I doubt that very seriously, combining the schools wouldnt do anything for ya, you can only put 11 on the field at one time, still the same result

You're right having twice the talent pool to draw from would make no difference at all.

We beat schools with twice the amount of kids we have....  That's not always a factor....

I can see both sides to this argument.  Everyone hates to see things in their past go.  Its obvious you have to keep up with times and upgrade and provide the most up to date enviroment for the kids.  The change has to be made like it or not, but there is nothing wrong with the so called "tea baggers" holding on to their past and being upset that it has to be changed.  Is there really a need for this debate?  SFA what does this have to do with what side of the track your on?  Your the only one making that an issue.  You are getting on to them for not wanting to let go of the past!!  Right??  well it sounds like you need to let go of the past too!

Nice statement ^ People in Nederland must not see it your/our way. Hopefully we can try again for some needed upgrades.

I hear ya there...  It took us losing a game to Lamar last year at Del Mar, because our field was too tore up for us to play on.  Since then, we have decided to get turf, a new track, a new score board and add another consession stand. (that's just the stuff that I know of for sure) Amazing what the loss of a home game (which we ended up losing) will do.  A couple calls to the Kruse brothers at Blue Bell and Blinn to see if they would like to join in....and walla!  Doesn't matter that we've needed it forever, untill that happened.  Now if only we had a few more seats in the place...

Brenhamfan knows what hes talking about when it comes to Brenham. Hes related to the Edwards kid whos going to tech. UT doesnt "Officially" give out offers till their first Jr day but there are rumors that elite recruits have offers for months but are asked not to make any announcements of having one or committing.

I'm not related to Derek, but I do know him and his brother A.J. that went to U of H, and transfered to SHSU.  A.J. was a couple of years younger than me so I know him from school, and Derek is a couple years younger than my sister.  Their dad was my principal in jr high.....  Small town.
  4. I mean anything is possible, but with 2 teams that had 10+ wins last year, I don't see it being that lopsided.  Not to mention, both teams like to run the ball and control the game, so I think it stays close and niether will put up 30+.  GP's strength is their ground game and defense, so 42 is unlikely considering what they have returning.  Should be a good game though, that could go either way.

i think you both are wrong PNG over Brenham then going on to face Aledo and MR GREY ;)
ROTFL...   All I can say to that, is you better hope PNG goes D1 with Central....     ;)

Nah got payback on our mind and our "D" still remembers your QBs quote after the game

Ya, it happens. He's just a hs kid learning how to talk to and deal with the media.  It's actually our paper you should blame.  They posted something about a couple of people, (not sure if they were players, parents or fans) who were saying, "Brenham's about baseball, not football...bring on Angleton.  They even lost to Waller two weeks ago.". He was prolly reacting to that, and a couple of unsportsmanlike conduct penalties y'all had at the end of the game.  He was wrong, but you live and you learn.(especially at 16 years old) Personally, I love the pride and tradition PNG has and have the upmost respect for your school.  I apologize on behalf of Brenham, if Schlottmann's comments offended anybody.

Hey send me a pm.  Maybe we can meet up in San Antonio, before or after the game...I love meeting other fans.  It's always baseball around here, so I really enjoy getting to talk football with a group of people that have the same passion for the game of hs football as I do for a change.

I like that FNF is entirely about high school football.  I think Matt and the guys have proven that high school football, in and of itself, is a big enough entity to support a preview magazine such as this without having to provide college and pro football features as well.

Very well said...  Couldn't agree more.  Great job, and it's just the first year.

i think our defense will stop the run and make them pass the ball, but with no knowledge of this team at all i cant really say much but just predict the win, It will be up to  the kids to make this happen,  just guessing though i think we put at least 30 on them and that should be enough to win, I think that our offense will be too much for them to overcome with the run. they will have to change up their game plans and force them to throw the ball and that is where we will hurt them the most.
For those that havn't seen FNF...

GP Scouting Report-  GP is well suited for another deep playoff run.  The Wildcats welcome back Kyle Fishbeck, a two-year starter at QB, who threw for 1,077 yards last season.  He doesn't need to throw the ball often with a deep and talented backfield paced by veterans Johnson and Rodriguez, sophomore Geiser is a great change of pace as a back as well.  The o-line took some hits with graduation but expect the Wildcats to simply reload.  The defense will be loaded with experience and led by LB Smallwood (154 tackles) who is one of the best players in the Coastal Bend.  Garza (100 tackles) and safety Polasek (136 tackles) chip in as well to give GP a top notch unit.  McMillion and Nolte are also expected to make a sizable impact.  Doomes is the only receiver back with alot of experience so getting some quility depth at that position will be vital as well.
