all over you. if Picking at mascots and colors is trash talking by God was isn't?

Well i prefer shuddup and Verbage... fyi i used the word i wanted to. hint the use of the word Curb stomp is GARBAGE! kinda like the color Purple. -
See the meeting we had involved laughing at Broncos and other such Prey like animals. including but not limited to Bulldogs, Horses, Insects, Ducks, Other birdies (such as eagles/hawks/falcons etc), and of course the well known but commonly unseen Jackalopes. Heres my Bet if the cougs lose to the Broncos ill refers to us as the Kittens for the rest of the season. but if the cougs win then someone who post a bunch from dayton has to refer to the Broncos as Charlie the mythical unicorn. (Charlie will suffice). Any takers?

Montgomery vs Crosby Predictions
Your probably right... I'd say more than 175 and y'all might be in trouble. If he gets that or more it should open up the passing game. Just be aware of the HB draw... They were excellent at it last year. Also if they are losing late in the game, don't be surprised if they go to the wildcat. Dobbins has great vision and explodes through holes.
saw every bit of that, they also save a RB streak play for the big chunk of yards late in games imo just fyi. They recognized we were playing cover 2 and through it right down the pike. =P Stopped dobbins on 5. -

Montgomery vs Crosby 7:00 PM Cougar Stadium Crosby The Cougars star QB has a big night and the Cougars defense makes a big 4th down stop in the 4th quarter to seal the victory. Crosby holds on for a big opening win. TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION Crosby 21 Magnolia 14 so were gonna play Magnolia instead? -
I luv it. Fun fun fun. Capt nice comments made me laugh. =P So when our undersized offensiveline stands up the broncos front four and keeps them on thier heels... and we run for another 200 yds vs those pesky ponys... will dayton finally shuddup?

Just depends if Crosby can slow that RB down enough! should be a great game!
He averaged right over 220 yards per game last year. If they keep him under 150 yards Crosby wins. He gets more than that, which I think he will, Montgomery wins.
I dunno bout that. i think he could easily get 180 yards and the cougs still win (if hes the only one whos effective) But i also dunno if hes gonna get that. I'd like to see what Crosby has learned about those blocking schemes. -
Crosby is a good counter-puncher watchout dayton.
Good post, Cougtalk. That was similar to the assement Coach Stewart made after that game, if I remember correctly. Dayton has fielded some good defenses in the last few years, but this one is gonna surprise some people. Special teams is normally a pretty stronge suit for Dayton but not that night. I would imagine we'll do a little better in that area this year. Its gonna be a good game can't wait.
Thx. I agree it will be closer but i expect it more like 21-14 etc. than anything else i think that the cougs will play good defense and will have a wrinkle for the Broncos (as they had for Montgomery in playoffs, and against Pearland Dawson (although that didn't work out) But why do we care the cougs are and will always be (for this week) focused on Montgomery. You want cougs to talk post a Thread Montgomery v. Crosby predictions because honestly for right now thats the only game that matter. And 1) Am a Graduate of Crosby 2) Thier is no conspiracy we just don't like you that much (burn) 3) Curb stomp = still bad idea for verbage. I'll be at the game in Dayton if people want to do it we can sit togather. Ill be wearing red and pointing out every Crosby TD =-P As for Merka running for his life... um you obviously need to rewatch tape from last year he doesn't run away from you he runs through you.

Honestly Dayton is a great team. Saying your going to "curb stomp" people probably isn't the best thing to say when your from an Area like Dayton (American History X anyone.) The Cougs always have wrinkles. The major Wrinkle that the Broncos couldn't handle last year was the sideways kick, something they introduced rarely before that game. The team lined up hard hitter towards the middle and they all ran to the ball on kickoffs the ball stays in the air a longtime and as soon as the Broncos caught it they were getting smacked in the face (or as in the 14-0 kickoff they decided they weren't going to catch it -> to an onside recovery) DAYTONS DEFENSE PLAYED WELL in that game. but they consistently gave the ball to the cougs within 35 yards of the end zone. Do i think thats gonna happen again? prolly not, im sure Dayton will have really high kicks going to thier players all week before the game. BUT! the Cougs defense still made a bunch of big stomps and if i remember right knocked Ploch out of the game. (he's a tough kid you don't do that with anything other then huge hits) Dayton's Offense and SPECIAL TEAMS were HORRIBLE. MAybe it was the rain... i know horses don't like the rain but sheesh if broncos are gonna use the rain as an excuse its perty sad, and untrue to the spirit of the game. Do i think the cougs are gonna beat Dayton? Yes. I do. Why? I think they will get superior QB play from Merka (TCU) and whoever ends up running the ball will be successful. 2 RB's in a row have been why doubt them now. Talent wise, i honestly believe Dayton and Crosby are pretty even and its been a shame that previous coaches haven't measured up tactically or perhaps in their development of players haven't done as well as Stewart. But i Think Flanigan is slowly but surely getting a reputation as a dang good coach. But as previously stated we don't talk trash. We just win. =P
Why wouldn't they just call fair cath and take the good field position?
No clue but they weren't. (1x time they did but he dropped the ball, and a defender batted it half way accross the field and we recovered on like the 25.)

