  1. As would might expect, adminbaberuth is 'dead on'.
  2. Does anyone have Jasper's results this week? We have not seen a thing on the board about them. Thanks.
  3. Tourn cancelled due to rain. No games on Sat.
  4. Final St Pius 6 WB 3
  5. What are the games for Sat?

  7. Anyone got the Cards' schedule for this weekend?
  8. Congrats to the Horns. And to the freshman who got the win. Gotta be a big thrill for him.
  9. First, congrats to Ozen on their win. They played really well and both Lott (3 IP, 5 Ks) and Gardiner (4 IP) threw well for them. Second, Lott had 3 hits including 2 doubles. All in all, Ozen swung the bat well. Defensively, Ozen played pretty well with no major miscues. WB scored their runs on (a) a 2-out 1st and 3rd run down, ( an error and © a wild pitch. Ozen had 12 hits to WB's 4 and WB had 4 errors of their own (including 3 missed pop-ups in 1st inning alone) alone with a passed ball and wild pitch (both which led to runs). For WB, Ferguson had a single and double and Murphy had 2 singles. Partain and Armstrong had WB's only other hits. Tubbs, Bender and Soper pitched for the Bruins. Tough loss for the Bruins but a great win for the Panthers and their program. I just can't say enough good things about them.
  10. 13 Sun Devils lose tough 6-5 decision after advancing to semi-finals at Baseball USA. in USSSA Major event. Still, good weekend for the guys.
  11. Look for this to be a very close game (like it was last year). Ozen has 3 front-line pitchers who could give Bruins' lineup fits. WB also struggling right now with their pitching, injuries, etc.
  12. Nederland-West Brook was an 'error fest' with most (if not all) runs unearned. Generally, Nederland swung it pretty good but it was not against WB's 1st line pitching. Nederland jumped out 4-0, courtesty of throwing error by starting pitcher. WB scored 6 courtesty of some misadventures on a couple of pop ups. In fairness, it was very, very windy and the ball was getting blown all over the place. Nederland rallied to 'win' the scrimmage in the 7th. Helmke started for Nederland and was effective but not overpowering. Had 1 K in 4 IP and WB had some good ABs against him. Mosely threw game 1 vs. Lufkin. Didn't see it but WB players said he looked 'legit'. In last game, WB defeated Lufkin 8-4, again not throwing their 1st line Ps. Lot of hard hit balls by WB including Ferguson, Murphy and Serna. Murphy and Serna hit back to back shots off the CF wall that were lasers. WB starts for real on Monday vs. Ozen.
  13. Helveston is in the mix at 1B. He is still with varsity going into last scrimmage on Sat. vs. Lufkin. It looks like Partain in the starter at first, but Serna has not been playing defense the last couple of scrimmages and that could impace 1B/rotation. Its a long season and we'll see how Helveston does. Of course, he could always go back to HJ and play all the time...
  14. 3rd place for Bruins. Humble and CV play for last playoff spot tomorrow. Way to go, WB -- congrats to Roman !!!!
  15. Tough break for a great kid. I hope that it is not as bad as it sounds but, either way, I wish Chase a speedy recovery. He's still got a lot of baseball ahead of him.
  16. Castolenia is now at McNeese. Wes Schneider (LCM) at Laredo Jr. College
  17. Congratulations to the 13U SE Texas Sun Devils select baseball team as they won their first tournament this weekend @ Big League Dreams in Houston. Players: Brett Brown, Cameron Dishon, Trent Fontenot, Ryan Janisse, Hunter Knox, Matthew Menard, Ronnie Sanchez, Zach Smith, Dane Steinhagen and Brandt Wilson. Coaches: Matt Thompson and Blake Justice, along with mgr. Chip Ferguson. Congratulations.
  18. Both BC and Silsbee have great 1-2 guys. Schooling and McDonald proved it over the course of last season. Stringer and Meeks have the ability to be every bit as good and both showed flashes of it last year. I think the BC-Silsbee games will be great matchups. BTW: don't forget Jasper, either as a team or from a pitching standpoint. Reagan and Parsons are also pretty good in their own right. As far as Dishon throwing 91 vs. Lufkin Hudson, I think that's an exaggeration. He is mid-80s (84-86) although he did K6 in his 2 innings of work. This is gonna be a great district race...
  19. TUESDAY: @ Jasper (Jasper, PNG and West Brook) FRIDAY: @ West Brook vs. LCM
  20. Not only was David one heckuva baseball player, he was also a pretty good football player.
  21. Jackson and Dishon (both hit with power in hitter's ball park). Ditto Rowell. McFarland should drop some bombs as will some of the WB group.
  22. Ozen. They have 3 very good pitchers who have been seasoned since they were freshmen. If they can get enough support players, they could wind up as a playoff team.
  23. I think it remains to be seen whether or not he will, or will not, be able to play varsity level this year. That depends whether HJ coach signs off on the transfer. If not, then it goes to district level/exec committee. We'll just have to wait and see.
  24. Those are 2 pretty good tournaments hosted by 2 very good teams. It will be interesting who Huffman draws (I havent seen the bracket yet).
  25. This is a great thing that the Umpires do for our local kids. They donate their time and their money. Congrats to them...
