1. Wow - thanks for the vote of confidence!

if you like to talk about speed and BIG FAST linemen and backs,wo-s will tell you to take a look at silsbee, kirbyville and jasper
No offense intended (although I am certain it will be taken), but you are kind of making my point.  You think of teams like Silsbee, Kirbyville and Jasper when someone mentions that Friendswood is a big, fast team.  Ask your friends from Dayton -- which has been the most accomplished SETX team over the last 5 years if not longer -- whether those types of teams are comparable to what the typical Friendswood teams brings to the field.
Noone in any area of Texas heck the whole southern quarter of America would even be allowed to wash Friendswoods dirty uniforms. Friendywood 132--- WOS---0 if Friendswood allows WOS to even enter their city. I heard that Friendswood was warming up using the Houston Texans starting 22 the other day. They sacked Schaub several times. Thay were only able to score 4 or 5 touchdowns on Houston. They will have to work on that part a little. Im pretty sure that they were also undefeated reigning State Champs also.
2. Another validation of what we have been saying, with much debate over here at times! Glad folks are starting to agree - we have a tough district!!
 3.
not to bad for the first day. the coaching staff is watching them very close becouse of the heat. i was in shock with some of the size at west orange this year and dang you can tell thay have been working out with the iron. even after all was over with some of the kids still ran the stands, but this only the first day cant relly tell much yet.this was a little funny ,some of the coaches were sweeting more than the kids,THE MUSTANG MILE OMG  but all the kids gutted it out and were proud of themself after running it
How many showed up? Some one had said WOS would only have 30 kids?
 4. Stratford will not be a surprise - they are state ranked and very highly regarded. Very tough schedule! Will be a fun year!
i just looked at fw schedule, i would have to rank wos 3rd as far as non conference goes.  angleton would be 1, houston stratford(potential surprise team coming down from 5a) at two and a poor 5a channelview 4th.  i thought dayton always played fw what happen to that matchup?  that was a good one.  fw conference will be brutal theres not to many breaks in that schedule  dawson will be good and i hear alot of excitement for manvel  galv. ball is also coming in but i dont think they will quite as good as the above three.  its strange when you dont even consider tc and lamarque to be a threat but im sure they will find a way to be very competitive.  hs version pf the sec.
5. I am thinking FW by 14. Our Oline and Dline will be really good. We have strong receivers returning and 4 or 5 new kids who will catch some passes. Our QB, Pete Maetzold, is really good, better than folks think! We will see, but the team could be pretty good this year. PS to the poster who said we struggle with Dawson, new school as it is, they are pretty good - regional finalists! They got a ton of the right Pearland talent. PS - Manvel got a ton of Alvin talent and is really good also. Alot of teams will struggle with them.
 6. Congrats Brenham. Make Region 3 proud! Looks like all the games are tough from the Regional finals to the title, as you would expect right? Win it all!
 7.
brenham 4-1 good pitching on both sides rider has 2 pitchers with double digits wins and 2 and under eras but our is better and out bats will come alive against decent pitching.. against friendswood we couldnt hit anything against 70mph fastballs and 50mph curveballs so if i was rider i would do that just saying...
Now do not exaggerate! The Sullivan Fastballs were upper 70's, low 80's!! Gaspard about the same!! But I get your point. We have had the same issues in the past, so frustrating, stay back let it travel!!
 8.

Anybody plan on going to Dell Diamond and watching us in our 15th appearance to state (most for any school) and what would be our 7th championship.  (tying Bellaire and South San Antonio for most ever)
No, got to attend a T-Ball championship tournament.
That is some good stuff - enjoy the memories!!
 9. Congrats to Brenham on the hard fought victory. Hope you win state for our Region!!
 10.
Freindswood does not stand a chance in this series....I was shocked to see their coach act the way he did in the PN-G third game when he lost the balls and strikes count on Austin Stone. He made a "FOOL" of himself...
Too bad you could not see the Brenham coach tonite, both of them. And the stud hitter yelling at the umpire as he crossed the field. How would you stereotype Brenham Injun??? I will not, just saw a couple hot heads!!
 11. Well, I guess we know why we play the games. No one picked Fw to win a game, but the kids do not listen to us! Tyler Sullivan. Pitched a completegame and hit a grand slam! Way to go Fw, won with class.
 12.
Weather permitting of course. What's the probability that this goes to a one gamer?
If we can not get a game in today - then it will be a one game playoff Saturday where ever we can find a dry field!!
 13.