King 9.Galena Park 10.North Forest
Ya'll have a brutal non-district schedule!!! Ya'll might go 0-4 or 1-3 before district starts, and I think ya'll will have a really good team this year. Wow is all I can say.
How can we go 0-4 in 3 games? Montogmery and Dawson gave us all we could handle... but lets be real even if we lose those games we don't care aslong as that district title trophy sits on the shelf come Christmas. I want to see the PNG game seems like we've gone abck in fourth in that. first couple times we were completely outmatched. then we win @ PNG 08' in 09' yall win last minute field goal then the route last year. Id argue its gonna be another close one. Id love to see the cougs take out Dawson (more so than montgomery, because those kids were rude in other forums) As for Moving PNG up i honestly don't think so maybe your better than Dawson but you can't blame fans for giving props to a team that went 4 rounds (lost to the champs) and beat them the previous year. And Honestly i think Motgomery is better than PNG. I think if they utilize their QB more theyd be an amazing team, but i dunno seems one dimensional to me. In the END we know the offense will be thier its a big question, can we have guys step in and feel some big shoes that left last year. -
First Home game? No Problem Cougs remain dominate in Crosby.
-
I vaguely remembering a 4th down stop against this team... im not dreaming right? They were too 1 dimensional last year that kids good but he can't beat a team (by himself) as the 3 stops within 5 yards of the goalie prove. and a swat down on fourth (time expired/ w/e) I agree thought they are a good Darkhorse. But if they're a dark horse then why is C-town getting NO love. we have a D1 prospect in Merka (TCU) and good players, granted not glitzy players. Little luv would be nice however.
Us Crosby folks know that a lot can be said on here, but we just want to settle it on the field.
That sums it up. FYI i hate pesos with a passion. Its Iguana Joes where the meeting room is. We have all our dark secretive plots thier... sheesh grow up people. Lets put it this way by the 6th week of the season the cougs will be throughly tested.
Reprint from the Vidor Shopper 2/10/2010 David Ball Since the Crosby Cougars canceled an upcoming football game this fall with the Vidor Pirates, an Internet forum with a cross section of Southeast sports – www.setxsports.com – has been buzzing with rumors. One of those rumors – The elephant in the room – is some on the Crosby ISD school board didn’t want to travel to Vidor because of SAFETY concerns for their players and perceived racism in Vidor. Michael Joseph, superintendent of schools for Crosby ISD wrote via e-mail the decision to cancel the game was made solely by the superintendent of schools. Crosby board member, administrators and community members did not know Crosby was considering playing Vidor. “I canceled the game because of the distance and cost involved in the teams playing each other. On December 12, 2009, our community passed a Tax Ratification Election. In the weeks leading up to it at several community meetings, I promised to make the best use of taxpayer moneyâ€. “While we have traveled to Waco the last two years, we will not be going there next year. We do go to PN-G once every two years. Everyone in Texas knows of the great tradition there and it is good for our fans to see the great support and atmosphere that is at PN-G. We want to be like them “Joseph wrote. Joseph added their district is looking at saving money and using tax payer money efficiently in everything they do. “That is the reality of property-poor public school districts in Texas today,†he wrote. Dr. Joe Burns, superintendent of Vidor ISD, said the decision to cancel the game was Crosby’s to make, not Vidor. “They just won’t get a chance to find out there’s a lot of good people in Vidor and a chance to see our rich tradition and heritage,†he said. “We’re going to move on, our kids are the best. The very best.†Burns said he hasn’t heard from Joseph before or after the cancellation. He added he has to take Joseph’s word the reasons were financial. Vidor ISD is currently working on replacing Crosby with Texas High of Texarkana and Kirbyville on the schedule. “This will be a better situation. The (Vidor) kids will be tested early. If there’s an issue with Vidor, I would ask for them to call and say so with their concerns,†Burns said. “I wish Crosby the best in their endeavors and I’m sorry about this.†Vidor head coach and athletic director Jeff Mathews said he could not comment on the game cancellation but he did say he set out to do two things when he was hired as head coach: no one would love the kids more than he and to do everything in his power to change the way people who live outside of Vidor looks at Vidor. “People won’t let Vidor out of this stigma,†Mathews said. “I don’t have a racist kid on my team. I’ll put our kids against any in the area and I promise you none of them are less racist than ours. I really believe that. It’s time people outside of Vidor start letting that go.†
Hu? I didn't know 80miles of Travel was that big of a deal...
