DAYTON BRONCO'S vs FORT BEND ELKINS

Elkins is going to put a spanking on them (IMO). They are massive upfront, and in general across the board. They are well coached, and will likely win their district without too much trouble. Elkins offensive front will dominate the Dayton front, which will control the tempo of the game. 21+ game for Elkins. 42-21 Elkins.
oh! he's back!! the statistician...the enrollment whiz kid... dayton will be 1-0 after this week and will leave you dominating your own front.
Never went anywhere. If you could see past your own nose, you'd be a lot more open to predictions. If you can beat Elkins, i say you romp Ike. Elkins is the best team in that district this year, IMHO.
I'm open to predictions...but not when the conflict with mine... -

dayton broncos before the Jerry Stewart era
mikehoncho replied to knightrider's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
DGFrazier...has nailed it... i was lucky enough to see the transformation first hand...on varsity as a sophomore in '95-96 I saw the lows of Bronco Football (Sherman to Fain to Van Zandt...3 coaching changes in one year!)...then, in the spring of '96, a new sheriff rode into town. the best comparison i can make is to Wyatt Earp in Tombstone...it was amazing, and a commanding personality like no one had ever seen in Dayton before. And everyone in the old Bronco weighroom that day knew it... Big Stew cleared out all of the current staff and graduating seniors from the room and leveled with us, the bronco football team that would take the field that coming fall...get on or get off, right now...i'm glad I got on the train... 14 years later, over a hundred wins, 14 straight playoff appearances...dozens of district, bi-district, area, and regional championships...what can I say...this is the TRUE definition of a PROGRAM i'm proud to say I was/am a part! keep it real...mikehoncho...sr '98 -

yeah...I'd say being in the AP top 25 for 11 of 14 weeks of the 2009 season, top 15 for 4 of those weeks would be a huge stage...granted they kind of came apart toward the end...but still, big wins w/ Ok State, Texas Tech and Mississippi State (it's still SEC) was a tough season for a conf USA team...and almost won the conf title... it's not the big 12 championship, but still...that's a huge stage...it's not Blinn we're talking about here (no offense) yeah...rappers told him to do it...just like that dog told the son of sam to kill all those people, real classy...
Blinn's not too bad. Alot more successful too. Last time I checked, they were winning national championships. 4 to be exact, with 2 of them being recent. While Houston has talent and is D1, I honestly believe Blinn could give them a run for their money. They didnt even win conference USA, which isn't exactly a powerhouse conference.
right...i'm positive that a JuCo would give a DI conference runner-up a run for their money...i'm not saying they're Texas or Alabama, but they beat Tech, Ok State and an SEC team...jeez you are a TRUE Brenham homer!
Who was the last player crosby sent to a good D-1 football school? Baylor doesn't count because they are the crosby of the big 12. I know Dayton had a couple of starters in Briggs at Texas Tech, Pearson at Texas, eventually Green at Nebraska, seems like there would be more. Anybody else have some more names? Crosby player? Football only.
AJ Dugat at Houston..as long as he waits it out...Brandon Payne @ New Mexico and Mike Mabry @ UCF...still D1, although not top tier -
Its a great recruiting tool.
my point exactly...it's not college football these programs amass talent and have it stockpiled there, creating perennial powerhouses... just an observation...i agree that any program can win at any given time, and they do so every year...look at Dayton v. SS last year...both small towns w/ great kids and coaching...but I feel there should be some system of checks and balances to ensure that all kids get an equal shake...that's all -

it really makes you wonder how, regardless of classification, inner-city schools or tiny towns w/ minimal budgets will ever compete with that NCAA Division I-esque facility...I'm not talking about "Remember the Titans" style sentimental victories...but consistently, year-in/year-out...these kids have a decided advantage! it's awesome, don't get me wrong... -

Dayton will be outclassed and outcoached.
OUTCLASSED and OUTCOACHED? Really? Now that was a low blow. These are kids you are talking about. What rock did u slither out from under?
I said this in another thread, concerning a game leading up to this one.
Well if you saw the way some of the Angleton Assistant Coaches conducted themselves on the sidelines, it will shed a little light on the way the players acted. Finis Vanover usually keeps a pretty tidy ship, but there was a lot of that street thug BS going on that really should be left off the field. And that goes for any team, the gridiron is a battlefield, but it is also a place of respect. I don't expect that in the Dayton Game, I have never seen anything but a class act come out of there.
I meant every word of it. Never seen ANYTHING but a class act come out of Dayton High School. Jerry Stewart is as classy as they come, he's not always a sweetheart, but he's straight up and no nonsense. Here's a good article on him, and a kid who I am really pulling for down the road, because he is just a really great kid, great skills and even better attitude. [Hidden Content] Like I said before, I expect this to be one of the great games of this year, maybe any year. Truckloads of talent are going to take the field on both sides, and it will be the one to see. I met a lot of really great Dayton fans after our loss to Crosby at Leonard Stadium, they gave Waller a beating on the field, but were top shelf fans and players off the field. I have a lot of friends kids playing in this game, and look forward to the show.
nice post...it's mikehoncho approved...
\ Are you the same mike honcho that did the Playgirl spread?
spread my cheeks...but that's neither here nor there...
