  1. I remember when projections came out the last time saying Crosby would be a very big 6a in 10 years (pre-covid) the community rather universally said we want to remain 1 school. The design of the new Crosby HS has the ability to add up to 4 new wings to it in the future. There are hallways that go nowhere and the school was built in the academy style so 4 more wings is something like 100 classrooms which would be an ability to be as big as about 4.5k students. Add to that the possibility of a ninth grade campus and Crosby has the land and setup to become a very very big 6a high school.
  2. Faircloth leaves no good coach is going to want the job if after going 3 rounds deep you don't get renewed with that talent pool.
  3. So Liberty Hill seems to have won this far by simply out executing on their special teams and offense. their defense makes basically a big stop or two a game and then forces people into passing situations which they have shown the ability to control passing teams when they know they won't run. Leander Rouse looks almost identical to PNG they have a worse offense and slightly better defense. Alamo was a pretty solid team but made a lot of mistakes. 2 missed XPs, no attempt at a short kickoff, they fix those mistakes they would have won, but that's not how it works. Crosby needs to play a clean penalty free, turnover free game. If we can do that we can and should beat this team. I also think they have a very hyper aggressive mindset and their coaches do not trust their defense. They run a punt reverse pass for a td on 4th and 5 from the 50 against Rouse. They kicked an onside up 2 against Alamo. This coaching staff from LH makes borderline crazy decisions. Always be prepared for the fake action because that's their go to when they need it.
  4. So interesting bit to consider. Flannigan proved the talent existed and that Crosby could be a winner. He was a disciplinarian when at Crosby and those guys tend to have a timer running until they upset someone enough to lose their jobs. Rio was brought in by a super who had ties to Sulphur Springs. Prieto was brought in by a super who had ties to Corpus Christi. So I guess the real trick is hirer a new super from an underutilized coaching area and let them bring their contacts to a Houston area talent pool. Also, to be clear Preito and Rio were coordinators when we hired them. We didn't try and go get Allens HC.
  5. all the doubters telling these boys can't beat X, won't be as good as last year. Two games and they can show they are even better than last year. Gotta finish the Job.
  6. @AggiesAreWe Won't let me edit can a staff member put date location and time.
  7. we need him to chase down in this next one too because if we let them run around the edges it'll be a long night.
  8. I think they are better in the front 7 then last year.
  9. Nah, the recovered kick is a 12 yard pooch kick that they had a gunner on that side of the field. It looks more random than it is, they used a very similar kick last year with us. That's their version of an onside it's like a 12-15 yard kick that's up in the air and in-between the front and second line.
  10. Offensively we are so different from Alamo Heights that this is incomparable but if you learn anything from the game. Make your XP's, Don't give up cheeky onside recoveries, and throw the ball. The weakness of this LH defense is clearly their cornerbacks.
  11. Man Alamo Heights has to be kicking themselves for losing this one. 2 failed XP, Onside kick not even attempted to be fielded...
  12. Liberty Hill's runningbacks might be faster across the board than last year. They do not have that huge kid from last year playing runningback lots of gimmick kickoffs.
  13. It's so hard to view anything from the Alamo Heights game because they play 7 down linemen and try to run a read option scheme.
  14. can we get the crew that did the Alamo heights game? Weren't afraid to throw the not set for 1s flag.
  15. This one has knots in my stomach and it's Saturday before the game. Need our defense to play amazing next week. Not sure we can hang 63 on this Liberty Hill team like we had to last year but we will see. Feelings?
  16. maybe yall could take care of that pesky Liberty Hill team.
  17. We were definitely right about the offense... but geeze that defense came to play.
  18. #9 looks like a pretty good receiver for them. Almost high pointed that one on 24.
