Oooooooooh!  :o
One loss in 2+ years (reg season) and suddenly everybody forgets who we are?  Should be an interesting game, but I don't see MW winning.  Sure we're not as good as usual, but we're no stick in the mud either.  I hope Coach West has a chance to see this. I'm sure we can find a use for it.  Take MW if you want, but it's not the smartest idea....  Time to earn some respect back....  Go Cubs!
Not to insult Brenham or anything because they had an awesome team that year, but that 2009 Brenham game was a fluke for PN-G. Too much happened that week for the team to be focused on the game that night and it showed during the first half. I don't blame the team - I wasn't really focused on the game either, and there was nothing anyone could have done to prepare them for that. I have to give it to Faircloth, though. Given the circumstances, he must have given a heck of a speech in the locker room for them to fight all the way back and take things down to the very last drive like that. Going from a score of 20-0 at halftime to a final score of 27-21, especially under those circumstances, is nothing short of a miracle. I'll never forget that 65+ yard run Amir made on the second play after the half that brought the PN-G crowd roaring back to life from dead silence. Even though we lost the game, that was one of the great moments in PN-G history.
At half, 20-0 Brenham doesn't seem too much like a fluke to me.  We absolutely dominated PNG in the first half.  I was thinking the comeback was more of a fluke in yalls favor.  I guess we'll just have to disagree on this.  Good luck this week.

 13.
Vidor can pass the ball. We showed that last year especially in the playoffs against Montgomery. But why pass when you don't need too. With as many scouts from the district as I saw at that game, I would run our basic offensive package as well. Save that card for Nederland...keep believing Montana can't throw the ball. Second, no doubt we would suffer if we lost the best player in this district, who wouldn't? But, we wouldn't curl up and die (as many on this board wish)....we would still make the playoffs. Third, the slot-t is a possession offense. You keep the ball, you keep the clock rolling, you keep the other team's offense off the field. Incomplete passes stop the clock...not what we want. Can't score if you don't have the ball.
Vidor wasn't constantly passing in that game either, besides to the TE.  He was open all night.  The Pirate LB's shut the run down, but the secondary looked suspect, and the Bears got really close to coming back.

 18.
Hoping for Brenham this year but you know that you know all those arse whuppins were not forgotten by opponents wanting some payback
I know, but a down Brenham team will still finish in the top 2 in this district.  The only team that has seemed better is Montgomery and they have never beaten Brenham.  Who knows, this could be the year, but I promise you this...  Down or not, we will fight this whole season!  We have owned this district for a while now and I don't think we're ready to hand it over.
 19. 21.
Waller is still an unknown this year as they have just played one game.  El Campo beat them 31-0.  El Campo also beat Rudder 55-26 for comparison.  The question is: How awful is Willis?  Some preseason reviews had them at #3, but they appear to be more like #6 or #7 at best.  They definitely have had some tough competition to start the year, getting blown out by 42 and 49 points.  We'll see if they can rebound and handle Caney Creek this week.  This now looks like a winable game for Caney Creek.  I expect a close game.
I agree....

 24. Ah....  Finally some good 18-4A talk!  I guess this is where I should say what I have to say. 1. Montgomery- I'll agree with you for 2 reasons....  The Bears have played alot stiffer competition and while they lost a lot, Brenham lost even more.  It's hard to put a 0-2 team at #1, but we're not really that deserving of the spot either.  They should handle the Hornets rather easily, but you never know.  2. Brenham- We could be ranked at #1 still, but this young team has looked very unconvincing.  They have all the reason in the world to have trouble this year with all that's going on, but we have slowly shown signs of improvement.  Maybe now the pressure will be off without the ranking and getting that first win for JD.  MW hasn't faired too well against the Cubs in the past, but this game should be closer than the past few.  I'll still take the Brenham by 10.  It's hard to watch your team be replaced by a team that has never beaten you, but sometimes the truth hurts.  Good thing is, we will have the chance to get our spot back soon.  ;) 3. Magnolia West- They start district play the same way they have for the past few years, which is against Brenham.  IMO, starting with the team that has won their district the past couple of years, is probably best.  If they can manage to come into ice cream land and sneak out with a win it could do 2 things.... Set the tone for a good district run with lots of momentum, and send Brenham, a team that will contend with them for a playoff spot, spiraling even further down. 4. Huntsville- The Hornets are coming off of a loss to start district play, and having Montgomery this week will likely send them into week 3 on a 2 game losing streak.  The defense looked really good against Humble in week 0, but Montgomery is a different kind of beast.  They need to get all of the wins they can now, cuz I'm not rocket scientist, but consider they are likely to be fighting for the last playoff spots, I doubt they wanna leave their fate hanging on the hinges till week 9, when they will have to make a trip to Cub Stadium.  By then the young Cub team will have a lot more experience. 5. Magnolia- By process of elimination I'll put Magnolia in at 5.  This might be high, but there's not a lot to go off of just yet.  They earn this pretty much cuz they have a win and didn't get blown out by Bryan.  Playoffs, a big maybe, but I highly doubt they win this district, or even finish in the top 3 for that matter.  That 4th spot is there's if they want it, but it will take more than 1 or 2 good games to earn that spot. 6. Waller- I couldn't decide between Magnolia and Waller for the 5th spot, but I decided to put Waller behind Magnolia for now.  We get these guy at the Taj Mahal of a stadium next week, so I'll know a lot more about them then. 7. Willis- This has to be the biggest disappointment yet.  In fact, after 2 games and still not scoring, I'm not sure the Wildkats are even aware that the season has started, and we are now in district play.  A few people expected them to compete for a playoff spot, but I'm not so sure any more. 8. Caney Creek- Thanks to Rudder joining the district, they have some hope to avoid last.  Do they have a new coach?  Yes.  A playoff chance...  Not at all. 9. Rudder- I hope you guys are ready cuz Caney Creek is probably your only chance at a district win.  BTW, for some reason, this is our HC game. (That's for you Soulja and Scooter)
 25. Brenham        31 Magnolia West 21 While some district opponents have struggled with MW recently, the Cubs have handled them rather easily.  Yes, we're down this year, but I don't think it will matter as much as it has in the first couple of games.  We're slowly gaining momentum and this young team is getting better.  We looked a lot better in the second half, last week and not a moment too soon, cuz it's district time.
