Neither is my team but I saw a playoff game between Brenham and LaMarque around 2005. I believe both team scored twice in the last two minutes and Lamarque was close to scoring a third time as time expired. That game was played in Katy and was flat out fun to watch.
One of the most exciting games i've ever seen.  I'm just glad our defense held them off.

Brenhamfan your last comment hit the nail on the head. All the teams lately to beat the Broncos have done it VIA air mail.Diggs will be in the def.backfield 1 day @Texas.Look for Dayton to make an early statement against #5 Angleton.Very few teams have had success running on Dayton -avg.last year under 94 yds.per gm.We could lose to the 2-5A teams and beat Angleton and move up in the polls :) 8) ::) ;D
Very true...  I'm a little worried about our game against Lamar.  The last time we were ranked and played them was 06'.  We came into the season ranked #1 and we looked like we would hold them off, leaving Delmar with a narrow victory, but with 0:56 left they pulled off a 68 yard hook and ladder play to take the lead.  Jarrett Lee and Brandon Collins ran the 2-minute offense to perfection, but we ran out of time after we drove down to their 35.  The next year, we beat them by 1.  Always alot of D1 talent on the field when we play and this year will be no exception.  We win that and we will be #1 or #2, cuz Lake Travis plays Aledo that seem week....plus LT opens with 5A's #4 team, Westlake and Aledo opens with 4A's #4 team, Stephenville.   ;) ;D  August 27 can't get here soon enough!

I'm more interested in the angleton game. I want to see how disciplined dayton is against the run and an athletic qb early in the season.  If they can prevent the big plays that early in the year i think it would be a good sign. Did diggs commit to ut like his brother?
Yes he did commit to Texas......Key to slowing Diggs down is pressure, and just the right amount.  Not enough and he will have time to make the right decission, and if there's too much and you over commit he'll burn you on a draw play or a cutback.  Just make sure he's wraped up, no arm tackles.  You just can't let him get in the openfield.  He does that and Daytons in trouble.  Just play very desciplined football...  You won't stop him, but you can slow him down.  Very one deminsional, but very good at that one deminsion.  Passing, I think he was 0-4 with an interception.  (against us)
4. Seeing how September 17 is our off week I think i'll have to go check this Ike vs Dayton game out.  I was going to go to the WB vs Katy game, but with all the smack talk going on, this seems like the game I should be at.  Plus scouting Dayton is always handy.   ;)
5. I agree...  He does that more than most coaches, but he always seems to pick the right times, cuz I can't remember it not working.  I remember reading, that if we got that last first down against Aledo, where we needed two yards but only got one.  Their was still a 1:35 to play and we were down 7 at their 19 with all the momentum.  He told the chronicle, had we scored, we would have faked the extra point and gone for 2.  He's a pretty good coach though.  He'll admit it when his game plan isn't working and he won't hesitate to come up with something else.
6. Angletons speed is being compared to Daytons?  I don't think anybody can argue this, cuz Angleton fields pretty much a track team to where Dayton is just a fast football team.  Now, what did that get Angleton last year, when they had that stable of RB's plus what they have this year?  They exited the playoffs one round sooner than Dayton.  Dayton has some speed and excellent coaching, to where Angleton has super speed and a super star.  (Even though he plays QB, when he is a an elite CB, and it shows) Dayton has proved itself and it's coaching over  the years.  Has Angleton?  Angletons coaching cost them last year, and cost them big.  Blowing a 21 point halftime lead, by not changing there coverage up after their secondary was exposed as a weakness.  How you get burnt time and time again, and not change your defense our audible is beyond me.  Perhaps it's the same reason that Angleton had one of the best CB's in the state, but wouldn't use him at that position, even when there lead was slowly disappearing.  Speed makes a big difference, but it isn't everything...

Dempsey is 27 and Donovan is 28.  Next world cup they will be past their prime.  The US squandered away their best oppertunity to make some noise in the world cup.
i'm going to respectfully disagree here.  they'll still be at top level at 31-32.  look at bocanegra, demerit, howard, and cherundelo.  all of them are 31, and all of them are better now than they were at 27.
Very possible, but Dempsey takes more of a beating than anybody else and Donovan seems to have an extra gear that others don't seem to have, but will he still have it then.  Also like I was saying....it's hard to imagine they will have an easier path in Brazil.  Very good points though.  What will they do to fill the Howard and Demerit's spot?
8.
I love your input, Brenham, but I have to disagree about the ages! 31 and 32 would be too old? I believe they will be at their athletic pinnacle, and have the experience and savvy of experienced WC veterans. They will lead a team with a near perfect combination of youth and experience. I fully believe the 2014 USMNT will have the best composition ever!
I'm not saying they won't still have skill.  I just think this was their year to do something.... Easy path, and their leaders I think were at the ideal age.  JMO...  Well my second favorite team is out, but my favorite is still in.  Go Deutschland!

My picks for tomorrow's games are Germany over England and Argentina over Mexico. Both should be good games to watch.

i'm with you on the germany game, but i'll take mexico to shock the world.

Germany and Argentina.  Messi finally comes out.

