  1. Neither team is getting many possessions in this one, both teams run the ball well and consistently.
  2. Mirroring OlDawg and 14,3. Crosby's defense has been very good this season, they turn over passing teams and tend to be pretty good in the trenches. Mr. 0 will be all over the field in this one and this is an opportunity for him to show all those other colleges what they are missing out on. 2 will do what 2 does and this game likely gets determined in the trenches. I want to see what the coaching staff does in this one, we know LP is very consistent and they are what they are and do not deviate they have an excellent team culture and understanding of exactly who they are and how their systems work. Continuity and years of practice make that the case. The depth question is a big one, as four different running backs will see the field for LP and how good Crosby's 2nd team of dlinemen is may be a deciding factor if Crosby is equally able to rotate and not lose a lot. I have been pleasantly surprised with the Cougars last three games but that does not mean we are at LP's level this year, maybe we are, maybe we aren't but schemes, coaching, and playcalling are going to have a big effect. Not sure Crosby can win this one if we don't establish a passing game, but we've been doing just enough passing in the last four to make our offense work. Also this is game is going to be done an hour before everyone else with the amount of running that's going to happen from both sides. Crosby in a squeaker by a score.
  3. I'm an outside, I have no skin in this game. PNG should be considered the favorite in this game, they should be the heavy favorite. That being said PNG has not looked like last years team, they look like a smart, savvy veteran team that is not quite as talented as last year. Nederland if they want to win needs to punch PNG in the mouth from the moment the game starts until it ends they need to turn this into a brawl as much as a game in the trenches. PNG is bigger, stronger, more accomplished, and has the better coaching staff and because of all of those reasons I think the dogs take this one, because it's not called mid-county expectations it's called mid-county madness and madness ensures the dogs come out of top.
  4. Crosby @ La Porte likely determines which top 3 spot each receives. Neither team has played Angleton. La Porte plays them Week 10 Crosby play them week 11 whichever team wins is guaranteed a playoff birth. (Both are highly likely to get a playoff spot.)
  5. So after watching this one yesterday... holy crap Crosby beat the living H E Double Hockey Sticks out of this team. Offensive line manhandled them, defensive line manhandled them, special team was exceptional, #2 is looking like one of the best backs in the state he can do everything. The play calling was good, everything was working including the two QB's (three Qb's technically ran a Wide Reiciever + RB Speed option.) This was by far the most complete the team has looked. We still do not get much from the QB position but in this game we did not need them. Have we improved a lot on the offensive line and blocking schemes or have the opponents just not been anyone near our 2nd and 3rd opponents or... We are substantially better or both. We will find out against Angleton and LP. This is the most excited I've been all year.
  6. Didn't get to watch this one I'm assuming the Sophmore QB is finally showing his potential and #2 did a big #2 on that defense?
  7. Pasadena might be historically bad. They are currently outscored 232-0 in district play. They have scored 7 points this year in a game versus Houston Bellaire.
  8. I see after a grueling start to the yeard Friendswood took out some frustrations.
  9. Yes we seem to be a decent to good o-line. Against FWood and KPark we played with a much higher level of physicality than those teams wanted to play. The oline is probably bigger but slightly less talented than some of the lines you're are familiar with playing.
  10. So this is the first game we have not used alternating QB's. This is apparently due to an injury which is really sad and you never want to see a kid get hurt. Continuity was there tonight, the passing game looked much better. If I am being honest, I think the biggest thing was the QB knew if he did make a mistake he was going to right back out there to make up for it and I wonder what the effect of always wondering if you're going to be taken out at any time in the game was doing to that young sophomore who played a heck of a game Prior to this game those "new QB for 2 plays" were completely disjointing the offense even when the plays were successful. Also we've started to do this overload to one side toss zone play that has killed everyone in district so far that we did not run prior to districts end, who knows maybe if we put our kids in space earlier in the season we might have an extra win or maybe even two this season.
  11. I keep hearing that but yet to see it. (at the RB at least, some recievers have made a few plays.)
  12. Should be an easy win, I just cannot feel confidant about it, because our offense tends to disappear when #2 doesn't carry the load. that being said should be a blowout
  13. 0 is committed to UTEP 2 is committed to Arizona Source 247sports
  14. I thought #2 was going to Arizona but I am out of the loop on this stuff
  15. Defense showed up second half and just showed who they were as a unit impressive job to shutdown a team for an entire half. Offense did enough tonight and did it early which is whats key, we get a lead and we have the defense that can hold it.
  16. Terrible punt and fumbles brought back for TD is that a punt return? A fumble return we need a pro
  17. What's the old adage when you have two QBs you have none, seems like injury has lead to us picking our QB finally and it's paying dividends.
  18. Has Montgomery as 3rd in their district there goes that article.
  19. Article has it 1. Angleton - Anderson (austin) 2. La Porte - Flugerville Weiss 3. K Park - College Station 4. Crosby - A&M Consolidated.
  20. Think Crosby should win this one running away so for this season I guess that means like 28-7. Such an odd feeling during the Coach P or Rio era this would have likely been a 52-14 kind of game but we have a lot of trouble in the redzone when the defense gets to load the box a little more with the safeties. That being said the Jimmies and Joes are likely going to carry the day regardless of Joe the Magnificent. Think might be a long night for that K-park offense given Crosby's defensive unit this year.
  21. This Friendswood team has been very competitive against good opponents but Crosby punched them in the mouth in this game.
  22. I love that you're doing this btw thanks for that. I don't think Crosby is going to hang with Angleton, and LP should also be favored, that being said Crosby's offense has to continue to improve or we could find ourselves on the bad end of Porter, Kempner or KPark because we cannot expect the defense to never make a mistake. Crosby loss to Dayton looks worse now given they lost their starting QB, think those two programs have gone in opposite directions since week one. Iowa Colony and FB Marshall both only have one loss and that is to Randle who might be a 5AD2 juggernaut if their early season is any indication who likely has that district on lockdown after beating both FB Marshall and Iowa Colony back to back. Crazy to think Iowa Colony vs FB Marshall likely decides 2 & 3 in that district.
