I understand only wantly to play kids one way... but when you are limited on options you have to allow your best players to stay on the field.. I think that if we did that we would have an opportunity to make the playoffs.  On tonights match i am thinking PNG 21 Central
If I remember correctly, the tribe refuses to play anybody both ways.  Not sure why, cuz it works for us.  I guess it's Faircloth's policy or something.
That's correct. I believe it's for two reasons. Number one, if that player gets injured (God forbid), you're basically out of two starters instead of one. Number two, I don't think Faircloth likes the idea of wearing down his starters that much.
That's true.  Never thought about it like that.  Sometimes it's for the best though.  Like our best player plays CB/HB.  (Also returns punts & kickoffs too) Coach West used to say its pointless not to use the talent you have, if it will help you.  I guess all coaches have their own strategies & beliefs.  Good luck to y'all tonight.
 2. Kickoff @ 7:30 from Montgomery. DCTF's Friday Night Football Live on FSSW @ 7:00 - 11:00 This will likely determine who wins district  18-4A.  My Cubs arn't ready to hand the crown over.... Go Cubs!
thats true but I have never seen a running clock for an entire half. The only time I saw the clock stop was on change of poss.  At first I thought it was an oversight but after every incomplete pass and first down it never stopped. Whats crazy if you looked at humble before the game they have some size and look the part but as soon as you punch them in the mouth they fold.
I'm surprised you havn't seen a running clock before.  We usually have one or two games with it a year.  If both coaches agree, they can do it in the 2nd half.
i have seen it in jr high but not a high school district game. What happens if by some miracle the other team starts scoring do they start stopping the clock again. Which games this year have yall had that happen.
I guess it keeps going.  If a team is scoring at will like that though, I don't see that happening.
 6.
IT'S MOTHERFLIPPIN' GAMEDAY!!!!!!!!  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( P.S. BF, normally we agree on a lot of things, but I disagree with Brenham's run game being better. Bears have consistently ran with success even against #1 Dawson and Top 10 Angleton. Brenham does have the better defense, but I'll take Montgomery's run game over the Cubs.
Usually I would agree if we're just talking about the past, (especially Dobbins era) but we have 4 backs capable of big things and a dual threat QB this year.  That's something Montgomery doesn't have. Here's DCTF's outlook on tonight's game... "We've got a dashing double in the Piney Woods this week, one of which proved impossible for the DCTF crew to ignore — Brenham at Montgomery, where the Fox Football Friday crew (7-11 PM, Fox Sports Southwest) will be setting up shop for the evening. But don't overlook The Woodlands at Lufkin, either. As usual, that one has a lot riding on it. Brenham vs. Montgomery, once again, looks like it will decide the district title — after all, it's been that way for the past two years. Why change now? The only problem is that has never worked in Montgomery's favor, as the Bears are still looking for their first win over the Cubs as district rivals. Neither team has ridden a star to their unbeaten district records, but both are getting balanced efforts out of their run games and just enough from the passing attack to get by. I'll reveal my pick tonight on FFF, but for now, suffice to say that this should be close — again, it has been for most of recent memory." Apparently he thinks the rushing attack are pretty even.

 9.
You can't honestly say Brenham runs the ball as well as Montgomery does and yea y'all survived Leroy with a state ranked defense loaded with D1 talent the cubs are a far cry from that this year. Linton and Allen are much differance runners than dobbins was so the run game is much more smash mouth rather than finesse. Either way we shall see tomorrow night.
I honestly think our run game is better than y'all's.  (Except the Dobbins era) Like you said, we'll see tomorrow.
Plane leaves tomorrow early evening.  Fishing the Kenai for a couple days.
Catch some shrimp, you'll taste the difference, they're sweeter, as sweet as the running clock in this game. this is crazy i didnt expect this bad of a Humble team.
Remember Huntsville fumbled 9 times and lost 6 of those.  Still beat Humble by close to 30.

 15.
Brenham has not faced a team that runs the ball like Montgomery does, period. They are coming off a win that was expected to turn out the way it did, Willis isn't exactly a premiere team, and it turned into a good tune up game. There is a two headed monster in the back field for the bears in Linton and Allen both are homerun threats from anywhere on the field and trust me Montgomery will have a few tricks up their sleeve.
We face Montgomery every year, and I havn't seen anybody even close to LeRoy Dobbins' talent on the field, and we managed to get through that.  We have our own monster in the backfield, but it has 4 heads.  They compliment each other well too. K.D. Leakes (SR) Darrion Johnson (JR) Tyler Watts (JR) Earnest Patterson (Soph)

 17.
It's funny how Tyler Bolfing had Ty Schlottmann as his counterpart all 3 years, and now Josh will have Walter Thomas for 3 years.
Ya, I was thinking that too.
 18.
hmmm....maybe so, i could have sworn i seen them in this poll a year or two ago. seems like they have been rebuilding since 2010 after bowing out early ::) ::) ::)
No, just this year.  We've lost 3 games in the last 3 years and produced several D1 athletes since 2010, including the best DT in the nation last year.
 19.
Is Johnson lining up at CB or S? I've heard both.
I'm guessing both, but probably more CB.  (That's what he's being recruited as.)  He will get a good portion of the carries at HB too.  In addition to all of that, he'll also be returning kickoffs and punts.
 20.
Wednesday Tidbit!! So far Montgomery has been slow starters generally but usually get going by 2nd or 3rd quarter. If it is a close game at the half, I think Montgomery wins. If Brenham gets ahead quick, it might be hard to come from a ways behind. I think the Bears defense will be in rhythm in the second half. I see Brenham scoring the majority of their points early, but wouldn't be surprised it they score 7 or less in the whole second half. I see the exact opposite for Motgomery. The Bear run game eventually wears down the opponent and that opens up one on one situations for Bell, Howard, and Phillips. It takes a little bit for the offense to get going, but is hard to stop when it's rolling.
Bell vs Johnson will be a good battle to watch Friday.
 21.
I think Montgomery will be in regardless.
I'm, sure they will be.  I was just trying to see who, if anybody has clinched a spot. You saw Brenham last week, and maybe you're opinion won't be biased like mine.  What do you think about the upcoming Brenham vs Montgomery game?
 22.
duh!! ^^^^ i said this atleast twice. however,if you included the other two teams of 21-5a,that would push more teams out of the bottom half...to be honest, brenham should NOT be in the rankings. that is clearly not part of the area.  DP and LP are neighbors. that's like including nederland and leaving out pn-g.yes NS and DP would push out people!! then it would be some belly aching because 21-5a would dominate the top 4 spots. careful what you ask for. that's why i made the staement, anyone past baytown, should NOT be in the rankings. the only reason sc gets put in there is because 19-4a. so maybe  ALL of 21-5a SHOULD BE PUT IN THE MIX!!
Well, I guess you're not familiar with the rankings then.  SMH...  Brenham isn't and never was in the SETX rankings.  Now the state rankings, usually, but this has been a rebuilding year.
 23.
Why is Summer Creek in our rankings and North Shore isn't? North Shore should be considered more setx than Humble, right? I was just wondering 'cause the rankings include everybody else in the district except the Mustangs?
Good point.  I never realized that.  There's your #1.