injun, I think I know why the FW coach was upset.  The 1st pitch was a ball but the plate umpire motioned with his left hand toward 1st base to indicate that the ball was outside.  Usually when he called a strike he would motioned toward 1st base with his right hand.  The coach probably thought that the umpire motion indicated a strike.
Thanks Oldeagle beat me to it, here is what I was typing when your post came in; Wow - way to lose with class. Then of course PNG would not stand a chance of course. And please the coach was simply arguing for his team. He never cursed, he, as was I , was convinced the first ball was called a strike. The ump had a very similar move to signify wide vs strike. I was positive he had called the first pitch a strike. Many many others were also convinced. One of my best friends, a PNG dad, told he he was sure it was called a ball, with the ump motioning wide. He had a better angle since he motioned towards the PNG bench and I trust my friend. But to react the way you did and then make the comment about losing the way you did was uncalled for. Geez, simply taking up for his team and he was convinced he was right.
There were 5 pitches thrown before the crazieness started. With no foul balls hit how could the count be 2 & 2, which is what your coach was ranting and raving about... Remind me again about the comment I made about "how we lost" ...  And that is correct I don't think we could hang with Brenham either...
Wrong again - there was a foul ball, I was keeping score on my palm with scorekeeper, tracking every pitch. Bashing a coach and then saying you guys have no chance - very classy!
 14. I was at all 3 games and did not sit close enough to FW's fans to hear comments, if there were any.....but what I DID see in game 3 on a couple of occassions  was the FW BASEBALL PLAYERS themselves make jesters to the PNG fans...like "cut throat" waiving goodbye & saluting to the PNG fans. One of the times was after FW hit a homerun and they other was at the end of the game. To my knowledge when PNG won 17-0 the day before there were no comments to FW players or to the fans..... they just celebrated with each other after the win. Just thought that was really sad to have players act that way. I would rather see quality players lose with pride than to see a display like that again....just a shame! Just my thoughts. Congrats to PNG players & fans...what a ride!!
Then you were not watching. The game number 1 pitcher made several gestures to our dugout and stands - I have seen worse, but it was in the same behavior category as you just mentioned. In addition your first base coach was ragging our kids at the end of a 17-0 game, really classy. There were many many comments made by the PNG players during the rout that were uncalled for. Both sides let their testoserone get the best of them several times, but wow - enough to sterotypee a whole town and team - what a shame, more of the same from this board.  We have quality players who win and lose with pride also, try to get to know them before you make judgements. The bigger shame is parents like you who judge people so quick, I wonder what else you judge about people and have passed this onto your kids! Now I retract that, but wanted you to see how one can make leaps, as you did, on one piece of data. Simply not right. Better make sure your house is clean before you start bragging about how good you look.
Get a life
Wow - that added a lot. Enjoy your life!!
 15.
I talked to one of the PN-G ballplayers after the game, and he understood everything and realised that that's just baseball. He also said that if someone would have told him that they would have lost their ace pitcher in the beginning of the season and went 4 rounds in the playoffs, he would have slapped him. So great season guys, way to make your familys and the community proud.
Agreed, we know what missing your ace is like, and we only have been missing him for one and half series, much less the whole season. Well done PNG, good season.
Which one, we all have done a lot of generalizations - like the guy who bit his tongue, and should have kept biting it!!
Reworded my previous post. Both teams and both communities are at fault here. Back when I played jesters, trash talk or any kind of disrespect was not tolorated by a coach or a parent. Now for some reasons it is acceptable. Answer: Professional Sports and TV. It is not just Friendswood and PNG, it is all schools. Times have changed.
Total agreement - you will never see my kid making those motions!! But many teams have players who do it right and those who do it wrong - you can not indict a community for that.
 17.
What's all of the talk about between two communities? It was a baseball series that Friendswood won 2 out of 3. Congrats Friendswood, really don't think ya'll stack up well against Brenham, but hey you beat us. Can we move on now?BTW, Can ya'll loan me some of that money ya'll have?jk
Agree with everything you said scalpem, it is not a community contest, but we manage to turn it into that. You are right about Brenham, they look very tough and I agree with your assessment! I wish I had some money to loan ya, but mine is all tied up in my 4 vacation homes!! JK!!