Statford is the Hou.team that dropped down to 4A and plays the last dist.game vs.Brenham in 17-4A.Looks like they might be pretty good hanging better w/the Bruins.Congrats to WB 8) 8) ;)
Congrats WB.  As far as Stratford goes, I can't wait.  Now, I agree that the average 4A team should usually lose to the average 5A team and this is their first year that they will be 4A.  (So i've heard a couple people say they would win our district). I don't think were average though, and I see them losing their first 17-4A game to Montgomery and to us at the end of the season.  Both games should be close, cause all 3 teams should be pretty even.  We also play Lamar, so that should be a good one too.  Their will be D1 talent everywhere.  Back on topic...congrats WB, can't wait to see y'all play Katy.  (that's our off week)

Ours to *Central*. I think the whole Beaumont will be Supporting Brook that Week,

From Brenham it's about 2 hours, right?

12. I just saw that the "world cup predictor" has England a 54.6% favorite over Germany.  Not sure how they figure that, but i'd say Germany should be about 60% favored.  After all, they are ranked 2 spots higher than England, won their group where England placed second, had a better goal differential and did all that without Klose for more than a game and a half.

How does a 20-10 record get you ranked 12th...strength of schedule maybe? ???
that and name recognition. That school has always had a great sports program....especially in roundball.
Your right, but with that record, they should atleast be at the bottom of the 50.  Were good at sports, ecspecially baseball and we have 5 less losses than they do.  Only earned us one spot better.  ???

you can have athletes, but if there is not proper coaching, good coaching will prevail.  dayton #1.
Boy do we know that all to well at the HILL!  ;) Thank you Stewart and Flannigan!
There is NO chance that Crosby will NOT win district this year.  Merka is an equalizer and they have a fairly deep running game.  I don't like them anymore than anyone else, but it's a fact.  Get the Hot Dogs ready!

Crosby
Dayton
BH
GCM
Lee
NF
CE King
etc.....
So let me get this straight BH89.  You haven't posted on this thread in 3 weeks, most likely due to a self-imposed exile, because of the humiliation of making homo erotic bets with other men.  Now you make your triumphant return guaranteeing a district title for a school other than your own, and talking about hot dogs again?  I'm not sure what's more disturbing.  Your obvious lack of understanding of football, or your obsession with hot dogs.
Dear Frazier,

You are so correct, my lack of time to evaluate circumstances better has caused me to error, which could be misinterpreted as not understanding football (or good smack for that matter).  While you were standing on the corner holding that 2x2 cardboard sign I was gianfully employed and even spent some time fishing.  As for hot dogs.....I don't mean to point our the obvious, but you do realize your own self-imposed name on this board is "[glow=red,2,300]Downgoesfrazier[/glow]", right?  Here Frazier, her boy, come get your hot dog.   ;D ;D ;D

Revised for Frazier
BH
Crosby
Dayton
GCM
Lee
NF
King

See ya in 3 more weeks!
I know you're not the smartest guy ever, but you do realize that my screen name would only be insulting to me if my name were actually Frazier, don't you?  And for the record there's no misinterpretation about your knowledge of football.  If you think BH will win the district and Dayton finishes third,  you're either high or lack basic football knowledge.  As for your gainful employment goes, what are you going to do when the turnaround at the plant ends?  I hear that DQ on 146 is hiring lettuce washers and a fry tech. I'm glad to see that you got a little time for some fishing.  I'm sure you caught your limit of zipper fish and one eyed trouser trout.

I'm pretty sure you have no interest in actually betting because you and I both know that BH has no chance of beating Dayton.  Your hot dog bets have been just a thinly veiled attempt at picking up dudes on the internet.  But if you'd like to make a real bet I've got one for you.  How about $1000 Dayton vs. BH.  Not some internet BS bet, but we meet prior to the game cash in hand.  I know you can afford it.  You're from BH, so you must be rich.  I have no interest in your money, because panhandling in Austin can be quite lucrative. So the loser gives a grand to the winners booster club.  You in?  Yes or no?  Remove that hot dog and put your money where your mouth is.
I volunteer to hold the cash.  Can you imagine 2 g's in the hands of Tyrone Biggums.  I'll be makin it rain on both drill teams. Bring ones so i can shower to full effect.
Are you talkin' about Waller  ??? ??? ;)
lol.  No, other side of the Brazos.  :D
Waller isn't much of a threat to anybody!  They barely made the playoffs last year with a little help and they lost their best player.  DC has them finshing 4th in 17-4A; I got them finishing 5th.  Magnolia West, Waller and Magnolia should be fighting for that 4th spot.

Thats who's missing ;) , and no offense to Kirbyville fans (I am one myself) but pilot point rocked us last season in the state championship and we are ranked number 11 and there ranked number 21  ???
Ummm...Where Did You See us Get Rocked We omly Lost by 14 in my books thats not bad
I agree.  You can lose a close game by 14.  We lost to Aledo 14 in the championship game and it was close.  We start at our 20 and drive all the way down to the red zone, before we turn it over on downs  after going for it on 4th and 2 from the 19; down 28-21 with under 2 mins to play.  (we missed the first down by about a foot)  Then we hold them to 3rd and 10, before Johnathon Gray breaks open an 81 yard run for a TD.  35-21 Final