 20. Happens at all levels, same scenario, runner breaks while pitcher is in his motion and causes a balk!! [Hidden Content]
 21.
Nederland gets knocked out way too soon, PNG loses series on a BALK, BC gone and the Astros just plain SUCKS! Well..go LU & OF!!
I understand. As they said - we still have college baseball and college football is only 94 days away. I hope FW wins, but as a realist I akm planning ahead!!
 22.

Wow, what a spewing of hate towards my friend fwstangs.  And, no one with the B@#$s to offer a simple congratulations to the Friendswood boys.  What a bunch of sore losers you folks are from PNG!   And to monkeyblood, I just love it when people from a "community" like PNG try to preach about how they supposedly raise their kids to some higher standard.  I recall that higher standard being on display during football.  But, hey, whatever keeps you going, and it it helps you rationalize the fact that you are stuck living where you live, more power to you!   Has anybody bothered to add up how PNG (heck the whole GT) fared against those rich, spoiled Friendswood kids this year (include all the academic, music, theater and art stucff).  I am guessing its been about Friendswood 30 and PNG ZERO! Go Indians -- but it will have to be next year!   ;)
Then you need to read a lot more posts and not just pop on here once in a while. FW has been stereotyped by Nederland, Beaumont, etc many many times and if you do not realize it, then you are not reading. We do not The really ironic thing about your post and others I've seen is that you accuse us of having an issue with FW because your are "rich" and yet the only people on this site that have made any reference to FW being "rich" are FW people.  You FW folks are clearly obsessed with the idea that you are "rich."  The truth of the matter is that "rich" is relative.  It's really not a very good standard by which to measure yourself.  There are about 8 million families in the United States with a net worth of $1M or more.  If you had $1B, you would rank 937th among the wealthiest people in the world.  Unless you are Bill Gates, there is always someone richer than you.  I grew-up in Clear Lake and my classmates generally looked down on most of the schools in the area, including yours, because they were not as "rich" as Clear Lake.  I guess that is another thing that strikes me here - I have never thought of FW as rich, but you guys clearly do.  Anyway, the funny thing about the attitude the CLHS students had is that none of the families in Clear Lake at that time was even really wealthy.  We were just wealthier than our opponents and we had a really warped sense of what that said about us.  In the end our relative wealth just made us act like jerks.  We are not at odds with you because of wealth (if FW is wealthy); that is your obsession.  We are not at odds with you because of where you live.  We are at odds with you because you are obsessed with those things and you believe that they somehow make you and your community better than ours.  As hard as it is for you to believe, we really do not want to be you.  Like lots of other people here, I live in the GT by choice.  Our community is well grounded and I appreciate the kind of everyday values I've found here.  They certainly beat the warped values and sense of superiority that pervaded the community in which I grew-up. _______________ I am happy to congratulate your kids.  They are obviously a very good team.
Then you need to read a lot more posts and not just pop on here once in a while. FW has been stereotyped by Nederland, Beaumont, etc many many times and if you do not realize it, then you are not reading. The rest of your post is just not worth reacting to. I moved to FW 25 years ago so my kids could go to a school/community  that challenged them athletically, academically and spiritually. They have made friends for life, have learned how to compete and how to be good human beings. Sound familiar to your desires, I thought so. So when some one on here puts another community down and says we are raising our kids right and you are not, both sides will react. We should all be ashamed about that. I apologize for taking the bait , and yes some of your GT folks did bait us with the rich kid comments, we did not bring that up maam. I know that all of these communties are filled with good folks trying to raise good kids, and we have the bad apples in every place to manage. Later!
 23. Weird ending. Both teams fought very hard. Our soph pitcher Will Hibbs did great!! He pitched 5 innings, 53 pitches with 7 K's. PNG did a good job managing their available pitching. I was very proud of both teams never quitting and playing hard. Hot weather , close game, bad calls, some things are said that folks should not have said. But in general folks on and off the field maintained composure well. I am afraid to use the term classy because I will be making a subtle veiled redneck slam on Nederland - but players were class acts after the game. Good luck next year and for the seniors - great run and career! Brenham is clearly a heavy favorite in the next series, but we will fight hard!

But I got a good laugh!! Better than crying after last nite!!
LOL..here is a more tolerable theme song...[Hidden Content]
There ya go!! We were rocked!!
 25.
Game 3 I would assume Coach Stone would give the ball to Reyenga today with Stone in relief. Who will Friendswood throw? Let's finish this series and move on.
??? Speck, Hibbs, Singleton, Sullivan - should be a group pitching effort!
